Cosi sandwiches are delicious. I’ve had the chicken tomato-basil-mozzarella, the tandoori chicken, and the pesto chicken, all which are finger-licking good! Chips/carrots and a drink complete the meal for about $ 12. This particular restaurant has fast service, a spacious dining area(and a roomy upstairs). Great place to grab a laptop and get some work done while eating a delicious meal. There’s even a bathroom upstairs, so you can tuck away in a corner. It’s not crowded or rowdy, which is a plus.

If you want the worst service ever, this is your place. This is my first time at this location and certainly will never go back. Food is terrible.

Nice place to sit and get some work done. There are loungey seats upstairs. Free wifi. Yummy food too.

Cosi is a chain somewhat similar to Panera, but Im definitely a bigger fan of Panera. Compared to Cosi, Panera has better ambiance, more and tastier food selections, is better spot for studying, preferable seating, etc. Anyways. This Cosi has two floors. There’s ample seating upstairs. Separate lines for sandwiches and salads. They always have bread samples. And the employees are quite accommodating: I was dying to order a breakfast bagel with bacon, eggs, and cheese. However, they stop serving breakfast at 11am and I had arrived 5−15mins after 11am. Thankfully, when I asked if they were willing to make an exception, the employee said that he would have to ask someone.(I feel like he may have been a new hire). After inquiring for me he said okay, and they proceeded to make me a breakfast sandwich! I was quite grateful.

So this is a chain not found in any of the other states I’ve lived in nor been to(and there have been many). I wish we had these in(insert state name here)! Bottled water is obviously overpriced at $ 2 a pop but the sandwiches are $ 8 and I had a shrimp and caesar that didn’t make me sick, and the hubs had an Italian sandwich that was stuffed pretty thick. The bread is like a flatbread that is thin and seasoned. I enjoyed it!

Great place for Paleo eaters. My daughter and I enjoyed fresh greens and organic grilled chicken.

The carrots are always super dry and unappetizing. They almost never clean upstairs during the day and the bathrooms have always been a disaster whenever I’ve used them. They also never have bread out to snack on… not like other Cosi’s who keep the bread flowing. If it weren’t for their bread and soup I would skip this place altogether.

Utterly revolting. Real food is in short supply at Cosi. My salad dressing was like high fructose toxic sludge and the salmon barely qualified as food. I was left with a metallic taste in my mouth. Give this place a very wide berth.

Me and my family stopped in for a quick bite. I wanted soup and some of their in-store made bread. It was Great! ‘Nuff said about that! Not so crazy about other stuff I’ve had here before. Sauces on their sandwiches are usually heavy-handed.

Contrary to other reviews, I found the staff here to be(a little too) friendly and welcoming. I’ve found that there aren’t many tattooed girls in dc, and I’ve definitely been popular. The guy who made my bowl offered to pay to take me to Africa if I would go on a date with him! Haha. Everyone was very sweet, from the girl cleaning the restroom, to the 2 guys making the food, to the cashier. They were all wonderful. The food was pretty good too. I got a chicken adobo bowl. I REALLY wanted an iced tea, but they«didn’t have it today.» Umm… iced tea is hot tea over ice. Make me some! But it was an otherwise pleasant experience :) sad we don’t have them in SD or I would eat here all the time.

Tomato Basil soup is a great lunch choice especially in the winter. I chose the half & half option — half soup, half sandwich. I went with the chicken, mozzerella and basil. Also a good choice. Nothing spectacular, but definitely filling. Service was good, but nothing to write home about. A little disjointed at times, but they did a good job getting us through. My favorite part is their upstairs seating. It’s a great laid-back area with plenty of space.

I was ASHAMED to grab lunch there with my mother, ASHAMED I TELLYOU! We were there during NON-PEAK hours on a Sunday and there were roughly 4 staff members behind the table but somehow we still managed to wait nearly 20 minutes to pay! It’s a wonder why didn’t leave(probably because we had put our orders in already). The staff moved at a snails pace and I am unsure if any had teeth because not one cracked a smile :/Now thinking about it I hope nothing personal was going on with them… but all 4 of them… NO doubtful. The clincher… I LOVELITTLES(children) but upstairs was a more like a daycare and the booths and table a jungle gym… need i say more??? WAIT, that makes this place kid friendly. ½ star for kid friendly + ½ because my food was good = 1 star

Overpriced and overrated. Never again will I come here for lunch… only breakfast will you get your money’s worth.

Food is good, salad and pizza are fresh, well prepared and flavorful. Service is not particularly welcoming as other posters have mentioned. Some of them were absent for the customer service portion of their training orientation.

I have only been to Cosi once, and unfortunately I won’t be returning. While this particular Cosi is in a good location, the food is very average and overpriced, and the restaurant on Pennsylvania has severe sanitation issues. I think a previous poster said it perfectly when referring to Cosi as a lower quality, more expensive Panera. I also couldn’t understand why they had 6 – 7 employees running around, yet the service was terrible and slow. Worse than the food and the service is the number of RATS living directly outside the window in the«garden» area next to Cosi. A couple of weeks ago I was walking past Cosi around dusk, and I saw dozens of large rats scurrying just outside of the window on the west side of the restaurant. It is pretty apparent that the rats are living off of the trash disposed of by Cosi behind the building. Many of the rats were carrying pieces of food in and out of the holes they have dug in the ground. Cosi has since placed several traps, but two days ago I saw around a dozen rats still happily tending the Cosi garden. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Cosi. If you’re going to get food in the area, be sure to try Good Stuff Eatery and We The Pizza right next door. The«We The Club» sandwich at We The Pizza is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had.

This Cosi is far from the best one in the DC area(it’s smaller and seems less efficient), but Cosi is Cosi. This is probably my favorite quick lunch stop in DC. It’s fast, easy, not too crazily expensive, and delicious. There are specifically four reasons I eat here: 1) caesar salad, 2) buffalo bleu sandwich, 3) the different lemonades, and 4) the frozen mochas. And I love the bread that comes with the salad. What’s great for me is that the salad and bread is large enough that it’ll last me just about all afternoon(literally taking me all afternoon to eat it).

I came here pretty often when I used to live in DC. Personally, customer service was perfectly fine for me. One time one of the workers asked me if I was korean(which I am) and greeted me in korean! It was a pleasant surprise. I usually get the tomato and basil soup that comes with bread of your choice. I’m not really a soup person but this one is particularly satisfying. It also comes with bread of your choice which I love. Their melts and sandwiches are pretty overpriced in my opinion. The chicken pesto melt is my favorite, but still I don’t see why it has to be 7 bucks. The 2nd floor can get really hot in the summer. Don’t know about their air conditioning system.

Cosi is basically a lower quality Panera, and more expensive at that! The place looks pretty cozy, and I guess its the only eatery open in that area on Sunday so it was pretty busy. They had a variety of items to order from sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and coffee drinks. I waited in line for a tiny sandwich that was extremely salty and definitely not satisfying. My friend’s food portions were also very small for what they paid. The service here was not very good either. Avoid this particular restaurant, I don’t really know if other locations are better but it’s definitely not a must eat place in DC.

Just spent my morning here and it was a good experience. Coffee was good. Thought the squagel(bagel shaped in the form of a square) was really cool(in a totally dorky way). I got the jalapeño squagel and it a little too spicy for me. The whole bagel was tasty but the eggs looked questionable. like mcdonalds eggs. If I lived in DC I would without a doubt hang out at in the loft and use the Wifi for studying. As a tourist, it was a good quick stop right before I visited the Capitol. There was a strip of restaurants(some of which are very popular on Unilocal) but I really just wanted my simple breakfast foods and didn’t want to go to starbucks. One of the pubs next door served breakfast but I almost barfed after taking a whiff of the cigarette smell in the morning.
