The inside of the building is quite clean and the seats are good. I must echo the same comments from another reviewer. Staff — Rude and condescending! Parking — Prepare to pay $ 20 plus for parking or take your chances with the parking meters. Outside of building — It is to small of a space to accommodate thousand of people coming out all at once after the graduation. Driving — Well good luck! Staff — I need to repeat — Very rude! They should move the graduations back to University of MD, College Park

Nice interior, and seating. I’m sure the building use to hold nice, memorable events for patrons. The service received at a graduation ceremony could have been at minimum respectful for the special occasion for families in attendance. It was almost as if you were asking them to run a marathon when we asked for paper towels as the bathroom did not have any and a family member was in need of medical attention in the form of a wet cold cloth to their head. In addition to our family’s challenges contending with rude and lazy staff, once seated we realized a large percentage of other family’s whom asked a question were answered in a condescending tone so we were not alone in the disappointments of DAR. Perhaps the staff were part-timers and not their regular staff. Regardless they were inconsiderate to anyone who asked for their assistance. Parking is horrible around DAR as well. Maybe one can try their luck on Metro to get to their event at DAR… however, quality of staff at Metro too has made that not a reliable means of transportation like it use to be. Single tracking, fires, smoke, and shootings and stabbings should make you reconsider that alternate means of transportation and just pay the $ 25+ parking several blocks away. Sorry to be such a sour puss but D.C. has begun to deteriorate in terms of an enjoyable place to visit. Add DAR to the list as another reason why our family limits itself from traveling to the Nation’s Capital of incompetencies and deficiencies.

There are always great shows at this venue. I only wish that they could do something about the acoustics. The sound is always off, also stop cramming 5 people into the box seats that are really built just for 4.

I’ve been to DAR3 times. The 1st was for my grad school graduation, the 2nd was my twin sister’s grad school gradation and the 3rd was for the Royal Comedy Tour show. We sat on the floor in row GG. The seats seem to be fine during both gradations, but the seats were very uncomfortable at the comedy show and I almost got whiplash from having to move my head side to side so I can see the comedians with the distorted view caused by the people sitting in front of me. The hall itself is lovely, but the seating is awful. Next time I will make sure to get tier 1 seating.

This was our first time at DAR to see Byran Adams in concert. It was a Wednesday night show, so we were a bit nervous about parking. However,(for a 8pm show) we got to the area about 7 and there was plenty of street parking available. They are metered but there is no time limit on them so 4 hours is plenty. There is also a parking garage(Lot 91 — 1800 G St.) about 3 blocks which stays open late when DAR has events(parking was only $ 23). As for the Hall itself, it was a great venue. There really is not a bad seat in the house and the sound was just fine. Seriously, unless you have perfect hearing, you will not notice if the acoustics are just a bit off. We thought they were GREAT! Glad we sat off the floor in the tier since the floor stood the whole concert, which I cannot do anymore. The beer lines were long, but not too bad. All in all, a great, small venue(only 3700 seats) and the stage seems to be right on top of you. Would go back any day.

I guess the only reason why this place is used as a concert venue is that there is no medium size concert hall in DC. This place’s acoustic is simply horrible. This place also feels too formal as one of a performer recently said that he feels like he’s about announce his running for presidency. Lincoln Theater is bad but this one is the worst.

Nice venue. Beautiful from the outside, inside isn’t quite up to par. Acoustics and sightlines were good not great. Credit to the bartenders for taking an excellent photo of my GF and I.

It’s a nice indoor music venue. I came here to see J. Cole when he came out with his Born Sinner Album, it was great. The seats that sit all the way in the back are okay, you’re probably more likely to see better with up close seats, but whatever I saw J. Cole that’s all that matters.

I went to DAR Constitution Hall for an event during the day featuring a speech by a member of the President’s cabinet. The nearest metro stations are Federal Triangle and Farragut West. The bus station is closer, at NW C St &NW17th St. The entrance is nice with plenty of doors to enter. The seats are comfortable. There is little space between the seats so be prepared to be close to your neighbors(especially choosing who gets access to the arm rests). From the orchestra seating in the back, it is difficult to see the stage. I recommend any seats other than the back orchestra seats. The stage is nice with the names of the 13 colonies above and patriotic symbols. The acoustics are ok for a speech. The mic had a lot of static during the keynote speech. However, if there is an event with singing I think the sound quality will be poor. The seating and sound quality needs to be improved and it is difficult to get to when taking the metro.

Here to listen to the great Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan LIVE. Amazing place. Seats are a but on tighter side but still. Worthwhile. The Hall itself is amazing luckily I got a close your parking and the parking meter runs till 10 pm just in case. Restrooms were good too. Overall a God experience at the historical Hall.

Over the years, I’ve seen a range of different performances at this venue — from Handel’s Messiah to Neutral Milk Hotel — and I think it’s pretty awesome that there’s one place in DC that hosts such a range of shows! The hall seats over 3,700 people in a U-shape, with an orchestra section, box seats, and a large upper tier. I’ve been to performances in each of the three sections, and all had good views of the stage and good audio. I think they warn people sitting in the sections closest to the stage on the sides that their view may be obstructed, but I’ve never experienced those seats to find out if they are good or not(it also probably depends on the performance). You can enter the building through three of its four sides, but the box office and will call are in a tiny vestibule that’s only accessible from one specific door(which is labeled with a sign hanging outside). So it can be an odyssey to find the right place to get your tickets… and sometimes you have to pick up your tickets and then go back outside to another entrance where they scan them. I found the sound to be a bit loud during Neutral Milk Hotel, even though we were at the back of the orchestra section in a box. I don’t remember the volume being too much for any of the other shows. I’m actually really happy we had a box for NMH, because everyone stood up in the orchestra section for the entire set. They’re assigned seats — sit in them! Since we were up a little higher in our box, we could see over them and remain comfortable(and for NMH, all the seats were the same price, so this privilege didn’t cost any extra). I recall from past visits that the bathrooms were decent but definitely had long lines before/after the show and at intermission. So time your trips accordingly. But overall, it’s a nice venue with a variety of shows and I’ll happily return!

I enjoy this place. I have attended lots of events here. I have sat up close, in the upper seats and in the orchestra area. The sound is great. Parking can be tricky. I would suggest taking metro and walking. You can see the White House and the Elipse after a performance. The area is pretty in the evening.

I visited Constitution Hall for Russell Peters: Almost Famous World Tour Saturday show. The establishment was really crowded however the ushers were quick to get people to their seats. I sat in the upper sections and the seats were not too tight. They have two large televisions on either side of the stage for people in the upper sections to see(however I could see the stage with no problem). Not much of the interior has changed, I was here for high school graduation 7 years ago. I do not know how parking will be, street parking was crowded and the garages have hours that correspond with standard 9 – 5 jobs. I would recommend the Metro if you plan on seeing a show at the Constitution Hall. Overall, I would return for an event at this establishment.

Attended Russell Peters Friday night stand show in October 2014. The venue had plenty of seats with many entrances /exits. The staff was friendly and helpful directing us to our seats. Multiple cash bars were located throughout the DAR with average prices. We sat in row E towards the middle of the stage. As a result we had a lively experience as Russell Peters made fun of folks right next to us! Fortunately we were not picked on and enjoyed the light hearted jokes on others. Based on this experience I would be willing to attend another show at the Dar.

Aye yi yi!!! This venue is just ok IMO. I went for a concert a few weeks back. The sound system was .BLE!!! I cannot even get into the promoters or concert performers because they aren’t a reflection of the venue. Nevertheless… not sure if it’s like this for every show… but there are about 5 or more different entrances into this venue. I walked up to one door and was told I need to enter through another set of doors on whatever name street she said. That was a block away… I get to that door and the line is hanging out the door… very tight!!! The inside of the view is cool. It definitely looks like a hall. The balcony seating is very steep. The box seats are very tight as well. I believe a box sits 4 people. But comfortably it should seat only 2. Some of the ushers… seemed like most of them were new. They walked people to the wrong seats… smh I was just disgusted overall. Needless to say, I wouldn’t dare run to any show of any form featured at this venue any time soon. The parking was ok. I thought it would be difficult. But street parking on a Saturday after 6pm… wasn’t a headache at all. Where I parked was about 2 blocks away from the venue. And the parking was free :) The restrooms… only a hand full. Not a good first experience. Go at your own risk.

So, where do I begin. I went to my first show at DAR to see The Kids in the Hall, Rusty and Ready tour. First and foremost, MAKESUREYOULOCATEPARKINGBEFOREYOUGETTHERE. The«Event» parking next to DAR is a joke as the attendant stated they closed at 8… right when the show started. So we drove around for a while looking for an open garage. Which I guess is impossible to find at 530 pm on a saturday. So, we finally found our parking, paid and walked to the venue. None of the attendants in Will Call or Ushers could tell us which door they would open to let us in. So we just kind of stood around for a while. Doors opened about 5 – 10 minutes after the time they said they would. No big deal though, that happens somewhat often. So, we grab our wine and our t-shirts and head to our seats… At this point, I gave the usher my ticket, he stated that I was«Supposed to be upstairs but he’ll let me sit down on the ground level.» When I told him, no. I picked these seats out myself, I’m in the orchestra pit(ALSOCLEARLYSTATEDONMYTICKET) he told me that I should consider myself«lucky that he’s giving me a break.» Pssshhtttt. So I went to another usher, showed them my ticket and they told me the SAMETHING. When I showed the second person, whom is employed by DAR to show people to their seats that my ticket infact said«ORCHESTRA» on it in big letters, they finally directed me to the seat I had actually paid for. Not sure why they thought I wouldn’t notice that they kept sitting me in the wrong spot, but whatever. On to the show, the Kids were fantastic, although DAR kept having sound issues. Two of the performer’s microphones kept going out but they seem to have gotten that fixed. The show it’s self was phenomenal. I only wish it had lasted longer. Lastly, after the show, we were waiting outside the back stage curtain to possibly meet the performers. The«Bouncer» if you could call him that let a group of around 10 people backstage to meet the performers, but would not let us know if they were coming out to meet the rest of us. After about 5 minutes we were asked to go outside, which we did. We stood around outside for another 20 minutes before we realized no one was coming and that we should just leave. We walked back to the garage and left. All in all, it wasn’t a terrible experience, but it will take a lot to get me to come back to this venue.

I have been to DAR a few times for concerts and a few times for Shecky’s girl’s night out events. I would have to agree with many of my fellow Unilocalers that it is not a place you want to skimp on the good seats if you want to see what is going on. However if you have good seats the show is incredibly intimate. One of the bands we saw took a selfie from the stage and when it posted, there we were 10 rows back: photobomb mission complete! Events that are thrown here(ex: Shecky’s) do get rather hot, as they are in thrown in the hallway vs being in the concert hall. But they have a coat check by the bathrooms downstairs, so if you are prepared for this, you should be fine. It’s a gorgeous building and there is ample street parking only a few blocks away if you decide not to Metro and walk. There are also ATMs on premises if you want a drink or snack before hand.

We saw Amy Schumer here last night and the show was pretty great… she is hilarious and certainly knows life as a single thirty-something. The venue is gorgeous and the layout was perfect for such a large group of people. It never felt claustrophobic in the lounge areas or in the anterooms. The acoustics are stunning. The décor is beautiful and fitting. The temperature left something to be desired. It was overly warm where we were seated and a distraction from the show. Most of us were waving our tickets in front of our faces hoping for a breeze. The staff was pretty terrific and very helpful. Everyone from the gentleman who took my ticket to the staff resting who rose to help me navigate multiple drinks and the door were a delight. I will return. This venue hosts a variety of acts and shows and I’ll be looking for another opportunity for a night out in DC at this truly beautiful and very classy host to all kinds of performing arts.

I have been to Constitution Hall several times. Like most, Ive been here for my high school graduation, several Immature concerts(yes, Immature) and a few comedy shows. I actually like Constitution Hall, its far from my favorite but its an ok venue. The ushers are always polite, the ticket collectors are always speedy and service at the bars is friendly. I would stay away from the food though. I’m not sure what they even offer but this doesn’t strike me as a safe place to eat. Parking is janky — like people park there permanently and you should simply expect to park a few blocks away. Lighting, temperature, sound and all are up to par. BUT the screens(on the sides of the stage) need serious updating. They are really bad quality. I recently went for a comedy show and felt really bad for those that had to depend on the screens. My advice is to get close seats, pay the extra cost and you’ll be just fine.

What a wonderful intimate venue to see my beloved Script concert! I went here last night and have never been here before. I ended up having a wonderful seat 3 rows back from the stage. Even with it being the 3rd row, I was extremely close. I thoroughly enjoyed the concert. The venue itself is very spacious and by the looks of it can hold a generous amount of people. The interior is beautiful and well kept. I think my only complaint is the men’s’ restroom is closer than the women’s’ bathroom and this caused me havoc when I had to stand in line for longer than I wanted. I didn’t get anything to drink or anything so I can’t say anything about the pricing of beverages. I can say the box office/will call is on the other side of the building than from the main entrance where you would present your ticket to enter the venue. Just be aware of that. I look forward to coming back.
