Literally the worst CVS I’ve ever been to. From the moment you walk in you are punched in the face with the smell of stale cigarettes that reminds you of staying in a cheap motel room off the interstate. A casual amble through the aisles affords you the opportunity to walk across disgustingly dirty carpets, worn down to grunge from years of service, with mystery spots dotting the floor that nobody seems to have ever attempted to clean up. The workers here are the epitome of disinterested, and don’t particularly care about the state of the store or whether the customer is served with a smile — or even with any eye contact. Oh, and they didn’t have my favorite Monster energy drink. Having just moved into the neighborhood from Dupont Circle, and having gotten used to the beautiful megastores that CVS pumps its money into in highly trafficked areas, perhaps my expectations were too high? Then again, I’m not looking for anything stellar here. I’m looking for a damn convenience store that doesn’t stink and where the workers are friendly. Awful awful place.

Weird hours, make sure to call before you go on Sunday night because they don’t follow the website hours as listed. The place is nice enough, they take credit cards which is a rarity for the Kennedy St district.
