This store has the worst customer service. I will drive the distance to the Attleboro Babies R Us store to avoid visiting this one. Even the manager didn’t know how to help me. It’s pretty sad. They are unfriendly and unwilling to help at all. I’ll never go back — I promise!

This store is… okay. It’s what you’d expect from a TRU. I have a child and my partner and I are both toy addicts, so we’re in here about once a week. The staff is very friendly(a few of the longer-timers will actually remember your face and name), and when I’ve had to get a store pickup item from the customer service desk, they’re very quick. The on-shelf stock can leave much to be desired at times, depending on what you’re looking for. You will see empty spots and messy shelves, the latter especially being due to rude customers. However, you will occasionally find a gem you’ve been searching for everywhere else, like a rarer doll or action figure. If there’s a sale going on, you’re better off grabbing it online. This store at least can’t really keep up with demand in those cases.

I really had to think pretty hard about the stars here. As their name implies, their gig is toys. If you’re shopping for an infant or teenager, you’re going to find something here, at pretty much any price point — from teething rings to ear buds. If you’re looking for a specific toy item at a brick and mortar store, you’ve got a better chance of finding it here vs. a general big box store. Some people say the prices here are higher. I guess that’s somewhat true, but they’re about average — and they will price match any competitors advertised pricing for in-stock items. The service here is perfunctory. Someone generally asks you if you need help, because they’re trained to ask… not because they really want to help you. I visited here a couple of days ago looking for Minecraft figures for my son’s birthday. I asked where I might find them. Reply: the boys’ section. Uhhh… gee…thanks. I already kinda figured that out. But, on the upside… it usually is very well organized. So when you do strike out on your own to search for XYZ toy, you don’t have to dig through a mess to find it. Decent rewards program; tracks your purchases to accrue points, sends ereceipts for simple returns, nice coupons. They also have a smattering of BabiesRus items. Basic stuff… none of their boutique lines and limited high end gear. Only one Britax infant seat when I went in looking for a Britax booster. No biggie since BRUs is up the road. A decent commercial toy shopping operation for gift giving needs.

I love love love Toys R Us. Even as a big kid… or «adult»…I still enjoy shopping at Toys R Us. It’s hard not buying toys that you WANT your kids to enjoy(like cool Legos or Video Games) and having to stick with purchases that you know your kids will enjoy(not-as-cool Legos, Power Ranger toys, and puzzles). This particular Toys R Us is well stocked and the staff is very helpful. I was there today, 2 days from Christmas, when it was much more chaotic than normal and I was still able to find staff assistance on three different occasions to help me track down specific items. The checkout line was non-existant because they had about 8 registers open. Nice staff and excellent preparation for the holidays. I’m a fan!

It’s your big box toy store. They sell all the commercialized junk that your kids want, but don’t need. I find the prices differ by up to $ 10 compared to stores such as Target, and Walmart that are practically next door. I only come here to shop when I have no other choice, or there is a deal(in this case I had a groupon)

Normally, I would do this kind of shopping online, but my son was given a couple Toy R Us gift cards, so we made the trip to let him do some offline shopping. Overall, this place is kind of a dump. The whole vibe of the store is rather cold. There’s no personality, no charm. Aren’t toy stores supposed to be fun? To add to the ambience, the employees don’t seem particularly interested in helping. Among the expected action figures, board games, Barbies, Hot Wheels, et al, my son found a couple Lego sets that he fancied, but there were no price tags. I pulled out my Red Laser app to give them a scan. Unsurprisingly, the sets were $ 5 less at a nearby Target and Wal-Mart(you’d think the place would at least be able to compete on price). If the boy hadn’t needed to spend the gift cards, we’d have headed to Target straight away. Let’s be honest… if he didn’t have the gift cards, we wouldn’t have set foot in the store in the first place.

Kind of contrairy to what you think of these days. If I go to a warehoue stor, you expect good discounts. In almost all cases, I can find the same toy, or what ever, cheaper at Target or Wally World. I guess you get to pay for the much larger selection, the lack of assistance the great business model of being out of most what ever it is you were really looking for.

I don’t have kids so maybe it takes a special skill to navigate toy stores in general, but dang it’s hard to find stuff here. Add the crowd of the holiday season and it’s a madhouse. I usually buy everything online but in this case, I preferred the store over and they only didn’t have one item I was looking for.
