I had an opportunity to go to an event here, and genuinely enjoyed myself. An art gallery is only really as good as its art, and Artist’s Proof(mostly) delivers. Artist’s Proof is a rather spacious place on Wisconsin Ave. north of the main Georgetown strip. Parking is a pain, as it is anywhere in the area, but it wasn’t that difficult in the evening. The location itself is rather easy to find, thankfully. The artists here ranged the gamut. I was a big fan of Nenad Zaric’s work, though many at the event found it a bit depressing for being so prominently featured on the main level(their loss). Le Son’s work was equally excellent, and it really stood out in terms of quality and carefulness. Hikaru Miyakawa’s work is also worth a look, depending on your taste. I found myself less of a fan of Mark Hopkins’ and John Stango’s work. Consider it a personal taste thing. Can’t say I was very impressed by anything Peter Skalberg did either, though I have a personal revulsion to the idea of stencil work being put next to work of some of the people listed above. All in all, great venue!

Everything about this gallery is wonderful! Peggy and her staff are warm and friendly and really love what they do. The gallery itself is such a beautiful space and they often have talks, performances and workshops which are so enriching and informative. We were true newbies to the art world before setting foot in Artist’s Proof but we have now bought three lovely contemporary pieces from them. Peggy isn’t like other gallery owners who are only keen on making a sale, she takes the time to understand what you like and truly gets excited about the artists that she represents. We’ve been to other galleries in DC but Artist’s Proof is still our favourite!

After living in Washington D.C. for over 7 years, I had almost given up on my search for a sophisticated and edgy contemporary art gallery. After stumbling across Artist’s Proof on Wisconsin(between P & Q), I was so delighted to see a brilliant gallery like this in D.C. The staff were splendid and made me feel like I was their highest priority. They toured me through the entire space and educated me on all the artists I expressed interest in. I am pleased to have settled on a painting for my living room with the help of their consultation. I would 100% recommend this gallery if you are looking for a contemporary piece of fine art.

A nice gallery, good variety of contemporary works using different mediums. I visited for a private function and had never been to the previous location. For this event it was a bit overcrowded and difficult to find the stairs to head to the second floor. They may want to work on the flow of the gallery in terms of going from room to room since it was necessary to backtrack to see the second floor. But overall, it is a fun space and a great location.
