Excellent food, great service. Went with friends and the fondidos are amazing… great atmosphere!

Phenomenal service and food. Highly recommend the smoked white fish caprese salad. We also had the pizza special which had pepperoni, salami, banana pepper and onion. It was also really good. I was worried the high reviews were a cause of vacation inflation but they really are spot on!

That chicken jerk was fantastic. Reminds me of the Rustique Pizza in Green Bay and Wild Tomato in Fish Creek.

This is as good as it gets for pizza!!! Oh my, my!!! My wife declared it the very best pizza she had ever eaten and this is after we had the most fantastic appetizer EVER prior to it!!! They have something called pizza puffs and it looks about like a skinny football when they bring it out, puffing out steam and smelling fabulous. We got ours with a wood fired brie cheese wedge covered with raspberries and blueberries in a maple syrup sauce. Now that may sound strange but you rip a chunk off the puff(after it cools down enough!) and slather on some cheese and fruit and I don’t know how to describe it but OHMY was it good!!! The sweet and salty combo is just fantastic. Then came the pizza which had one of the very best crusts I’ve ever had and they do not skimp on ingredients. They make their own in house Italian sausage and it is some of the best I’ve ever tried. This place is a MUSTSTOP place if you visit the Bayfield area.

People like the pizza, I love the salads– yeah weird! But try one! Berries and nuts and local veggies! yummo! crème brûlée? yummo! This is great food, but Good Thyme is the best in town

Our party of ten kayakers had a dinner at Dalou’s that was excellent in every respect except timing. Half of us had salads; all with impeccably fresh greens, local strawberries and great dressings. The rest of us had pizzas from the wood-fired oven, with classic Neopolitan crust, fresh ingredients(including some very fine fresh mozzarella)! The only problem is the salads and pizzas were separated by 20 minutes or more. Now, it’s a little place, with a little kitchen, but salads will sit on the back board for 15 minutes and do just fine. OK – end of whine. Dalou’s is a fine little place — a warm, friendly room with yellow walls and elegant art metal sconces, seating no more than 25 or 30 people. There’s a little patio out back for the few weeks where outdoor dining is an option. The server and hostess(the only two floor staff) were friendly and fairly efficient. I called at 5PM or so, looking for seating for ten people at 7PM. I was told(fairly brusquely) that they didn’t take reservations. But when we showed up at 6:50, there was a 10-top pulled together and waiting for us. Very gratifying.

Wow! My son and I road tripped up to see the ice caves and stopped in to «fuel up» before our drive back to the Twin Cities. Having read other reviews, I expected it to be good. We arrived just after 5 when they open and it was already very busy with what seemed to be mostly local patrons. I think it’s always a great sign of consistency if a business has lots of local regulars. It seemed like they had one server and one hostess who helped a bit. They were friendly despite being very busy. My son ordered a pepperoni pizza and I had the Mediterranean Panini. Both were excellent! My son is a die-hard Pizza Luce fan and he couldn’t decide if the wood fired pizza outdid theirs. The quality and flavors were outstanding! Their cheese is amazing! We will definitely stop again if we are passing through the area.

Steve, an owner of the Pinehurst Inn, recommended Dalou’s Bistro, and so that’s where we had our first night’s dinner. It was amazing. Dalou’s is a small family run restaurant built around a wood-burning oven. The pizza was thin crust with delicious homemade sausage: reminded me of home in New Haven in the best way possible. By far the best bites I had on my whole Wisconsin winter vacation(and that includes the amazing restaurant Forequarter in Madison) came before the pizza. That night’s special appetizer was wood-oven roasted brie in local maple syrup with blueberries, served with a salted homemade puff of pizza dough. The sweet and salty flavors and perfectly balanced textures of the crispy puff of dough with melty brie and gooey syrupy berries were heaven. For dessert we had the gelato, also made in house. The flavor was black licorice: it was so creamy yet had the herbaceous anise notes. Amazing place.

Fantastic food; enthusiastic service and wonderful space for a such as small place. Our group of 4 ended up there by chance when our destination restaurant was closed for the week. What a find!!! We split two fresh Greek salads with perfect tomatoes and wonderful, light homemade dressing. We then splurge on 4(!!) wood-fired pizzas some with home made sausages. Finally we talked ourselves into the homemade caramel gelato with 4 spoons. Heaven.

Great fresh food! DaLou’s is perfect for a sit down meal or for a pizza to go. Plan ahead if you go here on a night that Stagenorth has a show!

There are truly not enough stars for this place. It may even have ruined my ability to eat pizza ANYWHERE else. Best pizza I have ever eaten, best Ceasar Salad. Period. We accidentally discovered this place on a recent trip to Bayfield. We ate there for lunch(lord help trying to get in on a busy day) and it was incredible. After our trip was over I kept trying to figure out excuses to need to drive and stay in Washburn for the rest of the summer. Hell, by the end of the trip, I was trying to figure out if I could relocate there. That good.
