Pier 1 Imports

It is wonderful to walk into a store and be greeted with a smile and cheerful voice. In spite of the holiday crowd, the employees in this store have always remained helpful and attentive when you want their assistance. The customer, however, is not made to feel that he/​she cannot simply peruse what is available. More stores should take a lesson from this type of staff. It is a pleasure to shop there!

To the greeter at the door, how about not following me around thinking I’m going to steal something because I’m not white… Racial profiling much!

I want to buy everything in this store!

Yes, Pier 1 Imports is a bit pricey. Yes, sometimes the staff are hovering quite annoyingly. But most importantly what is not to love about Pier 1.
I love to decorate, one of my other passions besides eating. Pier 1 always seems to have the exact thing I’m looking for when I don’t even know what I’m looking for. A great store to find the perfect accent piece to any color/​décor theme.

Trust me on this: they are open. Very open. Their location may be a little strange (hidden by shrubbery in the corner of an almost totally dead shopping plaza) but they are definitely not closed.
Overall, it’s your typical, overpriced Pier 1. I’ve always loved their furniture and kitchen goods albeit their price tags are absorbingly high. And while I –totally– adore their selection of home accessories, dropping forty big ones on a single throw pillow seems completely inane when there’s a Target and TJ Maxx across the road.
Still, I do stop by every once in a while to shop their sales and mark downs. This particular location had a huge clearance on an assortment of summer kitchen goods, many of which can easily work their way into the fall. I found a mini pastry plate adorned with a lovely orange and yellow flower print that I instantly converted into a coffee table candy dish. Perfect colours for the Autumn season. Total price? Less than three bucks.
Sometimes it’s worth stopping by for sale items. That said, not bad.
