The Artful Gallery is not your typical gallery. It’s you and the art. The Artful Gallery appears to be a home that has been turned into a gallery which makes it an intimate and charming space to view art. When you first walk in the paintings on the wall jump out because the hallway is so narrow. Once passed the entrance there is a small viewing room filled with paintings. In this room there is more space to move around and review the work. The second room in the gallery is the largest and gives you a chance to step back and take it all in. There is a kitchen and a patio area attached to the gallery that was open when I was there for opening night but I am not sure if it is open on regular days.
I was there for the opening of New Orleans: Spirit a’ Risen exhibit that featured street artists from New Orleans. If you are looking for art and want to do some good check out the website of the Artful Gallery and purchase a painting from one of these wonderful artists.
