Walked over to this place last weekend. Very nice atmosphere inside, and great service but we were very disappointed with the food. We checked the menu online ahead of time, but when we got seated we were told that they updated their menu that week and we were only allowed to order off of the left side of the menu. That left us with just apps and burgers. Everything was just too heavy and very much over priced. Not sure if I would come back for food, but maybe for a drink with friends.

I typically go here for the $ 1 off happy hour pints because they have a pretty great draft list! I’m also a huge fan of their fries, pretzel & house-made mustard, and their grilled cheese & tomato soup. As a CUA student, I’m happy to have good beers nearby to campus!

This place is getting better. Really bad when it first opened, but they’ve adjusted based on the neighborhood. Still, every time we’ve gone, there’s been some mistake in our order(usually in the actually dish… e.g. Once, I bit into a rock hard uncooked lentil in my beef burger bc they said the lentils were stored above the griddle. Mmmk.) This is best for an after work drink and a bite at the bar. Not so much for a sit down meal. Also, they really need to educate their staff about discriminatory policies… Today I called to ask if service dogs were allowed in the dining room(they are always allowed, I just wanted to call to make sure there would be no issues given that some restaurants seem to be unaware of the law). The person on the other end said«yes, but make sure you show the correct paperwork.» According to ADA guidelines«staff are not allowed to request any documentation for the dog.» Lol. Eh that is a lawsuit waiting to happen…

It can get slightly expensive depending on what you order, but definitely not bank-breaking. I’ve never been unpleasantly surprised by the check before, unlike with other places(like Busboys and Poets across the street), and the food is delicious! I also appreciate their in-between hours menu since it’s still substantial(this is their ‘bar menu’). I got it I went in around 4pm. Their full menu, from what I remember, is also great. Make sure you try the sweet potato fries. Our server was polite and efficient, though the service was a bit slow when we got in, since the place was busy. Another time I visited, I got a lot of beer samples, and the server was knowledgeable about taste and their selection. Though I’m no beer expert, it was great to talk to someone who could explain different types of beer and their tastes, in an understandable way. I can only say that I wish this place existed when I was in college! I give four stars because sometimes it can get too crowded, though I suppose it adds to the lively atmosphere. I will say, though, that I rarely have to wait very long for a comfy table.

Very good food. Reasonable value. Service a bit slow and I had to ask for refills. Woulda been four stars if service matched the food.

Brookland Pint gets a 3.5; I liked this place, but I didn’t love it. But, my heart tells me that I can learn to love this place. I know, a subjective statement for a review, but I enjoyed my experience here. We were here for a friend’s birthday and we had a great time. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Our server did the best she could helping us with our indecisiveness and made accommodations for all of us. But, the food was just okay. I ordered cashew lamb patties with fries and another friend had the lobster risotto and she didn’t even finish and did not want to take it home. So, the food gets a 3 rating, but the atmosphere and service gets a 4.5; I would definitely come back and focus on the bar-ish food and, of course, try more beer, at which they have a great selection!

Came on a Tuesday for dinner. It’s «Kids eat free» night so be prepared for a little wait, 15 to 20 mins, and lots of toddlers and families. Did a tasting of beers from DC and MD that were really good. Had the Chef’s Choice burger: sauerkraut, thousand island and swiss, basically a Reuben with a burger. It was very lacking in flavor, the sauerkraut had no bite and I had to check to make sure there was actually cheese on it. The sesame teriyaki wings were much better, big meaty wings and a nice glaze. We split the spice stout cake… Very gingery with a good icing but it was cold, would have preferred it to be room temperature. Waitress was very attentive and friendly.

Not a bad place for some really good wings and cocktails! Definitely try the traditional fried chicken with wasabi mayo; and also the 18% beers!

I went here for brunch last Saturday with a friend, and there was no wait at all. Brookland Pint is a literal two-minute walk from the metro and right across Bike Rack and Filter Coffee. The atmosphere is casual and stylish, and there were a couple of families with children. We opted to sit inside as it was warm, but there were also picnic tables outside. I ordered the sweet potato corned beef hash with hollandaise sauce, which was delicious. I had some fries as well, which was a little bit overfried. I think this is a great addition to the Brookland area, and I hope for more restaurants to come and flourish! Definitely will come here again when I’m in Brookland.

Honestly, I haven’t experienced service this bad for a really long time. Which is a shame because the food was really good in the beer was quite good as well. I was here in town for attending a wedding, and staying in Brookland with a friend. When I mentioned that I am a vegetarian, he recommended the Brookland Pint. So my SO and I headed over there for a Friday night late dinner and some drinks. I couldn’t decide which of beer I wanted, so I decided to get a taster of the laughing dog Imperial Stout. A few minutes later, our server brings me over a pint glass. I mentioned to her that I had ordered the taster, she blinks at me, and then says, «oh. I’ll take care of the difference.» Turns on her heels and immediately walks away. So I figure, ok, sounds good, free extra stout. But then I start drinking it, and it’s good, but not what I expected. Then the SO notices that the order tag was stuck to the bottom of his glass, and it says«Flying Dog»(which is an amber ale), NOT Laughing Dog. Next time the server comes over, I show her the tag and ask if I could just get what I originally asked for. She says nothing more than a VERY curt«Sure.», grabs my beer and walks away. No apology. Nothing. WTF? She comes back a couple minutes later and silently places my drink on the table. As she’s about to walk away, I say thank you, and she doesn’t even break stride as she – again, curtly – says«you’re welcome.» At the end of the night, our server set the check on the table and simply said something along the lines of «thanks for coming in and have a great night», and that was it. Nothing about the absurd drink fuck ups or anything. Putting the above experience aside for a minute, the food was SOGOOD. We got the Bistro burger with the lentil-barley patty, and the Tofu Tower. I highly recommend both of them. What a bad experience. Very disappointed.

3 stars — one of the top 5 craft beer bars in the DC area, but hampered by food that ranges from average to substandard depending on the night. Also, cleanest bathrooms in DC. Knowledgeable bartenders. They regularly have special taps from Firestone Walker, Allagash, Founders, Perennial, local cideries, and they serve best house beer in town, brewed by the excellent Franklin Bar and Brewery in Hyattsville. Worth coming here to drink. Food has improved since it opened last year, when I probably would have given BP1 or 2 stars at most. Their Pint Burger is good but the chuck is ultra dense and a little bit gamey. This isn’t a hard thing to fix but for some reason the burger has remained consistently mediocre. They’ve run through some dishes that were wrong minded from concept — like an inauthentic mofungo that just plain tasted bad and included the wrong ingredients. Also memorably bad: a «slider» menu that served untoasted buns and tiny proteins with no toppings. The best dish by far is the house pretzel served with cheddar beer sauce. It’s great, and great with beer. A recent revisit of a fried green tomato sandwich with pimento cheese was great, and so much improved over an earlier version. If they added bacon it would be a destination dining sandwich. In general, their excellent rotating tap makes Brookland Pint worthy for drinks and an appetizer. Eat dinner elsewhere.

Wine Wednesday? Lots of people have raved about their space and food, though can we write about their HH for a minute? Wednesday is half priced wine bottles, or «Wine Wednesday,» which you may be asking… well why is that so special. Stop the sassafras, because some of their wines are RARITIES including a phenomenal white wine for New Zealand. $ 18 is a steal for this sucker outside a restaurant let alone inside one. So before you pass this up check it out for these week day themed happy hours.

I had been wanting to try this place for quite sometime now and I definitely recommend it. They have a pretty good beer selection and the bartender was friendly enough. We starts with the buffalo wings, great! My friend and I both got burger and fries, we both enjoyed our meals. I chose my own and he got one off the menu. We were pretty pleased that the burgers were good as we had been waiting to check them out for a while. Next time I’m definitely trying a dessert and getting a few drinks.

I want to like this place. It’s close. It’s got a nice décor, and I love the beer selection, but the food is mediocre. Dinner for two tonight: one beer, one glass of wine, a shared appetizer, main course for two, and dessert was $ 95.00 with tip. The food was merely okay — uninspired and bordering on poor — and the portions are small. I left hungry and dissatisfied. The beer is great. The appetizers are decent. Brunch is okay. But we aren’t going here for dinner any longer. Too many disappointing meals. Pros: Beer on tap, the pretzel appetizer Cons: Unseasoned, poorly prepared main courses. Way over-priced for size of portions and quality of good.

Beer list is great. Food is mostly good. But unfortunately the service is very poor.(This seems to be a trend looking at the other reviews.) We were there for Happy Hour on Friday, and there was one bartender in particular(I think his name was Matt) who was singing loudly, doing shots with a coworker, «sampling» the beer a bit too eagerly, and looking like a clumsy mess while making drinks.(No one was surprised when he broke a wine glass.) Eventually, one of the managers showed up to chat with patrons, and we thought we’d get our chance to complain; but instead, this guy ignored us and was only interested in telling a group of ladies how beautiful they were. We want to love Brookland Pint, and we’ll for sure be back. Hopefully this review will help them improve their professionalism and customer service, especially behind the bar.

The space is nice because there are large windows that open up so on a nice day you can sit inside but still sorta feel like you’re outside. Also there seemed to be plenty of seating options available. This place got 3 stars because the bar tenders(one in particular) were pretty rude and borderline mean. Additionally the beers seemed pretty overpriced especially for the area. Perhaps there is a happy hour but we weren’t aware of one because said rude bar tender.

Loved the vibe in this place! Sat at the bar – the bartenders were all fantastic, plenty of good beers to choose from(although they were nearly all very high ABV!), and it seemed like most people were an early 30s crowd just looking for a good happy hour after a long day of work. Got the corn dip, which was delicious and creamy and flavorful – I would get it again every time, except there are so many other appetizers I still want to try. Also ordered the special Southern Burger with pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes. It was good, but not amazing or especially flavorful. The other burgers all sound delicious though, so I will definitely be back to try everything else!

Brookland Pint is another great example of how much DC has changed(mostly for the better a mon avis) in the last 20 years. Having a good beer place near Catholic University is a real treat, no need to have to go downtown or stick only with NW part of district. A nice selection of local craft beers is complimented by a burger-influenced menu(with veg options available). I had two different IPAs, one from Hyattsville, another from Richmond. Both were very good. My colleague and I each opted for the teriyaki burger special with sweet potatoes on the side. Ample portions and the burger was delicious. An asparagus salad completed the meal, no room for dessert. One big shout out for the restrooms, which are unisex and private, with communal sinks outside. Remember guys to «take a step forward» and lift up the seat :-) Our server was very attentive and pleasant.

Holy Mackerel! Brookland Pint is a nice, new, shiny place, but I cannot hang out there very often. The beer and wine selections are mighty fine, but the asking amounts for the per glass pours as well the prices for the large-size bottles of specialty beers are up there. $ 42 for something from the Midwest? Perhaps the exclusivity of some of the craft brews justifies this, but, zowie, I was a little mortified at my tab. Tried some of the appetizers. The artichoke-cheese dip was more gourmet than most; the warmed, crusty, pre-sliced baguette which accompanied it was a nice touch. Friendly service. The barkeeps seem knowledgeable and more experienced than most. The bar room itself is not that large, and getting a seat can require a wait. The restaurant area is off to the side; it’s an odd space and feels disconnected to the establishment. Candidly, I found the dining facility somewhat cold, literally and figuratively. Almost all the walls are glass, and they are beautiful, but glass is not the best insulator in cold temps. That could be refreshing in the Summer, but I felt myself gravitate to the bar immediately upon arrival, just to be around other human-beings for inclusion and to keep warm on a January night. I want to like this spot however I have mixed feelings about it. I’ll have to return when I have saved up my nickels and dimes, and when DC’s weather is not so cold, so as to give this particular«Pint» another go…
