The name says it all. These pies can be dangerous! When I feel like gorging, I’ll get a slice of savory and a slice of sweet. The location itself is small and dark; more of a light-night hangout than anything else. I usually get mine to-go, and will share multiple flavors with friends. I have yet to be disappointed.

I not a big pie eater but this place makes me want pies. My friends and I were headed back to our car after a very full lunch and stopped by this place just for coffee. The pies on the menu sounded delicious so we though we’d give it a try, take home for later. After a bite we ended up eating the whole thing there. We had the Banana Pancake Batter pie and the Baltimore Bomb(i think that’s what it was called). Definitely will be going back on an empty stomach to try other pies.

Quirky, fun place with bomb-ass pies. Went there with two friends, and ordered not one, not two, not three, but FOUR types of pies. We had quiche, a savory pie, pecan pie and a chess pie. We loved each type of pie, they were all very flavorful and rich. My favorites were the quiche which had goat cheese and spinach and the pecan pie which was warm, spicy, crunchy and perfect with vanilla ice cream. Towards the end of the meal we were so stuffed and happy. The slices were a little pricey but well worth it. Our server was superb and friendly and patiently explained the different types of pies and what his favorites were. All in all, I’d definitely go again.

Went with my beloved after seeing it advertised on an Public television show mentioning it being the home of the best pies around. We went to a sandwich shop for a quick and inexpensive beer and eats then walked a few doors down to THEPIEPLACE! I had the apple ala mode. It was suppose to be warm and flaky but was not exactly. Parts were hot while others ice cold. The pie was average. Now my beau however had the crab quiche. It was absolutely DELICIOUS. Full of flavor and piping hot. I will return but for a different pie and if it’s not as warm as I’d like it I’ll be sure to send it back.

Tasty hipster joint with a speciality line of sweet and savory pies plus. Almost something for every palate and a range of daily offerings. I went the day after Xmas so the inventory wasn’t peak. I wanted a blackberry pie but they were out. I get a couple of bbq pork pies(for my dad) plus one for me :-P. I also got a blueberry pancake pie to sample their sweet offerings. If you are watching your weight stay in the car. These pies are packed with flavor and content. Nothing skimpy. It’s not cheap but not really over priced considering their narrow product line. The 5 – 9 dollar range is what you’d drop in a decent restaurant for dessert so quit you’re bellyachin. Any pain will be after digesting a gob of goodness with a light flaky crust. It should be on any ones radar for a change of pace or something different from a burger joint.

Good service, good pies, good vibe. Overall pretty decent. I had a chicken pot pie that came with a salad. I came here on vacation after hearing many good things about it. $ 7.50 for a slice of pie seemed a little overpriced, but hey, I was on vacay.

First time customer… Me and my best friend are going around trying the different places in H st. The pie was good but the service was NOT. The cashier was very rude and minimal with her customer service. We saw people come in before and after is treated better. We order two pies. One with whipped cream and one with Ice cream. She«forgot» about our ice cream and charged us again for the ice cream. I paided again because I did not feel like debating with the rude cashier. To top everything off she nickeled and dimed up in front of three other customers for the dollar and change. That’s honestly very embarrassing. The Apple Pie in my opinion was dry and not warmed up like we requested. My friend liked her French toast pie. As a first time customer and based on my experience I’m not sure if I’ll return.

I had heard so many good things about Dangerously Delicious. But I decided after my visit that all those people were drunk. It’s a small shop on H St. When I came in late at night, it was quite dark. I therefore chose to eat my pie elsewhere so I could see it. The individual who helped me was nice enough. They have chalkboards with the pie flavors that are next to the registered. I selected a sweet potato pie hoping it would be as delicious as my recent first experience with this type of pie. Sadly, I was disappointed. It was okay but not great. If you specialize in pies, I expect you to have great pies. Also, $ 7.50 for a slice of pie is insane. There better be a piece of gold or drugs or something in the slice if you are charging $ 7.50 a slice. My slice definitely didn’t have any of those.

This place should have four stars easily. The vibe is cool. The servers are nice. The selections are vast. The pie is good. They just let me down on my second visit. It was two days after Thanksgiving. I wanted pecan pie. Who wouldn’t(except people with no soul, no tastebuds, or out-of-control diabetes)? I order the pie. I was in my happy place. Then, 30 seconds later, she broke the news. They were out of pecan pie. This moment was critical for their business. She could’ve saved my experience. I’ve worked in customer service before. Here were her options to salvage the situation. Option 1: «My sincerest apologies; but we can give you an extra slice of a pie of your choosing.» Option 2: «Yo, my bad, dawg. The pie is on us. What would you like?» Option 3: «I’m so sorry. If you’d like a refund, I totally understand. [after refund] Here is a couple for half off your next visit.» Not that hard. I came up with those in like 3 seconds. Here’s what happened instead. Option No One Should Experience: «We are out of pecan pie. Would you like chocolate pecan pie instead? [once she saw the look of utter terror and crippling disappointment on my face] I’m really sorry about that.» No. You are not sorry. You feel guilty. There’s a difference. I’m from the South. You only eat chocolate pecan pie to be polite in someone else’s home. No one chooses chocolate pecan pie on purpose(except pregnant women, kids with bad upbringings, and closeted Republicans). There is a reason you were out of pecan pie, but still had plenty of chocolate pecan pie. Because NOONEWANTSTHATJUNK!!! I should’ve asked for a refund. But, you just hope that someone made a tragic mistake and there’s plenty of pecan pie left. But, alas, I elected the cinnamon roll pie. Life ceased from being meaningful at that moment.

I have been coming here for ages, but never noted that there is a promotion on weekend call broke ass lunch, you pay $ 10 and get a piece of quiche and a mimosa. The quiche comes with a small salad. If you don’t eat much, then it is ok, otherwise you might want to top it up with one of their delicious desert pie. I had the crab & cheese quiche, and my buddy had the spinach and goat cheese quiche, both are delicious. We then shared a Pecan Pie with Vanilla Ice cream, and that was decadent. The mimosa is another story…

Solid lunch option on H Street! The savory pies are $ 7.50 per slice and comes with garden salad. I appreciated that the vinaigrette is served on the side, which allows you to control how drenched you want your salad to be. My STF(sausage, tomato, and fennel) could have used a tad more kick or crunch, but the sweet fennel blended very well with the ample salty sausage. I think the crust could have used a minute less in the oven, too, for a flakier version. But I am a crust fiend and love ‘em crunchy like a biscuit as well. I tasted the Spinach and Goat Cheese quiche, which was great and the filling had set wonderfully. There was also a 2 for $ 5 special on the National Bohemian beer, which we gladly partook.

I’ve been here atleast 100 times and I just realized I hadn’t reviewed yet. First, if you haven’t come in for the date night special, you’re missing out. It’s 2 savoy slices, 2 dessert slices, and 2 sodas for less than 25 bucks. I also found out(way too late) that they offer discounts to DC Public Schools employees if you have your ID so don’t leave it at home! Now for the pies: My personal favorites are the Chicken Pot Pie and the Baltimore Bomb. The chicken pot pie has a perfect blend of hearty vegetables, flavorful chicken, and gravy. The best part is that the gravy is more of a binding for the other ingredients so it doesn’t spill out like a busted butt implant when presented to you. No one likes busted implants. No one. The Baltimore Bomb is by far the thing that has kept me coming back. It’s a chess pie with chunks of Berger cookies in them. I suggest having it warmed up with a glass of milk. I swear to you, your first bite is like seeing a Steven Seagal movie for the first time.

Pies for days! Don’t go too late even though it’s open late because they will run out of the ogod stuff! Sweet: Pumpkin — hefty slice of pumpkin, crust is on point Savory: BBQ Pork — so good, loads of meat, sure fills you up! Quiche: Spinach and Goat Cheese — light and fluffy, just the way I like it

Dangerously Delicious, Part 1: After brunch last Sunday, we headed over to H Street to check DDP out, after seeing some tempting write-ups on the foodie blogs. You walk into a cool low-key space, greeted by the pie-masters themselves, who ask how you are and tell you how much better your day is about to get — and boy do they deliver on that promise! The inaugural choice was the Baltimore Bomb, filled with Berger cookies(themselves the greatest chocolate fudge delivery vehicle ever invented), crushed up and baked into a vanilla chess filling and served à la mode. Yes, I made a noise when tasting that first mouthful — dangerously delicious indeed! Dangerously Delicious, Part 2: Too full to have another piece but desperately wanting to try out another one of their pies, the kind young gent behind the counter packed up a whole apple pie, which I shared with the folks at work the next morning. No exaggeration: the best apple pie I have had in years. Not too sweet, with the right amount of cinnamon and spices, the tart apples piled high, encased in an ever-so-flaky crust. What I really liked was that the filling wasn’t goopy — the apples were the star of the pie. Needless to say, the pie barely survived once I set it out. It’s probably a good thing that DDP isn’t closer to my house but, that aside, I’m very much looking forward to trying out some of their savory pies as well — stay tuned for the next report!

Come here and get the Baltimore Bomb and you’ll know what this place is all about. I’m all for a late night pie spot that serves alcohol too. But I can’t say this place has the best pies or that it even has«dangerously» delicious pies. I thought they were good, but not enough to warrant a steady craving for the pies. The Baltimore bomb was great though, cookie taste with gooey chocolate. Try this place late night, after a dinner to start some binge drinking or to end your late night debauchery.

Service was friendly about taking our to-go order, but it wasn’t until we had left that we realized the top of our pie slice was a little scorched and tasted of oven residue. I would rather have had them stick to some standards and tell us they were out, than get served this reject slice. Very dense base crust and thick side walls make it resilient under lots of filling, but we definitely needed a metal knife to cut through it. Strawberry rhubarb filling was just okay. I’d have to visit the Baltimore/Chinatown/truck locations to try the other flavors that piqued my interest: Guinness steak, bbq pork, quiche.

If there is one person I know who is a pie enthusiast, it would be my fellow Lady Mafia sister Natasha U. One of the highlights of my trip to DC was visiting Dangerously Delicious Pies with great company, Natasha U and Jim U. I didn’t quite know what to expect from the restaurant. All I heard was raves about how good their pie was. I was surprised to walk into a dark, rocker, hip pie spot. The place is small and there were no tables for 4 available so we agreed to sit lined up at the counter. The seating arrangement worked out fine and actually broke the ice between us and the tough interior of Dangerously Delicious. The service was so friendly and welcoming. If I were a local, I would totally come back for their specials and signature pies. There are so many pies to choose from and not all were sweet. Unfortunately, savory pie was out of the question for the night. If it weren’t, I would have loved a slice of pot pie! We went to Dangerously Delicious for dessert. I was able to try the Baltimore Bomb and Marionberry. It’s a toss up which one I liked better since they are like night and day. I loved them both. The Baltimore Bomb celebrated Baltimore’s local Berger cookie. The filling was cakey cookies dipped in chocolate mixed into vanilla chess filling. Marionberry was a special that day. The slightly tart blackberry hybrid is native of Oregon and was a berry entirely new to me. It was something different but still safe in the category of berry pies. I really enjoyed the pie night. For dessert, it was a nice change from the typical dessert choices(ie. cheesecake, chocolate cake, ice cream).

Savory pie and sweet pies after a night in DC is perfect! There were so many choices to pick from, but the fact that I went at the end of the night limited my choices. They ran out of some of the pies I really wanted to try, but that didn’t stop my from pigging out on some pies. I tried their Baltimore Bomb and this was soooo good. They gave you the choice of a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream and of course I picked the scoop of ice cream. It was a vanilla pie filled with a delicious, slightly chewy and sweet vanilla filling. I would highly recommend this pie. I also tried their key lime pie. I thought that the key lime was okay. It was too tart and sour for me. The seating of this place is super tight. It was hard for all of us to even fit in this tiny place. We ended up sharing seats and people were crammed in tiny tables. They have an awesome special, from Mondays through Wednesdays, that is worth it. You can get two savory pies, two non alcoholic drinks, and two sweet pies for 22 dollars! You basically get a free pie and two free drinks. I wasn’t hungry enough to get this though, but ended up paying 15 dollars for two pies.

Dayum. That Baltimore Bomb though. Three stars is because when you are a niche pie shop for which people travel, do us a favor and serve all your pies on plates. Don’t give us this cheap plastic crap. If you want to add $ 0.50 cents, I don’t think you are going to lose customers. You have a unique market. All the pies are delicious but I really crave a better presentation, some warmth, a dollop of fresh whipped cream as a choice and the associated sense of comfort that pie is supposed to have. The owners really could do a bit more to set themselves up for better ambience, especially when they are doing pies like«Baltimore Bomb». Come on hun! Other delectable options: Pecan. Yes. Traditional is us. Chicken pot pie with salad: love it. I’ll be back sniffing out the crab options. Apple Cinammon Chess was a bit of a miss in my opinion. The offending feature: too much chewy dough.

I see why this place is called Dangerously Delicious. It lives up to its name as it can be dangerous to consume more than one slice, if you’re watching your waistline, and it is very delicious! There is nothing like a good slice of Americano. This place was founded my Rodney Henry, Food Network Star Season 9 finalist. He was actually one of my favorites on the show. The atmosphere was fun, vibrant, and playful. The staff was very welcoming and made you feel at home. There were numerous savory and sweet options to choose from. The names of the pies are very playful and you may have to ask what actually is in them. I ordered the French Toast with a side of ice cream. You can pick either whipped cream or ice cream. The pie was amazing! A little sweet and rich, but it was delicious. Will definitely be back to try the savory pies.

Seems like every time I turn around there’s a new food fad springing up. Cupcakes? Overpriced and overhyped. Cronuts? Sounds like a disease. Ramen? Come on, dress it up however you want, it’s still the stuff of late-night college study sessions. Pie, on the other hand, is no fad, and Dangerously Delicious has staked out the tastiest claim on the market. Whether you want to make a meal of a savory pie, snack on a sweet pie, or roll out of bed and nibble on some quiche, they’ve got you covered. Unless you show up very late at night each category usually has six or eight choices, so only the pickiest eaters will be left wanting, and each slice of pie is enormous enough that it only takes one to make a meal, meaning you’ll need to make several trips to try all the tasty varieties. My personal favorites are the signature Hot Rod potato pie with bacon or ham and the gooey custardy Baltimore Bomb. The restaurant itself only has a few tables and a counter so takeout might be your best option on a busy night, but this place makes for a great stop before(or after) a night out on H Street.

So I have wanted to try this place out for some time now. I mean, how could one go wrong with a blame pie? Exactly. There is no wrong doing in my book, right, right? After imbibing down the street for Sissy’s birthday, I needed something to make this raining day bright. Enter D cubed(Ha! I crack myself up) The interior is pretty dope, counter seating, tables all up and through, kinda tight though, music is definitely a foot tapper. Menu is on the wall next to the cash register, and you have several choices between the sweet, savory, and quiche type of pies. Sooo after perusing the menu, I decided on a pumpkin pie… Sissy got the crab and cheddar, I think it was a quiche. The server was pretty dope, great customer service, we took a saddown and waited for our pies. The wait was minimal, the pies were of nice size, since my pie was dessert that’s all I got. Sissy had a small salad with hers. The pumpkin pie was good, can’t say it was like over the top like the bomb dot com/wowza or anything, but it was good. Sissy’s pie was good too, I think it was a bit too eggy for my preference, but since it was a quiche(at least I think it was) I guess that is to be expected. It totally brightened my day a bit. I’d go back again to try some more things out. They have specials on specific days that I’d like to try.
