Horrible experience. This is the second time using TruGreen and should have learned my lesson from the first time.
The reliability and communication was horrible. They were up to 3 weeks late on all my treatments, even the time sensitive ones. I raised my concerns to a manager and didn’t even get a return call
I would never recommend them under any circumstance.

Stay Away!!! We have maintained our lawn for more than twenty years and have been told we have (now had) one of the nicest lawns in the area. In an effort to delegate some of my work load around the house I decided that TruGreen may be one step in that direction.
In a few short weeks they have managed to make our lawn look terrible. We now have weeds that look like they are on steroids and once healthy green grass is yellowed in many, many areas, which took years to establish.
You would think, they would send enough material to do a small yard on their first visit, but they ran out, and then left it up to me to rescheduled and then came and reapplied to the same areas they got on the first visit. I actually brought this concern to the attention of the customer service representative when scheduling in the incomplete job and stated that they need to assure that they communicate what was and was not done and was assure that will be done. Obviously this did not happen then they tried passing off the Overtreatment to a mystery fungus that killed the grass.
While al the people you deal with are nice, courteous and tell you they care it is near impossible to speak with a local field manager let alone at a time convenient to you and there office is less than 3 miles away!
With this said, it appears the history seen here on Unilocal and other Review sites by other dissatisfied customers is absolutely true, as such I will cancel my services, I only wish I had read them earlier.
On a side note they are even making it difficult to cancel the program in the name of customer service.

Updated…Finally cancelled, they tried to perform an aeration at my expense to help repair their mistakes. Unbelievable!
Customer care at it’s worse, cannot communicate with local management despite several requests.

My lawn has never looked better. Used Tru Green several years ago and results weren’t great. After failing myself tried them again on a friends recommendation. It’s been 3 years now and my lawn is so thick. No weeds and likely best in the neighborhood. Glad I gave 2^nd chance.

Terrible from day 1! Two inexperienced «boys» came to do my first application (you would think a brand new customer — leave a good first impression, right? Wrong!) One of the boys held the hose that applies the treatment. He wasn’t paying attention, the hose broke 3 flowers I’ve been trying to grow for 2 years! Still had lots of weeds — 10 days later, they’re back — to do the job correctly, right? Nope. I had the same weeds all summer. I even put little flags where the weeds were — didn’t help. Weeds all summer.
The lawn never thickened up, like they assured me. I even had the lawn aerated & over seeded. After they left, I added more seed because they barely applied seed. They came back a week later to put starter fertilizer down– another application bill. Should have applied when the seed was applied!

Tru Green– I have had an awful experience with them.
they have had to come out 10 times this year for weed control
no communication with the technicians and mangers of your local branches.
Mike Yates, out of Warwick RI does not communicate with his team.
I have called into customer service and the feedback I give goes no where I feel.
Mike came to my house to look at my lawn on Saturday, the field tech came today and did not get the communication from Mike. If I was not home they would have put down the wrong fertilizer.
why do I need to manage and be home to ensure the right application is being put down.
I am very disappointed this year with customer service and don’t feel this service is worth paying for.

The field tech that takes care of my lawn and shrubs are great. Very polite eager to please and do a good job. Their manager is easy to reach and talk to. They are concerned with doing a good job. I have been using them for 5 years and my lawn has never looked better.

This company is a NIGHTMARE! We had a healthy lawn, but we went with this company because we didn’t want to do the lawn ourselves this year. My lawn is now half dead, littered with crab grass and full of nutsedge. Not only did they RUIN my lawn, it has been a disaster trying to get a field worker to come to the house. They have zero communication at the branch or corporate level. We asked to be called before a field worker arrived three times. They never called. They did not so much as ring the doorbell, which they are supposed to do according to corporate. They even «forgot» to do the back lawn. I know this because my dog was back there and never barked. Then the guy admitted it.
We chose this company because it was about $ 100 cheaper than other companies, but we may as well have set the money we spent on fire. They should owe us for the damage they did to our lawn

Go with a small, local pesticide company. This company is AWFUL. I tried to cancel online and couldn’t. I called the 800 number THREE times and cancelled verbally each time. The person at 800 number was nice but each time said the regional manager would have to call me to discuss. Never did I get a call. Two times the truck came to spray and I asked them to stop spraying because I had cancelled. They are too big a business and you never hear from a local guy. Do NOT use them. And if you do… good luck cancelling!

Words can not explain how disappointed I am in this service. I paid in full for both lawn and spraying plants for insects. I guess once they have your money that means 2 minutes is a sufficient amount of time to spend on your lawn. I have tons of weeds and my lawn is a lovely yellow brown color, even though I water daily. I have had no luck with «customer service.» Save the aggravation and do it yourself. After all, you can’t do worse.
