Keep driving by. Run for help and tell 10 friends to keep pushing. This place sucks, it’s hot, full of flies, and the meat is dry.

I agree with Jesse F. Couldn’t have said it any better. I also fell for the ratings and almost walked out but unfortunately, I didn’t. I ordered tacos of Carnitas and lengua… but I couldn’t tell you anything about it because THEYDIDNTHAVEANY. so I settled for a carne asada burrito. How can they mess that up? Well they did. This is a tortilleria place but mine was off the shelf(seen her). Dried meat with no flavor etc. There are 2 things you are guaranteed to see here. A good selection of jarritos/fanta drinks and flies. Good luck.

Well I fell for the old 5 star ratings of this place and I was highly disappointed. What kind of Mercado/eatery runs out of carnitas and pollo at 5 in the evening to an empty establishment. What kind of Mercado has rotten produce with fruit flies hovering next to the hot carts? What kind of Mexican restaurant has a salsa bar that when you lift the plastic covers flies come blazing out? This place! My dumb ass still ordered ignoring the signs and had the balls to eat the dry, unflavored burrito. Well I paid the price later sitting on the can all night. I guess the only good thing that came of this was I lost 4 pounds that week, great food for a colon cleanse I guess. Stay away from this place unless your a dumb ass like me. No reason to hate, I’m from sacramento, so I don’t benefit from lying here. Bön appetite

They have good vegan rice and beans! No butter or lard used on any of their rice and beans. The guacamole is also vegan friendly. Over all great experience and great customer service.

Okay. So. It’s a hole in the wall. It’s inside a «super market». On the upside, if you’re into strictly imported goods from Mexico, this is your spot. Nitty-gritty… I ordered the Supreme Bistek Torta. Little did I know(my Spanish translation is poor at best) it was actually a steak sandwich. Messier than prom night, this beast gave me a run for my money. By the time I was done it looked like a Mexican revolution. Food was everywhere and I didn’t know what to do. I was upset and embarrassed. Keep calm and carry on. So. I gave them an Andy Dufrain moment at redemption. This Barbocoa on deck looked pretty enticing to say the least. I had two Barbocoa tacos and was begging for 3 more(I love my waistline, so I didn’t actually oblige) onions, two corn tortillas, and cilantro… Wasc-yes! I recommend putting sour cream on these dragons– best refried beans ive had in a while– if you happen to order them… anyways… The salsa cart was a joke, but i made due. Service was good if you speak Spanish or have a charming smile. I’ll definitely visit them again.(ps. I visited this place while I was working in wasco for the day)

If you know me, ordering Mexican food is one of my biggest fear… not because I don’t have Spanish-English dictionary installed on my iPhone: P Anyway, I still managed my fear went in again after finishing 3 beef tacos.(yes, I said Beef taco when I ordered it) Turtle: yes I saw it but… I don’t know how to pronounce«Cabeza». Frog: Ask for«ca-beh-saw» tacos, head meat. turtle: ohhhh so…2nd time I successfully ordered 5 cabeza tacos. so damn good!!! Totally worth additional 10 miles drive(from I-99) from outside, it looked dark and empty… like those scenes in horror movies that when you walk in, you scared by the suddenly show up employee don’t get wrong, inside is actually very clean and neat. I was the only customer in it at 1pm. The girl who made my tacos was quiet, shy(like me), and fast. It was hot and wrapped in the foil. I never had such flavors before… it looks simple but it left King Taco wayyyyyyy behind… If you travel between LA-SF…its very close to 46(Famoso Hwy) and to both I-5 and I-99 are around 10 miles. Because it’s close to HWY so the driving time is actually not too bad… I got there in 12 mins after exiting I-99 NOW I wish I can have more«ca-beh-saw» tacos …

Bomb diggity. Every time we roll through i make it a point to stop by. Once you go, you’ll understand why. They are now offering home made tortillas fresh off the presses and they are fantastic. Eat inside or out, its good either way. And if you want to stock up on bottled soft drinks they have a full selection at reasonable prices.

I remember the days when this was a little taco cart outside of the old Pharmacy. My family use their services quite frequently for catering, as does my work. They do a pretty great job of feeding a crowd for very little money. I love that they make homemade tortilla’s right in front of you! If you don’t like that soft fresh corn tortilla texture, then maybe this isn’t for you. Sometimes the meat is sketchy, and I’m not always sure what I’m getting, but sometimes that’s the fun of eating at places like this… as for the next day, you’re on your own.

Midway through the SF to Mojave drive we needed dinner, and Tortilleria Santa Cruz delivered. A pretty well stocked market but also a great eatery with inside and outside self service tables. I had a delicious el pastor torta, but the real prize was my the $ 10 whole chicken combo that my companions got. The rotisserie chicken was nicely spiced with oregano and other flavors, as well as a faint hint of smokiness. Just awesome. Served with tortillas, rice, beans, and a tasty salsa bar.
