Performed at the Kennedy Center this past week wife and I caught it on Sunday. NO they are NOT the other Cirque company that we all know and love. This group is totally separate and based out of Florida. Their production may not be as elaborate as Du Soleil, nor as intricate the story lines, nor the music is as dynamic but still none the less wife and I were thoroughly entertained. With high wire acts, juggling, balance and shear physical strength these performers(who come from all over the world) gave their all to put together a nice and wonderful performance with a holiday theme. There were at times a little too much going on in the stage area while you are trying to concentrate on one act. For instance a whole row of unicyclist would just blast through stage right to stage left and nothing more not adding anything to the main performance at hand. That however only happened a couple times. Not as smoothly as the other group would have done. Only a slight distraction but it did not cause major damage to the overall exhibition. The show started relatively on time and was a none stop trill till the end. Gals on Chinese Yo Yo’s(diabolo) gals on bicycles, gingerbread men flipping like crazy, a guy on a very springy loose high-wire, two guys getting bent out of shape with each other and great use of audience participation really really nice touch. There was much more to the show than I can list here. Like Cirque Du Soleil there are no animals being used in the making of this show. Unlike Cirque this show does not have a great– huge– giant budget but then again they have not been at it for as long as Cirque du Soleil. You must not forget that Cirque du Soleil also started very small at one point. This group is currently touring all across the country and they are starting to grow so keep an eye out for them in upcoming tour dates this troup is off to a good start to something big. With affordable pricing and exciting performances wife and I highly recommend this for all ages.
