Tasty food in big servings that is good for you! I’ve eaten here twice and both times have had the chicken deluxe bowl with brown rice, once dine-in and once delivery. It is a LOT of food. I have a pretty big appetite but haven’t finished it either time. The avocado dressing is really good(highly recommend) and the food is well seasoned and cooked perfectly. My brother had the Caribbean chicken wrap which he enjoyed. I tried it and it had a lot of flavor and a good combo of spicy and sweet. I love curry so I thought it was really tasty. His girlfriend was also with us and she got the black bean hummus bowl which none of us were huge fans of — it was about 40% black bean hummus which was a little overwhelming. The flavors were all good but just too too much black bean. Both times I’ve come here, I’ve come because I wanted Peruvian chicken and both times, I haven’t gotten it lol. Next time I think I’ll give it a shot! The people are friendly and delivery was reasonable. I’ll continue to eat and order here!

Love the delicious chicken combos here! Healthy, fresh chicken with 2 sides is a favorite. I’ve tried all the different flavorings & sauces and like them all! I eat here at least once a week for a healthy dinner.

Got a Cuban chicken bowl with guac added and a side of sweet potatoes. Amazing food, healthy, good portions and fast delivery!

I have eaten at this place twice and it was horrible each time. The first time I had Peruvian chicken. I am usually a fan of this style but theirs was the worst version that I had experienced. Dry, tasteless, not fresh. The second time I ordered chicken curry. I usually like this style as well, I ordered a bowl. It came drenched in soup mixed with corn. Again the chicken was dry and tasteless. Add to this that the waiter became upset when he saw the displeasure on my face, he was ultra unprofessional. That does it for me, I will not wait for their closing date.

As it turns out, my company has a DC office. I don’t get down here much but when I asked around the office for a recommendation for lunch, there was a unanimous response«you should eat at Chix» The people spoke and I listened. I love properly cooked chicken on the bone. Admittedly, I get a bit primitive when I eat it(if no one is watching) Something about holding food in your hands and then licking your fingers, provided of course the food is lick worthy just resonates with me. If I was not surrounded by co-workers, I would have done that with this chicken. I went with Colombian chicken with black beans and rice and sweet potatoes. Man that was a solid meal. It was delicious and tasted exactly how a well cooked chicken should. The spices to me were in the background because they really nailed the cooking of the bird. Props to that. They turned it around quick and it was a very reasonable price. If/when I’m in DC again, I’ll hit this place up and maybe, just maybe, I’ll dine alone.

While I’ve never actually BEEN to Chix, I have ordered from there! I can say their delivery service was very prompt and kind. Everything was delivered in an incredibly neat and organized fashioned too and nothing was forgot — a great and uncommon experience! I ordered the Spanish salad which was PHENOMENAL! I looked at the size of it and thought it would be too large, but ended up eating it all. I also got it with added chicken so the salad included chicken, green olives, roasted red peppers, and tomatoes. I requested no cheese and got the avocado dressing on the side. Everything was done perfectly. Would definitely return to Chix! I’m not sure if I would classify it still as the healthiest, but it is BYFAR a GREAT option if you’re looking for something quick, pretty healthy, and quite tasty!

Kind-of like Nandos, I guess. The chix chicken that you get as one of the flavors is really good. Their sides, whether it be the green beans, noodles and cheese, sweet potatoes, or corn medley all are very good. If you get a full meal, chicken plus the sides, it’s quite a huge portion and filling. On the contrary, if you just get the chicken, its actually very cheap. The sides end up costing a lot. Overall, I like this place. Good change. Verdict: Worth a visit.

I just moved into a new apartment and kept passing by Chix on the way home from work everyday, so I decided to stop by and try it. I’m a huge foodie and environmentalist, so I really liked the concept behind the restaurant. When I arrived I was greeted by a very friendly staff who helped me with the menu. I ended up ordering ¼ chicken with the spicy sauce, sweet potatoes, and green beans. The chicken was juicy and very well seasoned, but the sides were just kind of blah and honestly seemed a little old. Although I wasn’t a huge fan of the sweet potatoes or green beans, I will definitely be back to try one of their salads or wraps! Overall, great idea, awesome prices, and yummy chicken!

CHIXSECRET: Beans over Rice is considered 1 side! I always get the same thing here: Citrus chicken with 2 sides or quarter pound chicken with 2 side. i’ve liked all their sides and the chicken is always cooked well. They give you dressing on the side — always get extra b/c you’ll need something to flavor the chicken, which I find to be tasty but nothing that blows my socks off.

This place is awful, my coworkers threw away their food it was so disgusting and I got an untoasted floppy turkey bacon BLT with manchego and guacamole but the manchego was very sparse, one single strip was placed in the middle and I paid $ 8 with no side and no drink that I forced myself to eat. I will not be revisiting this place.

Chix has amazing food and just about everyone know that but what I didn’t know is that they make the best cold remedy ever: Chicken and rice soup. Forget chicken noodle. Chix’s chicken and rice soup is delicious and has just the right amount of spice to help unclog your sinuses. I discovered first hand this past friday when I wandered in around dinner time and ordered some of the soup. Needless to say the next time I’m feeling under the weather(or when i really want soup) I will be back to Chix.

This place is OK. Not sure what all the hype is, I’ve had much better. Would pick Nandos any day over Chix.

Nice, clean and chicken you wanna have again and again. A few blocks from my work and I make it a point to eat here 2 – 3 times a week. Sides are healthy and vegan and chicken is not like those dripping kind. Their Peruvian chicken is my fav with Rice and black beans as side along with zucchini.

Can’t believe I’ve never reviewed Chix before… as it has become a staple of my diet(and conveniently located outside of my gym, so one of my favorite places to grab dinner after a workout). To be honest, it’s not even the chicken that made me fall in love with this place… but the sweet potatoes and avocado dressing. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is because I’ve been pretty disappointed by their breakfasts. Just not a fan… but my boyfriend likes it so it could just be me. OH… the U Street location delivers. And they’re super fast.

I’ve been to what feels like every Peruvian chicken place in metropolitan dc area and this was by far the tastiest meal I’ve ever had of that type. Specifically ate a quarter chicken«Peruvian» style chicken + white rice /green beans. Yum

Their food is pretty good. It’s not the best chicken I’ve ever had, but its pretty flavorful. My favorite side is the black beans. My coworker and I go here for lunch a lot, and I usually get a wrap or bowl. I have two major complaints. First, the website lists Saturday hours, but I’ve come here on a Saturday and they were closed. I can’t see any hours listed on the door or anything, so I don’t know what the deal was with that. Second, one of the employees always calls me sweetie, and I hate it. He calls the men in my group«sir» or by their name(which you have to give when ordering), but he’ll always call me sweetie even when he has my name right in front of him. I think its just too familiar a thing to call someone you don’t know.

Ok so I definitely ordered @ChixDC at like 10 pm the other night because I was craving delicious hearty food that’s both affordable and can be delivered right to my door. Chix was one of the only places on GrubHub that was still delivering after 9 p.m. And I’m happy to say that it satisfied my craving. I ordered the Chicken Deluxe wrap, which came with chopped chicken, black beans, rice, lettuce tomatoes and… AVOCADOVINAIGRETTE. It was seriously so good and super filling, but didn’t leave me immobile like a Chipotle burrito usually does. I was a bit too full for my noodles and cheese(oven baked vermicelli, noodles baked with cheddar and muenster cheeses, non fat milk and topped with cheddar). I was too full to eat all of it, which was sad but fine because who doesn’t love leftovers? Overall I was very pleased :]

Went to this location to pick up my order placed through Eat24. The staff seemed a bit confused and took some time before locating my «paper» order. The manager? who helped locate my paper order wasn’t particularly friendly. He basically tossed the paper at one of the workers and told him to «get it». Overall — the food was just mediocre. The chickpea salad was bland and mushy. The sweet potatoes were overwhelmingly sweet. The baked noodle was rubbery and dry. If it wasn’t for Paypal/Eat24 promotion, I would be pretty upset if I actually paid the full price here. Not a smile, not a bye. Even if the food was better than mediocre, I wouldn’t return.

One of my new favorite go-to places to get a quick, fresh takeout meal. Although Chix may be known for its ¼ chicken and sides, I typically opt for the Mexican bowl(note: called the Deluxe bowl at this Chix. The Deluxe is the same thing but has avocado sauce instead of pick-your-own sauce. I don’t think they’d be opposed to switching it for you though.). Always add the guac – it just makes it extra delicious. I usually get one of these and either eat it for two meals or share with the bf. I have also seen people eat the whole thing in one sitting, though… Pretty impressive if you ask me. It’s not very expensive but definitely not the cheapest takeout you can get. The bowls with guac total about $ 12(including tax). But for the quality, I think it’s definitely worth it.
