Dr Blake, and her staff, are fantastic!
I’ve had had some horrific experiences in the past with some other Dentists/​hygienists, which had left me –super– gun shy when it comes to dental visits.
For some reason, oral nerve pain is my Achilles heel and so my dentist (and oral hygienists) absolutely MUST be gentle, patient and accommodating! And I can say that Dr Blake and her staff are the BEST when it some to showing the concern, compassion and gentle touch that is a paramount to being my go-​to Dentist!
When I first started seeing her, many years ago, I was a wreck in the chair… my body rigid, sweat beading on my face, and hands clenched into white-​knuckle-​fists. Now, thanks to the gentle care I always receive in her care, I’m much more relaxed, much less riddled with anxiety. And thankfully, Dr Blake is not one to hold back on the Novocaine. After years of dental work done, from cleanings to fillings to crowns, I’ve never had a bad experience in her chair.
Oh, and I should note that I have had two crowns done in my life so far, one done about 5 – 6 years ago by an equally gentle Dentist in Austin, TX. The other, done 11 years ago by Dr Blake. The 5 year old crown came off during a routine cleaning in the fall of 2014, meanwhile, the 11 year old crown, is still in securely in place! I’m sure it’s days are numbered (Ugh, the thought makes my temperature rise as I type this!), but I find it very reassuring that it’s remained locked down for more than double the time the other one stayed in place. In my book, that shows Blake does quality work!
I can’t say enough about how great Dr Blake is, and how extremely helpful and friendly her staff are. Dr Blake’s dental practice has made dental work tolerable for me, and most importantly, no longer a nightmare!

My kids and I have been going to Dr. Blake’s office for about 3 years. We have never had to wait for more than a minute or two and she and her staff are always thorough, gentle, pleasant and courteous. Dr. Blake has fixed all kinds of chips and cavities and she does a fine job. The office is clean and organized. It’s not often I give a good review to doctors or dentists. Dr. Blake’s office has been consistently good. Her office is easy in and easy out with metered parking and close to the Friendship heights metro.

Dr. Blake and her staff are the utmost professionals & have been providing my dental care for nearly two years. I was referred to Dr. Blake after my previous dentist seemed to be hesitant w/​novocaine, & left me in pain. Dr. Blake developed a treatment plan for me, repaired botched crowns, and made sure I was properly numb during my visits. She is thorough, articulate, concerned & has been wonderful guiding me through the process of dental implants. Paola, Helen & the entire staff are the real deal & going to the dentist isn’t so bad any more. Thank you!

I’ve had a generally very good experience with Dr. Blake’s office, no complaints — just straight-​up dentistry nothing fancy.
