I should have read the other reviews before I came here. I was excited to find a cosi since most have closed in the area. But first it was clear the menu was limited from what it used to be– a lot of favorites were nowhere to be found. But after a brief wait to order, it should not take 20 minutes to get the food. And that was the typical wait for everyone it seemed. What a waste of time– the food itself was then mediocre at best. I miss the old cosi.

This Georgetown café initially caught my eye because of the somewhat cozy atmosphere, but the pizza tastes like it was literally just microwaved and they charge $ 7 for it. Service was also on the slow side. Very disappointing.

Not sure why this has 2 stars. Standard Cosi. Prices are a little high for what you get, but the quality is solid, the customer service at this location has always been above average with friendly staff, and the food comes out pretty fast.

Should you set foot in here? EFFNO! I’m not an unreasonable person, I understand that the horrible service is from overworked, exhausted, down and out employees who are being paid dirt while observing young adults and disconnected faculty and staff who can afford to attend an astronomically expensive university. But its the quality of food I’m warning you about here, simply read the other reviews for horrible service reviews because they’re all true. The quality of food is horrible especially for the pricier of the«cheap fair» food you have access to on campus. I paid about 9 $ for a toasted sandwich and freeze-dried«Fresh carrots». The sandwich wait took forever and when it came out it was cold, even though it said it would be toasted, so i of course asked them if they could toaste it, then waited, then it came, a shell of a burrito/sandwich frankenstein combination, fake grill marks included even though it is warmed up in the oven, and inside… oh inside, was, well, almost nothing at all. I expected to get cheese and meat as per what i ordered, but what i received was almost a hollowed out samosa instead of the Buffalo Chicken, bleu cheese and salad it was supposed to be filled with. no, it looked like it was instead filled with a hiccup of vomit. For 6 $ you can bring yourself 20ft down the hall and get a stuffed footlong at Subway with 10x the meat, cheese, bread, vegetables. I apologized and returned it, I just don’t have that money to waste, and yes I took myself to subway.

A restaurant that provides better food in the GU campus. But the food quality varies. I have been here twice and the second time is much better than the first. It also takes a while for the food to be prepared and closes early.

Wow, this restaurant fails on two major issues– customer service and getting your order right. I talked to a lady named Tarra, who took my order and for every question I got a smirk and an eye roll. «What kinds of soup do you have?» Smirk-eye roll. She rushed me to order without taking my drink order. «May I have a coffee too?» Smirk-eye roll. And I was spoken to as if I was supposed to know the entire menu by heart, including what sides to choose, what sizes of soup to order and in what order. Instead of telling me what soups she had she made a big deal of pointing to a sign with the soups. Then proceeds to tell me what soups they don’t have. Then the order came out all wrong. No drink. Asked for drink: Wrong size of coffee. Wrong size of coffee not fixed– guy walked away. Wrong soup. I got tomato bisque instead of turkey gumbo. Got guff for eating some of my soup before figuring out it was wrong. ½ and ½ for the coffee was turned. No Splenda! I know it’s all First World Problems but in the First World I have a choice of where I will buy lunch and next time it will not be here. But on the bright side, the dude with the long dreadlocks was doing a great job keeping the place nice and neat. The décor is pleasing. The food was hot and tasted fine. Didn’t have issues getting a seat. The coffee was hot and thick without being bitter. Frankly there probably are easy training issues that would turn this place around. I saw several people going up with issues with their food order. Then my wife tells me there was a great sushi restaurant around there. Now she tells me!!!

Wow! What terrible reviews. I’m glad my experience was a little better than average. I ate here a couple of times out of necessity. The service does err on the slow side, which seems to be a common gripe, but the wait times were not insane. It’s decent sandwiches, good soups, and decent prices. I found it rather difficult to complain. Cosi is a chain I’m not used to where I’m from, but from this experience I’d eat there again.

Wow, I don’t know if I have ever had a second experience that was so completely different than my first experience. Today was much better. I went with friends who knew what to order. They recommended the half sandwich, half salad with the TUSCANCHICKENMELT on whole wheat bread and the signature salad. Both were great. I particularly enjoyed the sandwich. I was really tired of Subways meatball subs and finding this delicious, hot chicken sandwich on campus was one of the best things that has happened to me all month. I went at 1pm and it was pretty busy. I stood in line for about five minutes and then placed my order. My interaction with the employee was much better than the prior time. I even was able to ask her some questions about the menu and switch a few of my meal choices without her getting mad at me. It was about a 15 min wait for food, not ideal, but for good food totally fine with me. The chicken melt was delicious, the salad was a little on the wilted side, but I loved the nuts, cranberries, and light vinegarette dressing that was on the side without me having to ask. I would give an even higher rating, but I’m going slow here considering my prior horrible experience. I can’t speak for the other menu items, but the TUSCANCHICKENMELTONWHOLEWHEATWASAWESOME! It can be very crowded at lunch time. I recommend getting your food to go, just in case you can’t find a seat.

Service here is extremely slow! On multiple occasions, I had to wait nearly 30 minutes after I paid for my order of soup to arrive! They forget to give you spoons for your soup, gave me white instead of the wheat bread I ordered. One time, they brought out the wrong type of soup! After 20+ minutes of waiting! I didn’t have the patience to get my soup changed. The staff who bring out the orders are rude and brush by the customers who are patiently waiting for their food. My chicken blt came out cold and I toasted, twice. I like cosi food, but their service here is abysmal.

Deserves zero stars. All of the bad reviews about service, wait times, lazy staff here are 100% true. Cannot stand thinking about how long it takes.

I’m not a fan of Cosi’s in general, but I think this place does what it can. The food is expensive, and it seems like you’re standing around for 20 – 30 minutes waiting for your food during lunch time, and seating is very limited if you don’t plan to take the food back to your office. However, It’s a small place serving a campus and a hospital with very few other options that don’t require walking to Wisconsin Ave or M Street, also 15 – 30 minutes time depending on where you are on campus. Take what you can get?

ABSOLUTELYHORRIBLESERVICE!!! I have never been treated so poorly by employees at any food establishment. They literally look at you as you stand in front of the register waiting to place your order, and refuse to come over to work. The food is ok at best, but the service is abysmal.

It took about 20 minutes to get my food, but my strawberry smoothie and steak salad were both pretty good. The only thing I didn’t like was all my lettuce in my salad was the core part of the salad and I prefer the leafy part of the lettuce more. Also, my steak on my salad was cold. But overall it tasted pretty good.

Food took an extremely long time but I don’t see why everyone hates this place so much. In fact, I’d go so far to say that my sandwich was actually good… but apparently everyone else hates it so much.

Okay, my expectations probably shouldn’t be so high– it’s Cosi, what do I expect– but this place is terrible. Super slow(like 45 minutes between walking in and getting your food), really unorganized, messy, one person working while everyone else stands around and talks, etc. I like that Cosi has healthier options than the stuff in the food court but this one isn’t worth the wait.

If I could give ½ of a star(or negative) I would. I do not know who the manager is but I surely will make sure I never go to any Cosi establishment in my life again and make sure all my friends also do not go. Maybe this will send the company a message about how to have better customer service and hire qualified people… If you want horrible service, waiting for 16 mins for a tiny sandwich., that’s the place for you. 1) I came in and no one was at the register. The cashiers instead were chatting, eating, filling out some paper work. They did not pay any attention whatsoever till little line accumulated(maybe 7 people.) Then they said«One minute» and one person started to work. 2) When she did. She did so slowly. She did not smile and seemed to generally send a message that our presence there bothers her.(But ok maybe she had a bad day.) 3) I order the sandwich and it takes 16 minutes to prepare it. While they are at this task some guy comes in from the back with a little whistle and one of the girls drops everything… including my poor sandwich and goes to chit chat with him.(Well maybe it was her boyfriend and he just came back from the army. I would not mind if instance described in 1) did not happen. 4) I get my sandwich. No smile. No nothing.(But oh well. Things happen. We are not in a country where client matters all the time.) Altogether is took me close to 30 mins to get my food. Will I come back again? Never.

Seating horrible. Food is average and over priced. I think people come in because it’s something a little different from the seperate food court and I’ll admit the wood oven got me excited. NOTWORTHIT!!!

Um… hello. It’s me, again. I’ve been super busy with law school so I haven’t had a chance to write reviews lately. BUTTHISPLACEHADTHESLOWESTSERVICEEVER. I REFUSETOROTTODEATHIN A SANDWICHCHAIN. I was at the main campus for an interview today and had an hour to kill before my bus arrived, so I stopped by for a sandwhich. Two people ahead of me in line. 15 minutes in line to order. Why didn’t I just go somewhere else? My interview heels were killing me so I was rooted there. i asked for wheat, and they gave me white. My sandwich took another 15 – 20 minutes to get called for and 5 minutes to actually place in my hand. The turkey, bacon, and cheddar melt was great, but I had only 10 minutes to enjoy it before I had to run out for my bus. Note to Cosi: If you’re going to charge gourmet sandwich prices, give some gourmet service. You’re competing for college student dollars around the corner from a Taco Bell, for god sakes.

I honestly almost never bother to write reviews for university restaurant establishments, but this is by far the worst Cosi, or any fast food joint, I’ve ever been to. Unfortunately, as a student at Georgetown, I’m very limited to quick food choices. But every time I end up going here, it’s just another miserable experience. The people who work here are SOOOSLOWWW. I’m not even exaggerating — you could be the only one waiting for your salad, and it will still take them 15+ minutes. The employees are just goofing around and talking to each other when there is huge traffic at the door. It’s just unbelievable why the manager hasn’t fired everyone.

Today I have gone back to Cosi, after banning it for at least four months. I only went there because it was raining, and I wasn’t in the mood for anything else in the area(mostly fast food: Subway, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, etc). Also, there was only one other person in line and it wasn’t busy, so I had no reason to believe(actually, I completely forgot!) that it would take me FOREVER to get my sandwich– tuna melt. A few months ago, I decided to NEVER step in this Restaurant. I work in the University, and there are plenty of places to go to for lunch. The one problem is mostly price, walking distance, and how much time I have to get my food in ½ hour time and get back to my office. What I noticed about this location is this: the people that make your sandwiches, flatbread, put your soup in a cup, and toss your salad ABSOLUTELY don’t want to bother with the melts or flatbreads. They prefer to make the salads, put soup in a cup, and make the cold sandwiches to anything else. If you ever order anything designed to be HOT, you will wait at least 25 – 40 minutes. I’m not joking! Busy or not, doesn’t matter one bit. This happened to me time and time again. I have complained online to Cosi and have never heard anything back from them. I even complained in the store today(as I have done on previous occasions), upon waiting 15 minutes WITHNOONEELSE in line or waiting for their food. It was only then did the guys making food notice that they didn’t make my sandwich and began making it!!! Ridiculous! I would give them the benefit of the doubt if this was the first time. Or, if they were busy. But they weren’t busy at all and they were actually waiting for service– all four of them! And, like I mentioned earlier, this has happened tooooo many times for me, and no manager has ever made any changes after my complaints(all in all I complained three times– considering the fact that I used to go 3 times a week to eat there, this is very little). I’m hoping that any Cosi manager or franchise owner see this review and actually make a difference. Not for me, but for whoever else goes there. I am banning this place once again and will NEVEREVER go there again. I will also never EVER go to any other Cosi store. Service Sucks– period! The food is decent, not great. I’d rather go to 7 – 11(no offense).
