This salon was perfect for my wedding! Hair and make-up! Central location! Dick the owner was wonderful and all the ladies! They worked on my wedding party, my mom, new mother in law and guests!

This place was terrible. I just went to have my hair curled and it was so bad I went home and showered. We also had two appointments at 11:30 but it’s just one guy there so he booked us and only one of us could even have our hair done because we were on a time crunch. Unfortunately I was the one who got mine done. By the time I walked one block the back of my hair was completely straight and the top of it had insane Shirley temple hair. Definitely don’t recommend it.

What a wonderful experience! The owner Dick and everyone there were so gracious and kind. They helped me achieve the perfect look with hair and make up for my son’s wedding this past weekend at the Willard. I recommend them whole-heartedly!

Right next to the W Hotel, great location. What a wonderful experience! Made an appointment before an event to get a blowout and style, I was treated so kindly, the salon was clean and Dick is a character and wonderful at his craft. I showed him a photo from a few weeks before when I got my hair done at a blow dry bar and he said he could do better and he delivered! I will certainly be back!

This review is for a visit on Valentine’s Day evening, around 5:00PM. My wife wanted to do her nails at the Red Door Spa, but there was nothing available. The receptionist called Allous and asked them if they had availability for a manicure and pedicure. We were told they’d take her. We walk over to the nearby salon where I leave my wife, as I am not getting any services, but not before paying for the services. $ 75 for a manicure and pedicure. A little pricey, I think, but probably it’s a nice place. It looks small, but they probably have a separate area for nails. I add $ 15 for a 20% tip. So a total of $ 90 for a mani– pedi. I leave. About twenty minutes later, I start getting text messages about how this was the worst experience my wife has had. To start they do not even have nail salon chairs. The chairs that they do the nails are the same for the hair services. Since they don’t have the water bath on their chairs, they bring over the water bath separately. The one you can buy at Walmart. Homeopedics. No separate room, just a cramped space at the back of the salon. No nail salon chairs with the attached bath for the feet, and certainly no back massage options on the hair chair. Ok, not sure where the $ 75 is going. Maybe the service itself? Nope. The technician treating my wife was in a huge rush. It was not at all relaxed or courteous. Just going through the motions as quickly as possible. She did shape the nails for the pedicure before applying polish, but not for the manicure. She just applied polish. It was so sloppy I had to go back to the Red Door Spa to request nail polish remover so that we could clean my wife’s hands from the excess polish. When my wife got out of this place, she was on the verge of tears with how upset she was. I feel like for $ 75 she should have gotten a good experience at least. I was surprised that this place is so bad at doing nails and yet charged so much. It was also odd that the lady doing the nails had to stop doing someone else’s hair. It’s the same person. So basically a hair salon thought it would be a good idea to start offering nail services without having a dedicated area and staff to provide the service. And they didn’t have enough time to provide the service. They were apparently trying to close the salon by 5:30. We were not aware that we were near the closing time. I think if there wasn’t enough time to do a good job(never mind the fact they don’t even have the right chairs) they should have just said so and we wouldn’t have had this awful experience. Instead someone decided that it would be easier to make a quick buck and provide a very poor service. I am disappointed on all levels with this place. My wife usually loves doing her nails.

I had a black tie event and had missed my hair appt at another salon when I walked into Salon Allous off the street in a rush — they took me in right away and got me out the door looking fabulous! I was very appreciative and I think it says a lot about their customer service, I’m looking forward to going back, with an appointment this time :-)

Have to agree with the post regarding Rita. I make a point of avoiding the place when she’s working as she has no idea what she’s doing when it comes to curly hair. She is very nice and friendly, but get the father, Dickram, to cut your hair. He is fabulous
