Union Station location: Love the styles, but the staff, especially one sales man put me off Comfort Shoes forever. I have bought at least 3 pairs of shoes in the past 6mos from this company, so I would like to consider myself a loyal customer. I’m also a member of the Comfort Shoe Club, which is supposed to send me an annual discount through email for my birthday. The coupon never showed up and the sales man could not have been more apathetic about helping me. Instead, he tried to sell me white tennis shoes with makeup or dirt marks on them, insisting he could not discount them at all. He did try to remove the stain when I requested it, but he was unsuccessful. He claimed to have«no authority» to give discounts, yet he also did not call anyone of authority to help solve the problem. The next day, I called customer service and got the voicemail of the VP of Sales who did call me back. He said he would take care of this and call me back that day… he failed to call me back so I left another voicemail later in the week… a month later, still waiting for that call. Comfort Shoes has officially lost at least 2 customers forever… I can find these styles elsewhere. Good customer service and empowered employees create good, repeat business… otherwise you lose the business.

So this is the location in Union Station– not sure why Unilocal can’t find the correct location. I was in town for a conference and failed to bring the right shoes with me, so I found myself looking for comfortable, professional looking boots in a hurry. The two associates inside greeted me politely and asked if I was looking for anything specific. at that moment, a pair of shoes caught my eye– so I said«yes, these in a 7.5». Jeff went to the back and brought those as well as 2 other similar looking pairs to try which might be more comfortable. I tried each pair on, and he had me walk outside on the marble floor to get a sense of the comfort. I ended up going with the pair I initially picked, but I was glad he offered me other recommendations. Jeff was very nice and professional, and I was in and out of the store quickly. He even sprayed the shoes for me with a weather-treatment when I told him I’d need to wear them out in order to get right back to my conference. This was my first time visiting a Comfort One store, and I will definitely stop in again to this or another location next time I’m in D.C.

I love this store, I shop here each time I come to DC. The device is great, selection is good and most importantly I find great comfortable and stylish shoes that work in my professional world. Jeffery is a good knowledgable professional

To start off — this is for the Comfort One Shoes in Union Station. They’re on the second floor of the«mall» portion of the station. I had just walked in to browse to kill some time. I was«greeted»(more like«confronted») at the door. The gentleman asked me what I was looking for. I asked if they had a particular brand, and he said they did not. Okay, no big deal. I then proceeded to ask what shoes they had to support a particular part of the foot(metatarsal). He informed me no shoe ever has metatarsal support. However, I knew that this was not the case. I can name numerous brands that tend to make shoes with this support, but only in certain styles of their shoes. I mentioned this to him, and he became visibly upset. I am now incredibly confused. «No, miss. You’ll need to buy inserts for your shoes» «Right, I know I CAN, but I just need a nice pair of shoes with support» «Ma’am, all you’ll find here are comfortable shoes with removable footbeds so that you can put in your own inserts.» «Wait, then why do I need to buy the $ 200 orthodic shoes if I just need the insert?» *Blank stare from salesman* «MISS.» “Whatever. Let me browse.“ Can we focus on how to define«comfortable shoe»? I assume I’m buying a comfortable shoe when I don’t need to remove the footbed at all. I wouldn’t call the outer-design of the shoe a «comfortable style» unless it has a good foot bed??? It should be «comfortable» as-is. That’s what I’m paying $ 200 a pair for, unless their Prada. And trust me, they’re ugly. They’re NO Prada. I waked around for 2 minutes, found about 10 pairs of shoes with the specific kinds of support I had asked about, and left. No one ever said anything else to me. Mind you, I was the one customer in there, and they had 3 people working. Bizarre. If you work in a specialty shoe store, you should probably be trained in the basic aspects of footwear and what companies, such as Birkenstock, Mephisto, Finn Comfort, Think and Born do with their footbeds to save the hassle of inserts. Duh. Whatever. I’ll go to Dupont next time.

I called to have them put a pair of shoes on hold for purchase, which they did… I went that afternoon and bought them… no big deal, right? They are getting a begrudging 1 star because the shoes that I found and researched are great. They are also getting a huge thumbs down because no one spoke to me in the store until I asked for the shoes that I had put on hold. The sales clerk slammed the shoes on the counter in front of me and said, «Is that all?» Sorry, no that’s not all. I’d like to try them on… i mean this is a comfort shoe store… what if the shoes hurt? What if one shoe has an idiosyncrasy that was not visibly evident? Anyway, my point: She was not that nice until she figured out that I was actually going to spend money there. I think that is sad. THUMBSWAYDOWN!
