Capital Certified Collision Center

They are a State Farm-​approved place, so when I needed work after a collision I picked them at random off the State Farm website because they were next to the Metro. Excellent choice, it turns out. Estimate of the repairs was very quick, and they actually finished faster than they estimate the repair would take. All the work was done well, and they returned the car in great condition. Would use them again without question.

I took my SUV for a fender bender, my fault and my first ever and and been driving since 1985.
Well, I’m used to taking it to State Farm’s estimator, but CCCC will do it since they’re part of State Farms network. Also, it’s close to my home, and the Brookland Metro is literally straight out their front glass door.
Few things that was a bit annoying though:
1. I was expecting to get spoken to about the estimate and such, since I had questions. They give you the paper work of the work to be done, but no one went over it with me.
2. Work completed was good, but when waiting for my vehicle, the woman at the front desk sat their doing her tasks while I sat in the chair for at least 40 min. I think I asked her a question what am I waiting for. She says something to the fact she though the guy was still handing something for me. So lack of communication was in play there.
3. I went back recently to have some after market part put on since, I think his name is James, Asian guy, said they could do it when I asked about it on my first visit. I was told by one of the estimator’s (white guy), they don’t do it because they guarantee factor installed products. Then James I, Asian guy who worked with me before and may be the owner or one of the owners, came out and he said, sure we can do it. The estimator kinda of questioned him, then said okay. But when I asked about another item to be installed, simple install, he said again they can’t do that because of the guarantee, so it’s best to take it some place. Also, the estimator was kinda of rushing me off; from what I felt. So I didn’t like that. So I’ll just take it back to the dealer where I get my truck service anyways.
4. The Lady at the desk is nice. Shows too much attitude when dealing with some customers on the phone. Believe me I know how frustrating phone work can be. I think she’s kinda new, maybe a year, there and is now getting comfortable. I feel she gets a little to unpolished in her dealings with customers at times though.

This is the second time in six months I’ve used them. I’ve had a run of bad luck with two different fender benders. I took my car back to them because they did a nice job the first time. They finished the car as promises when they promised it. They even fixed a small dent that I didn’t see without charge. Highly recommend.

Chase, their estimator, was very professional. My vehicle was actually ready earlier than promised. Their work is impeccable — showroom condition.

I have been going here for about three years now and have always had a great experience. They do solid work at really competitive prices and are great people! I’ve gone here for everything under the sun — body work, routine maintenance, fixing major problems, etc.
Most recently I got new tires put on my Jeep and had my wheels plasti dipped black. Chris and Chase took care of me from start to finish and my Jeep now looks amazing. I will definitely be back for years to come!

i’ve taken my 2008 scion into capital certified collision twice and enjoyed working with them. they are responsive and patient, great at answering questions. they really work as a team and everyone is happy to help. they set expectations and quote costs perfectly. i really can’t recommend them enough!

So, the guys at Capital Certified Collision are nice but sadly didn’t fix the problem I took my car in for. As a matter of fact, ended up having to go to the dealer and have them look at it. Turned out to be a minor issue that Capital Certified Collision should have been able to figure out. Minor, as in a blown fuse. Instead, I ended paying for them not to fix the problem and repaying the dealer to fix it. Extremely frustrating. When I called to tell them what the issue was and that I can’t understand how their techs couldn’t figure out such a minor issue, all I got was, «I’m glad you got it taken care of.» No, let us give you a refund or partial refund. If your people don’t know electrical work, that’s what you should tell a customer. Don’t proceed to play with wiring and cause more of an issue while you’re pretending to know what you’re doing. I’m extremely frustrated with them and sadly wouldn’t recommend them, at least not for any electrical work.

I have taken my car (Toyota Corolla) here twice and both times had great experiences. The most recent time they were wonderful about calling the person who had hit me (and was paying for the repairs) while still keeping me updated on the time schedule and changes to the estimate. They explained all the repairs and walked me through the estimate. My car was also done a week before they said it would be. When I picked up the car, everything looked wonderful and they even vacuumed and cleaned the inside of my car. Excellent service.
The shop is right by the Red Line metro and the H4/​H2 bus lines.

This is also my second time back and with each visit my expectations are exceeded. I have been dealing directly with James and he has been an absolute gentleman and true professional. He quickly and thoroughly addressed my concerns. And, upon returning to picki up my car I even noticed he had it washed! Not only did Cap Certified Collision do great work on my car they were fair with pricing. I highly recommend this shop for its superior customer services and their teams detail to attention. Thanks again for taking care of me and my honda fit!

Can’t say enough about Capital Collision. The service was fast, replacing my entire mirror within an hour. I was very pleased with the quality of work and everything looks good as new. What really made this place special were the extras. The customer service was exceptional; the staff was knowledgeable and willing to explain the work being done; and they even cleaned up some scuffs in the car’s paint at no extra charge! Add that to the shop’s ideal location near a metro station and reasonable hours, and there’s no reason to go anywhere else. Definitely recommend.

Stopped by Capital Collision Center to get a estimate after my car was hit in the rear. Talked to Chase and could feel his professionalism from the very start. After Geico gave me a appointment to look at my car I called Chase and let him know they were backed up and couldn’t look at it for couple of days. But I told him I was DEFINITELY bringing the car there. Long story short the car came out beautiful! He even buffed out the cloudy film on my headlight housings which made them look like new. He also did me a GREAT SERVICE by calling in a favor from a buddy of his from Toyota and got me original parts which meant a great deal to me for my car is a certified car that I bought from Toyota and I wanted to keep it original. They have a customer for life in me. Am going to take it back and get the front bumper done and a few scratches done which he also gave me a good reasonable estimate on. Capital Collision Center not only did an outstanding job of fixing my car, but they got it done in record time! They were incredibly responsive and understood my need for expediency which was appreciated. My car door looks BETTER than it did before the accident. Highly recommend this auto repair shop (and being located right by the Brookland metro makes it very convenient)

I recently took my car here to have repair work done after an accident. The location is pretty convenient since it’s a short walk to the Metro, and there are a bunch of bus lines that you can use instead of a cab (depending on where you live).
The Repair Work
The repair work itself was of good quality. What they were asked to repair was pretty straightforward (only involved the bumper) and should not have required a lot of effort. With this in mind I was incredibly surprised by how long it took for the work to be completed: nearly two solid weeks. I could give them some wiggle room for having to order a bumper cover and for them being closed on the weekends, but that still means that it took 9 days (I discounted New Years Day).
Customer Service
This is probably the part that bothered me the most. No one from the shop called me to give me an estimate, and they began work without my explicit authorization. I guess that because they were working with my insurance company they figured that I wouldn’t care what they were doing or when it would be ready. I only found out what the estimate was by checking my claim through the insurance company. I called the shop once I saw the estimate, and the lady who answered the phone said that someone would call me back to discuss what the repairs were. No one ever called me back. I called another time and was told that they were done, but then found out that they needed some more time when I called to confirm a pickup. Total disaster.
In summary, the repair work quality was fine but the amount of time it took to complete the work and the customer service was terrible.

Just got my car back today and they did a great job fixing my car which was rammed by a cab running a stop sign.
Very responsive and finished the job on time. Would go back (but hopefully won’t have to).

While driving down New York Ave, some a-​hole crashed into me while I was stopped at a light. I say a-​hole because his stupid wife and friend were all smiling after the accident like it was some big joke, when he was going probably around 30 mph probably texting on his phone or something. Anyway, I digress.
I went to Capital Certified Collision Center to get an estimate on my car. They took me in immediately and gave me a quote on what I needed to repair. He also gave me a bunch of advice on what he thought was wrong as i had some other mechanical questions. Overall, it was a good experience and he was patient with answering all my questions.
I’m not sure if he’s the cheapest guy around, but if your insurance is going to pay for it, who really cares. He was easy to talk with, patient with all my questions, and was overall helpful.

Some idiot hit my parked car, and I had to track him down to get his insurance to pay for the damage. When his insurance, State Farm, finally accepted liability, Capital was one of the places they recommended. Capital works with State Farm, so State Farm handled all of the payments, thus saving me the typical headache of dealing with a body shop. The entire process from making an appointment to get an estimate, to dropping off my car, and finally, picking it up was incredibly smooth. No problems and hassle free!

I never thought getting my car rearended could be anything less painful than tooth extraction without novacaine. But my experience at Capital Toyota was not just painless, it was actually pleasant. Each employee was attentive and polite. Mark took as much time as needed documenting, explaining, and being very honest (without being brutally so) with me. I would HIGHLY recommend this business if you are in the unforunate collision situation. Bonus: It is ock from the Brookland metro and attached to Enterprise rent-​a-​car which makes many of the logistics of transportation much simpler.
