The fries are cold from the start when I got my food. Well done burger is well charred. I don’t like complaining to certain types of people, so I ate it. The tea was empty… so I had to get soda…$ 12 bucks down the drain. Burger was alright. Might not come again.

I recommend the beef Wellington, ahi tuna or the Greek!!! Clean fast and really just the best food.

So I hit this place up on Memorial Day and it wasn’t too crowded. I ordered a double cheeseburger, medium with everything on it, and garlic fries with a vanilla bean shake to drink. They handed me a buzzing coaster and I waited about 10 – 15 minutes as they cooked it up right then. The patties were way bigger than expected, the toppings were fresh, the garlic fries actually had garlic mixed in(not just garlic powder), and the shake was a nice way to end the meal. If I’m in the area again, I would definitely hit this place another visit.

I ordered a medium burger with bacon, cheese, tomato and the«spice it up» option — seems pretty basic — but the burger was rare and the bacon was cold and burnt. My GF order the guacamole burger cooked medium and it was very well done. We also ordered a side of onion rings that were burnt. The guy taking the order felt it was more important to take the call-in take out orders before the customers standing right in front of him. It was fairly busy, but the staff seemed confused about what they were doing behind the counter. We went to BGR a few times when it first opened and thought it was very good(maybe 4 stars), but we are unlikely to go back after this experience.

Although the service is super nice, be prepared to wait. The burger took about a good half hour to make. It was my friends burger and it looked pretty good but it is on the more expensive side. Just a note!

My favorite go to spot for a great burger. The burger is always good and those sweet potato fries are fantastic. I highly recommend this over the new burger spot that just opened. No shade just being honest.

We had lunch here one day while we were on vacation and we loved it! The service was exceptional and the food was great, they even had some great local craft beers on tap. The burgers are great! the sweet potato fries were great! and the shakes were great! The guys working there were hilarious and were joking around with my kids, especially one guy that we took a photo of him with my kids! We stopped at another BGR Joint on the way home in Virginia and it was good but not as good or as much fun as we had at the Dupont Circle BGR Joint!

I grabbed lunch with my dad for lunch on a Friday and he chose this place randomly as we walked by but I was like hey, I love burgers(Bobby’s Burger Palace, anyone?) so let’s give it a shot! We both left pretty disappointed. Scratch that, we were pretty disappointed as soon as we got our food. We ordered 2 burgers with onion rings and garlic fries at the counter and got a booth while waiting for our buzzer to go off. Once it did, I went up to get the food and the cook, I assume(you can see the open kitchen), showed me which plates were mine and then, pointing at the burnt onion rings, said, «If these are too overcooked for you let me know and I can make you a new batch.» Excuse me. What? You’re basically telling me you know you messed these up but didn’t feel like making it again unless I complain? Since my dad and I didn’t have a lot of time, I just smiled and said it’s fine. They definitely were«overcooked» a.k.a. burnt and half were inedible. The garlic fries, while they smelled really good, were actually just regular fries with some garlic sauce poured over 1⁄3 of the serving. So 1⁄3 of the fries were garlicky and soggy and the rest of the plate were just regular fries.(Side note, if you want real garlic fries, Gordon Biersch is the spot). The burgers were very very average and my dad said they appeared to have been pre-cooked and heated up because the grill marks looked old. Not sure about that, but again, average overall and definitely not planning to come back.

Good place for burger and the grilled asparagus is divine but overpriced in my opinion.

Just like all the other Burger joints overpriced normal tasting burger. I’m giving this place an extra star because the customer service when I went was phenomenal. Too many other good places to go nearby.

I ordered the Salmon BLT(without the bacon), garlic fries and a drink. It came to about $ 20. Overall, the food is good here and the service is great. The portions are huge and the food is fresh. Menu: They offer a nice variety for any burger-lover. They have cool spins on veggie, beef, chicken, turkey, lamb, salmon, tuna and pulled pork burgers. They have plenty of toppings to add on and you can add a side salad, traditional or sweet potato fries, grilled asparagus or onion rings. They also offer a few other options for kids like hotdogs and chicken tenders. You can get shakes here as well. Food: This is probably my second time having food from here. Today is was a little underwhelming. The ice machine wasn’t working so I had to drink room-temperature tea lol. My garlic fries had GREAT flavor and they give you whole roasted cloves of garlic! This made me happy! But they weren’t hot :-(They were almost cold. My salmon burger had great flavor but was missing something. Maybe the bacon? Im not sure. But they do give you two freshly grilled salmon steaks, not patties, so the food is fresh and they don’t skimp on the portions. I’d come back. Location: It’s located on a busy street and parking is extremely limited, but it’s within walking distance of the metro.

I was here last month when their special burger was the Buffalo Bacon Blue. A burger with buffalo sauce, bacon and blue cheese and I got it as a ‘box set’(fries and a drink.) I felt the burger was missing a little something and after looking at it, I knew it was: bacon. So I went back up and got a couple bacon strips on the side. The burger was a lot better with the bacon, the blue cheese was pretty bland and could have been a little spicier. I got the regular fries and they were pretty good. When I’m going to splurge calorically I’ll probably end up back here to try their ‘masterpiece’ burgers or see if their BOM is interesting.

I am obsessed with this place. First off all, the prices are amazing for getting a HUGE cheeseburger and a HUGE side of fries. You can watch them make your burger and it is really great quality for being a fast food restaurant. If you love garlic, get the Garlic Fries. They are so good! You won’t regret it!

Everything here is underwhelming. The food is two stars but the service was decent. This my first time at BGR so I went with the classic burger with the works. Other than the works(lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and their special«mojo» sauce), all other toppings cost extra — which can really add up if you like extra stuff on your burger like I do. I ordered the burger medium, but it came out horribly overcooked — not quite well done, but definitely closer to well done than medium well. Maybe my taste buds were having a bad day, or they were having difficulty stomaching a rubbery burger, but the burger was bland, the bread was dry, and I don’t even know what to make of the mojo sauce because that also didn’t taste like anything. The burger is also difficult to eat because of the thickness of the buns. The only saving grace here is the fries. If you like«meaty» fries(aka thick), these fries are for you. We ordered a side of garlic fries which was enough to share with 2 – 3 people. When I’m craving a burger in Dupont Circle, I’ll be sure to walk the extra couple of blocks to go to Shake Shack.

First time here tonight. I had the grilled chicken«burger», probably not the best choice in a true burger place. It was decent, got the mushrooms on top. The bun kind of overwhelmed the burger. Sweet potato fries were delicious! Next time I want to try the Greek burger or the Ahi Tuna burger, nice spin on burgers! I’ll be back. A little pricey though, the extras on your burger can add up!

5-star amazing service! The guy taking our order was patient and even checked back with us if everything was good as we munched on our meals in our booth. Burgers at this location were alright– it was slightly lacking compared to the BGR burgers I’ve had in VA. It was not as tasty or flavorful. Im not sure how this could be, but it wont keep me from visiting again. I love how they have a seasonal option since new things always entice me. This month’s seasonal offering is an apple, brie burger which I will have to try before it changes!

I ordered my burger at 7:50PM. It’s currently 8:20PM. It does not take 30 min to make a burger, especially for a place that specializes in making burgers. In the time it’s taken them to cook one burger, I’ve written 3 negative reviews(Facebook, their website, and now Unilocal). Oh! The employee is also frustrated! He just threw something onto the ground — such a welcoming environment. Never coming back here.

I have heard lots of rave reviews about this place, but it didn’t quite hit the spot for me today. At $ 9.99, the Burger Box gives you everything you need — burger, fries, and a drink. Done! However, there are some interesting options on the menu like Ahi Tuna or Wellington burger that tempted my adventurous side. I love that they don’t skimp on the meat patties here, but I found it too much in comparison to everything else on the burger. But if meat is your thing, then this is the place for you!

I’m drooling thinking about their menu. Happened to stumble upon this place on Saturday 5 minutes before the rest of DC did. I ordered the burger with jalopenos, sunny side up egg, and bacon. YUM, i wish the egg was more yolky but it was still great. The onion rings were possibly the best I’ve had. I also tried the wellington, which is seriously what everyone should order. If you’ve never eaten here, try it. You will never go back to five guys, in n out, shake shack, etc.

Henceforth I shall refer to this establishment as FRJ: The Fry Joint. Seriously, these might be my new favorite fries in all of DC, better even than my previous champions at Amsterdam Falafel. Delicious meaty fluffy sticks of Yukon Gold potatoes perfectly fried to be dark and crispy and flavorful, so much that I almost felt guilty dipping them in ketchup, they didn’t need any help from condiments. These would make Bobby Flay and Bart Vandaele weep tears that taste of aioli and defeat. As for the burger itself, mine was just a tiny bit overdone past my medium rare order, but still juicy on the inside and on a grilled sesame seed bun, the only worthy mode of transport for burgers to get from the plate to my mouth. Passable but not a game-changer in my DC burger paradigm. Off the top of my head I can’t think of another top-notch burger place near Dupont, so BGR definitely fills a key niche, but I’d still rate it a rung down the burger ladder from Burger Tap Shake or Thunder Burger.
