Comcast Service Center

No way around it, these people are criminals. Every time they send a service person to my house, not only do they usually not fix the problem, then I get charged on my bill for the service call when I was specifically told by both the scheduler and the technician on site that I wouldn’t be charged. Comcast knows that people struggle to double-​check bills and catch these fees, plus you have to fight their customer service people who intentionally make everything impossible, so they just charge you knowing half the people won’t catch it or take the time to fight them.
i’m sure it’s in the handbook straight from corporate. These people are crooks. Oh and their service sucks, the X1 platform is full of bugs and my internet service trips out more than a blind 3 legged dog. This is what happens when we have no choice in provider in DC. They are lucky there’s a monopoly of these tools would be out of business.

They sent service out to check on my slow internet. I asked the customer service person specifically if it would cost me anything. She said the engineer would ask me first before doing anything that costed money in any way.
The guy comes and doesn’t mention or ask permission to do work that costs me money. He says he thinks it was a cord that the previous home owner attached to try and boost the internet, so he just removed it. Then he leaves (after being grumpy and short the entire time). Then I get billed for the visit. Spending time on the phone with them fighting it is so frustrating it’s almost better just to pay it rather than being angry for weeks.

This company is a complete monopoly and they know it. We bought a modem from the Comcast support website so that we could return the one that we rent for $ 10 a month. Our new purchased modem worked for months with no issues. We finally returned the rented modern (that we had not been using for months) and SURPRISE! Our internet stopped working. After two phone calls, a trio to the service center and then another phone call with a bunch of transfers, or Internet is up and running.
I will say that the customer service is always phenomenal. I don’t know how those workers do it because I’m sure they are consistently verbally assaulted do to the company they work for.
If Comcast had any competitors, I truly believe they would have better and easier service. But, they don’t.

Why do people buy Comcast? because it’s a monopoly in the DC. absolute worst customer service ever and I mean ever. if there was another option for cable and Internet service, I would gladly pay double, actually to be honest, I would pay 10x for another service. There is nothing good about Comcast.

Avoid Comcast like a plague if you can. They are terrible! Thy would seriously traumatize you with their horrible service. First half the channels didn’t work even though they sent many clueless technicians. Second, they locked me in a 2-​year contract without being aware that it was the case and then wanted me to pay hundreds of dollars when I wanted to move and disconnect the service.

After reading the reviews I was reluctant to go to this location. However, we wanted to pick up our equipment instead of waiting for it to be delivered and I loved that there was even an option to do that! SO, I tried my luck on a Monday morning and there was NO line. The attendant was helpful and I was able to add another box to my account with no problem.
It seems like maybe they are under new management since there was a TV in the main area (saw some reviews saying there was no TV or anything to look at while waiting in line) and the manager held the door open for me while insuring I had a pleasant experience.
All in all, I assume the best time to go is during the week in the morning– if you can!

Probably should be zero stars. I tried to sign up for service via phone, but the rep couldn’t do it ! Then promised somebody would call back within the hour, because the waitline was soooooo long… also promised to e-​mail a list of modems that are suitable for Infinity. Still waiting for the email and the call several hours later. The kind of service that is only viable if one has an (almost) monopoly.
Update: got a call from an unidentified third party with blocked caller ID commanding my social SSN and other personal information in slurred speech. Are you kidding me? Not going to happen.

I paid extra $ 20-​$ 30 dollars for 1 – 2 days shipping but the item never arrives. Took them 7 days (standard free shipping) to send the installation kits.
PS: DO NOT pay extra for faster shipping.

I signed up with Comcast back in August of 2015 with promises of 150mbps of internet speed and special value added offers of $ 250 for Triple Play Contract of 2 years for fees upwards of $ 180/​month. Against my better knowledge I did it anyway. From previous dealings with Comcast I knew they were not a company that uphold their end of the bargain.
Needless to say, I am still waiting for my gift card 5 months after the promised promotion and I am now locked in a contract averaging close to $ 200/​month. This organization is despicable when it comes to fulfilling their end of the bargain but yet expect to be paid cancellation fees when you want to cancel because they are not upholding their end of the bargain.
They promise internet speeds of 150mbps but don’t deliver. For the amount of money you will pay for this service you need to go to another company. Comcast is an awful, awful organization. Try RCN, try Cox, try anything but this company.

I should start by stating, I have never been to this location, and probably never will, because comcast has the worst customer service via phone and chat service (online).
I absolutely hate that Verizon Fios is not available in my new area. I had it in my previous home… for many years and never had the amount of issues I have had in the past 3 weeks, trying to become a new comcast customer. It seems they have a team of incompetent, misinformed, rude employees, equally assigned department-​wide.
I called several times, following the automated prompts, to no avail. The automated system kept disconnecting the call. Finally, I was able to get through to a live agent.
I only want internet, but they keep trying to upsell/​bombard me with other products/​services. My home is already prewired for comcast, because the previous owners had comcast service for everything (phone, internet and cable). I have my own modem, compatible according to their recommended modems, so I don’t need a technician for installation. The representative on the phone informed me that I can forego installation, waiving the fee ($ 39.99), because the setup package would come with self install instructions. HOWEVER, she was quoting a monthly price/​rate, much greater than the price/​rate advertised online. She informed that she cannot offer the same deal listed on the website, so I politely declined and proceeded to try the online registration…
Online registration was a joke, because they kept trying to charge me for installation, that I DO NOT NEED, BECAUSE THE HOME IS ALREADY PREWIRED TO comcast. :-(When I tried to speak to «Ashley,» the online chatbot rubbish, she told me new customers cannot waive installation and self-​install equipment… which was a completely different statement from the live agent on their customer service line, who informed me that I could self-​install, considering I have my own modem and the home already has comcast installed.
This company is horrible and misleading. It is unfathomable how they have become a conglomerate in the cable/​internet/​phone industry. They, not only, make things difficult for customers, but also ensure they have the worst attitudes, while «serving» customers – the people who pay their company. Piss poor customer service must be their primary mission and the second mission… wallet rape.
I would rather pay more for less with a competing company than give my money to these degenerate ingrates.

This review doesn’t reflect any particular location, just in general the service is very shitty! There have been many disconnected services in the home and home devices due to poor connection.
The error read: There is a problem with the connected service trying to fool you or third party link.
Now, why not have the automated speaker let you know that there is a problem occurring within the services connection? Instead, they allow you to hold on for more than 20 minutes to complain about the issue. Had I wanted to engage in a new service plan within the company, a representative would have been plenty!!! To HELL with Comcast Xfinity One!!! /​X1.

Their customer service is horrible. These ppl act as of they are customers themselves. I hope Karma gets them for the way they treat people.

Garbage personified. Their customer service was frustrating enough to make one suicidal. One idiot woman in «advanced support» told me «I’m not trained to walk you through any steps» when I asked for help in following her complex and ultimately useless instructions.
These people should feel ashamed of the vile, subhuman experience they give to customers. Seriously, how do you sleep at night after being SOOO bad at your job? I hope they all go to hell.

I was waiting to have a terrible experience here, but the service I received was the polar opposite of that of Comcast internet. I came to swap out my failing modem.
I came at 6pm on Monday. When I walked in, I was greeted by a worker who directed me to which window to go to. There was no line and the clerk who helped me was super sweet and fast. I was done in 2 minutes with no hiccups!
It’s very convenient that this location is right by the Brookland/​CUA metro.

Comcast is miserable, everyone knows it from their terrible customer service on the phone, and coming to their actual facility will make it even worse for you. I promise.
This location is right under a bridge adjacent to the train tracks which run through Brookeland. There are lots of homeless people milling about, or maybe they are at homeless but just look like they are, and they are more than happy to help you bring whatever equipment you have inside… I’m not sure it would actually make it inside or not but what I’m getting at is that the people around this place are scary.
Inside it’s not much better. In fact it’s so bad that they have a security officer right at the front door, which is of course very disconcerting. There is a cattle line wrapping around the interior of the space. The Comcast employees are sitting behind sick bulletproof plexiglass. There is a kiosk to pay your bill right by the front door.
While I was waiting in line, someone who looked to be maybe a job seeker was also in line, analyzing whether they had seen the same workers there previously. They were talking on the phone to a friend. Their analysis was that every employee was new and being trained.
I stopped by to return my cable box and get a cable card. They promptly gave me the wrong cable card and charge me $ 40 for a service fee change. So when I got home, they told me I should come all the way back over to this hellish place to get a new card.
I have the mail one to me instead. I think that says it all.

I’ve been a Comcast customer for 8 years. They were not the best but it got the job done, albeit at $ 150/​month.
Late last year I opened an additional account on behalf of my terminally ill father. He passed away last month & I just attempted to cancel the cable. Apparently you can’t do this online & you can only do this on the phone between the hours of 8am & 5pm between Monday & Friday. I’m almost sure they do this so they can try to keep you a customer. He’s dead!
Due to the phone only & time window of canceling I’m having to call from my office this week to cancel my dead father’s cable. Shame on you!

There should be an option for no stars! After living in DC for fours years, I’ve had to deal with Comcast for 3 of those years and had to pick them due to the apt complex. First off, one of the servicemen stole a TV in the lobby, gave me the wrong modem box and caused some sort of error where I had to call nearly every 2 weeks to jump start my service. Next when trying to return equipment for 2 of the 3 times, I would receive phone calls stating I have never returned the equipment! I live in California now and 7 months later, I get yet another phone call stating I never returned the equipment-​and this is after returning it in PERSON.
As far as customer service is concerned… I won’t get into it… But let’s just stay that it’s simply awful. My advice is if you have to have their service, get a receipt for everything, prepare to wait in the long lines and don’t be surprised with people that look like they have just been released from prison dealing as your local serviceman. Oh they are also late for every service call if they choose to show up at all!

If you live and have service in MARYLAND or VIRGINIA and you think this location will be convenient since you work in DC, YOU CANNOT PICK UP YOUR SELF-​INSTALL KIT HERE!!!
When I said I wanted to pick up my SIK rather than pay to have it shipped I was told I could go to the any convenient location by the customer service rep. They failed to mention that I should not go to any DC location since I have service in Maryland. So I ended up wasting over an hour and a half taking metro out there and then waiting in line, only to find out that I could not pick up my SIK there. They should really have informational signs to hopefully answer most people’s questions since they have these long, slow-​moving lines.
One good thing is that it is near the Metro station so that does make it convenient IF you live in DC. But my recommendation when dealing with Comcast is to do it over chat so you have the record of the conversation. Then you can call them on any misinformation they may give or promise.

The phone number takes you to the Comcast main menu. The line is super long (and moves at a snail’s pace) just to return equipment. The problem is probably because they have three tellers for 50+ people. Plus the location is hard to find and get to. Why am I here? Because they couldn’t come pick it up from my apartment for multiple days.
First things first, to get here from the west, cross over the Michigan avenue bridge (over the train tracks) and immediately at the light at the end, make a pseudo-​u-​turn. You’ll see Comcast on the right. An über from the city will cost $ 10-​$ 15. Alternatively, you can take the metro to the Brookland metro stop, which is pretty close by.
Second tip (which I forgot to do) is bring something to do. The line will be long, and there are no TVs or anything to keep you occupied. Bring a kindle or a book or some homework. Expect probably an hour wait. I’ll update my review once I finally get through this!

What is there really to say about a place that has 230 reviews and one star? So many people can’t be wrong, and they definitely aren’t.
I needed to exchange my ancient HD and DVR boxes for newer ones. I called Comcast hoping to have the boxes shipped to me, but they said they preferred that you go to the actual customer service center to exchange that. Okay fine, so I did it on the next Saturday. While there wasn’t some huge line here like on other Saturdays, the line was pretty substantial considering only two or three people were working. And then, after about half an hour, it’s not exactly great to hear that they don’t even have DVR boxes there, and that I needed to call and had it shipped to me. What? Isn’t that just swell.
The place itself is a dump, with all the displays empty and broken. This service center is just a necessary evil.
