Planet Fitness – Warwick – Bald Hill Rd

I hated gyms. I’ve never been to the gym, I’ve never felt comfortable in a gym, I was scared to go. Until I found Planet Fitness on Bald Hill!
I love this gym. It’s huge, clean, and the people are friendly. Shout out to Katie and Josh, who are the best. They make me feel welcome and I actually look forward to the gym now and try to fit it in my schedule whenever I can. I tried to go to other PF’s, but they just don’t cut it compared to this location. You won’t be disappointed. 10/​10, will gym again… COOL.

I’m going to advise any one who ever had a membership with planet fitness and they still took money out of your checking account for membership dues when you’re no longer a member, to do as I did and file a complaint with there local Attorney General’s Office because contacting corporate office, the BBB, and contacting the local club is a complete waste of time.

I’m only giving them 2 stars because I have frequented many different Planet Fitness locations and this one is one of the best in terms of facility. Large space, bright, never a wait for any machines, good atmosphere, etc. I was in this gym three times weekly for over a year, only going to a different location if I needed to based on travel or 24 hour availability.
At this point though, I am left with no other choice than to conclude that the staff at this particular Planet Fitness are either incompetent or else they just don’t care about my business and ongoing membership. When I first joined Planet Fitness it was with the Natick, MA location and my billing went through them. I spent a good problem free year using the gym (s) and having my monthly dues automatically debited from my account every month.
When I began residing in RI again full time at the beginning of the year, I went online to have my home gym changed from Natick to this one. They asked for my billing information again, and I furnished it just like I had at the outset of my membership. No dues were ever debited from my account, and I received a bill in the mail, letting me know that my account was past due. I went into the gym to resolve the issue and they explained that they had experienced some issues with their billing system, and if I would just give them my information again they would put it through again. I paid the dues that had gone «past due» that day in person, and signed a new authorization for them to automatically debit my account. It never happened. Since July, I have been talking to what seems like a revolving door of managers trying to figure out how my billing situation can be straightened out, and to date (over the course of 5 months) I have never received ONE SINGLE RETURN PHONE CALL from any of the gentlemen I have spoken to. And we are talking about lengthy phone calls ending with my giving them my contact information and them agreeing to return my call after discussing my situation with whoever else they need to discuss it with. The most recent person to tell me he would call me back was Saulo, who seemed to be the highest ranking person in the gym based on how he described his position in our phone call.
I am now done with calling this gym over and over again and begging them to take my money, and it’s a real shame because I enjoyed my Planet Fitness membership a lot until this situation transpired.

I have been 2 of the northern RI Planet Fitness gyms and this one by far is the cleanest, brightest and largest! The staff acknowledged me right away with a smile and a HELLO and a Goodbye; which always goes a long way! The locker room is huge and so clean. The cardio area was great with plenty of TV viewing selections. Even though I live right near 2 other Planet Fitness Gyms; I will definetly take a ride down to Warwick PF again!

I’ve been to just about all of the Planet Fitness locations in RI and I must say that I find the Bald Hill (Pace Blvd) location to be the best fit for my needs. First, it’s centrally located. Second, it’s enormous and there are always machines to use. Third, it’s very clean. Forth, and probably most importantly, the staff is affable and energetic. They are friendly and courteous and they make you feel welcome. In my opinion, that’s a necessity. A business won’t survive without a superior staff.
I did prefer the yoga pants to the new khaki requirement. Besides the fact that I’m just a fan of yoga pants, the khaki pants get dirty very quickly.

This location is EXTREMELY dirty. I doubt the tanning has ever been properly sanitized. Staff are very unprofessional. I recommend any other location over this one.

I just recently joined, however, this is the CLEANEST gym I have ever been in my life !!! Immaculate! Very happy to be a member!

Steve E, I assume the owner of the gym contacted me to let me know they added additional A/​C units to address the lack of A/​C back in June. I had been in there around that time and noticed that the air quality was much improved. I am very grateful that he took the time to follow up with me and let me know he was taking action to improve the business. We need more people like him!

This gym is very clean, has a very polite helpful staff. I’m not a fan of the lunk alarm but I’ve also never heard it go off.
Can’t wait to go back Monday for a thorough upper body workout that leaves me sore for days!

I’ll never go to this place again! I joined the planet fitness in cumberland w/​the black card so I could use other facilities. Going to this one in warwick was a mistake. I was in the middle of working out and couldn’t believe what I saw… it looked like a bum walked in and went over to the trash can in the middle of the gym and began to vomit in it. Not because he was sick… it was because he was sticking a pen down his throat to make him self vomit. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Not in the mens room or outside… right in the middle of the gym. I was waiting for a staff member to come over and ask him to leave, but instead the staff member went over and had a conversation with him! They were friends! They were talking and walking around the gym, not working out. Right after this kid was making himself vomit in a trash can. WTF… this is the 100% truth… I pay $ 20/​month plus a yearly fee so I can see some bum vomiting in a trash can?! No thank you. too many gyms out there. Bye Bye planet fitness.

I Lift Things Up and Put Them Down… Nicely
When my time was up with my membership at Gold’s down the street, I was looking to get my workout on at a place where I didn’t have to sign away my first born child. I heard the hype of Planet Fitness and their «Judgement-​Free Zone» mentality and figured why not? $ 10 a month to literally do everything I was for $ 45 at Gold’s? Sign me up.
The staff is nice and not condescending. I also find it hilarious when they signal the Lunk alarm since there are a few people that frequent the gym that are straight out of their commercials.
This place has a ton of cardio machines, which sometimes gives the impression that they don’t have much else for equipment, which is false. One gripe I have is that they don’t have a bench press station that’s not a Smith machine (much like the previous Unilocaler stated), but that’s a small con which doesn’t outweigh the pros. Also, the free t-​shirts they give you are all XL… since «everyone is the same size». Anyone with eyes can disagree, but it goes with their motto (although I think the staff should all wear XL attire… lead by example.)
Around 5:30 p.m. during the week is when I go (busy but not overly crowded) and they actually give you a calendar of which times are the busiest, so you’ll know what you’re walking into on your first day.
If you’re looking to workout without burning a hole through your wallet, check it out. It’s where the old Sports Authority used to be on Bald Hill Road.

I moved to RI earlier this year so I needed to look for a gym that offers about same equipment as the gym I used to go. Trust me that this has the best bang for your buck as for monthly membership fee (only $ 10/​month). I literally tried out five different gyms before settling here. Some gyms have great staff but not much equipment, while others like the Gold’s Gym in Warwick has alot of machines but are very old and felt very cramped in there.
They have tonnes of treadmills, ellipticals and bike machines. The only free weights they have are dumbbells but only up to 75 lbs. :(The biggest deficiency is that they don’t have a flat bench press with free a standing olympic bar. All they have is the Smith machine bench press which does not offer the same workout because it is on a rack rather than free standing which forces you to balance the bar and weights.
Other than that, they have a full compliment of ab machines and sit-​up benches to work one’s core. (This is why I chose this gym!) Also plenty of flat screen tv’s that have about eight different shows repeated twice across the length of the gym.
Also the staff is great, the machines are very clean and new, the people who go there are in their own zone working out but cognizant of people around them.
