Big fan of Betsy! It’s a cute little rooftop patio right behind(and attached to) Belga Café. The bartender told me they opened this summer but have done zero marketing – it’s strictly been word of mouth and I love that. Reminds me of the intimate patio bars in Austin where I’m from. I’ve been twice now and there’s only been one other couple there. I’m sure within a month this place will be packed, but right now I love that it’s pretty empty. You can’t enter through Belga. You have to walk around the back alley, which makes it pretty fun and secluded. The bar menu is fantastic – I’ve tried the Basil Margarita, a berry flavored Moscow Mule-type drink(vodka and ginger beer) and what they call their Up In Smoke(with single malt scotch). They’re drinks are deliciously authentic! I haven’t tried the menu yet(which is very similar, if not the same as the Belga Menu), but it sounds like they’re expanding it with some Besty-specific menu items. I’ve been twice for Happy Hour and had a wonderful time. Going again next weekend to try the food. Highly recommend! But don’t tell too many people ;)

Cool little spot in the back(and on top) of Belga Café. Menu looks similar to its parent restaurant but with a dedicated kitchen. It’s a very nice place to enjoy an expensive drink al fresco. The entrance can be a bit difficult to find. It is back the alley mid-block a couple of doors down from Belga. You then turn left and ascend a staircase. Not sure what the plans are for a winter but would definitely recommend a stop for a pre or post dinner drink while the weather holds out.
