Kevin did a great inspection and I was very impressed after experiences with other inspectors in the past. We followed him every step of hte way, he pointed out things to us and answered any question we had. His use of thermal imaging was very useful to help capture evidence of areas that may need to be improved upon that a normal picture wouldn’t capture because everything appears normal.

We used Kevin for 2 home inspections. He was extremely thorough in his inspection and identified important areas in need of remediation. For the first house he saved us from making a huge mistake… when I arrived at the inspection I had not even gotten out of my car and he called me over to show me a sheer crack in the house foundation. he was very careful not to try to steer us in a direction, but after over 20 deficiencies — many major — we walked away and have subsequently heard the seller is putting over $ 20K into foundation repair based on the inspection. On the second house, he was just as thorough and the results ere quite the opposite. Many of the findings were minor, but still some things that should be addressed as a part of purchasing the house or shortly after.
On both he reviewed pictures including infrared images he took with us on site, answered all of our questions, and completed the home inspection report in 24 hours. He was also able to include a radon inspection even though it wasn’t included in the initial order, which enabled us to move forward with our home purchase. While he may be a bit more expensive than a traditional home inspection, the thermal imaging component lets you know in more detail deficiencies in insulation and more accurately pinpoints small leaks not detectable using traditional methods.

Kevin is very experienced and does a very thorough job. His experience and thoroughness saved us from making a huge mistake on a home purchase. The house we were going to purchase had a façade that was the subject of lawsuits back in the 1990s, and Kevin realized this shortly after he started examining the outside of the house. He explained the issue to us in great detail. After the inspection we went home to research it and found that he knew what he was talking about. His price is higher than many, but he saved us from making a bad investment, and it was worth every penny. With his infrared camera, he can literally show you the inside of the walls. His regular camera is also excellent, and the pictures in the report are clear enough to see very small details. He was able to schedule an appointment the same week we called, and returned the report within 24 hours. He has a calm and professional manner. His reports are super easy to read. We have used him three times, and I hope he stays in business as long as we need inspections!

I was under contract to purchase an older rowhouse in DC and my Agent recommended using Capital Infrared to do the home inspection. Kevin arrived on time and completed the report in a timely manner. Kevin’s report identified some important repairs that needed to be completed, and he was helpful with me during several follow up emails and helping me understand some of the issues at the house.

Kevin made himself available the day after we went under contract which was extremely helpful since we only had three days to do the inspection. Kevin spent all the time we needed going over all of the issues with the property. He was very thorough and made sure we understood how we need to go about fixing all of the problems. His report is also very detailed and will be very helpful in the next couple of months after we move in and need to get those items fixed. I’d recommend him to anyone AND the infrared camera he uses puts your nerves as ease knowing that he can see past the human eye for problems.
