I had a great stay at the American Guest House! The people were as friendly as could be and welcoming as well. I had only heard good things about it before I stayed there, and everything good thing that I was told was true! They gave great recommendations of places in DC, whether it be museums, restaurants, or parks to just stroll around in. But I do recommend having the breakfast there as many mornings as you can because the chefs are just impeccable! And accomadating! The house itself had a very homey feel, and it was 1000% better than staying at a chain hotel. Overall, I would say it was one of my best trips to DC, and I would definitely stay there again!

Chef Kevin and the rest of the AGH staff took great care of me. I keep to a plant-​based (vegan) diet and Kevin accommodated me each morning with a different veggie-​based breakfast. It really made being on the road a whole lot better than staying at a large hotel for both price and the personal service I received.
I stayed in room 402, which is small, but was certainly big enough for just me and my 3 day stay. I’ll gladly come back and stay again!

Stayed there as an alternative to a conference hotel. The room (2nd floor) was small-​ish, but clean and comfortable. The staff are very pleasant and the breakfasts were wonderful. The whole place is quietly charming. Recommended.

Falls Church, VA
We had a lovely and hospitable stay for valentines day weekend. The building is charmingly old-​fashioned and our hostess (who is also the chef) was friendly, accommodating and made delicious custom breakfasts for us. Walking distance to Dupont circle and thereby also the metro. A nice change of pace from a regular, less personal hotel experience!

Jonathan and Joseph were wonderful innkeepers. Light, engaging chat. A delicious, healthy breakfast. A clean room and comfy bed. Will definitely stay there on a future return to DC. The location is ideal — great neighborhood and close to public transit. The kicker for us was the price… best value we could find in DC.

This reconfigued old home is in a lovely Adams Morgan residential neighbrohood right next to the Du Pont Ciircle so restaurants and shopping are in easy walking distance. It’s also close to the Metro for getting just about anywhere. The Guest House is safe and comfy for a single woman. The room I had was small, but very adequate for one person. There are books in each room for casual reading. Curling up with a book in the vintage bed really put me in the mood of being in a past age. You don’t really feel like you’re traveling alone when having breakfast or chatting with other lodgers in the parlor. The staff made me feel welcome and was always available to answer my questions. I especially appreciated the off-​season rate I got in March.
