Typical personal trainer: repetitive, boring, flaky, lots of yelling and giving up inside of 4 weeks because you are not seeing or feeling results.
Derrick is none of these things. Each workout is unique. You FEEL the workouts — and the results of the workouts — and you enjoy them. You’ll also get taught what you should and should not eat, and yes there is room for a beer or glass of wine every so often.
Also — my schedule is all over the place and Derrick is more than willing to accommodate inconsistent weekly timings.
It’s an education and one you’ll want to stick with. Do it!

Derrick is hands down the best personal trainer I’ve ever worked with. Not only are each of his sessions unique, but all of his exercises are fun and highly effective. He changed my nutrition mindset and entire body composition in a matter of months and has helped me achieve lasting results, which were definitely noticeable! I start my training with Derrick 1 month after my ACL knee surgery in October. It wasn’t easy to find someone who is so knowledgeable and is willing to train month after the surgery. We have first met for excessive consultation and revaluation, during which we have talked about diet, program and expectations.
I started with 27% of fat and after working out for 2 months 2 times per week, I’m down to 21%. Big improvement. Although I’m still not «there» yet with my ideal weight, I’m very content about the improvement. In my case, freshly after surgery we couldn’t implement program 100% but what have we have achieved so far is far beyond what I expected in such s shot period of time. What I love about Derrick is the lack of boredom. Every session is different and focused on different part of body.
His sense of humor is an added feature! I’m addicted to his program and although it is not the cheapest is SO WORTH IT!

I started training with Derrick on August 13, 2015 – 2 times per week.
In 19 sessions, I’ve lost almost 20 pounds of fat and picked up flexibility and quickness.

Derrick is by far one of the best trainers I’ve ever worked with. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and dedication to his work really sets him apart from every other trainer. Whether you are his first client of the day or last client of the day, Derrick delivers and pushes you so that you can get the most out of each session. His work outs are killer —-so be prepared. And be prepared to follow his strict dietary guidelines which really helps round out the training experience. I couldn’t be happier with the results I’m seeing after working with him.

Derrick is honestly the best trainer I’ve ever worked with. He comes up with new exercises each time that makes every workout fun and challenging. He will learn your strengths and weaknesses and structure each workout to fit your goals. His passion for fitness is contagious. If you don’t want to work hard and get results than Derrick is not the trainer for you.

I’ve been training with Derrick for about a month now and the results have already been awesome. Derrick starts with a personalized nutritional program that is designed for you and your goals, and will also check in during the week to see how you are doing. Derrick is really knowledgeable on nutrition as well as the exercises and following his nutritional program is super easy. The workouts are different each session so you are never doing the same things you were doing previously — my least favorite ones («the difficult ones») always seem to change with each session. He’s also just really supportive and fun to train with, and is a great motivator.
If you follow his plan (do the homework and extra credit!) and make your sessions, you will see results — I was lucky and found Derrick as my first trainer, you certainly don’t need to shop around and look elsewhere.

Derrick is my best friend and savior. First of all, I am probably the worst person to train on planet earth because I am out of shape, lazy, and a huge whiner. I would never train myself. But Derrick not only just kind of laughed at me and was super patient, he also helped me get in a better mindset, making me feel super motivated despite absolutely kicking my butt during our workouts.
Genuinely concerned for my body now that I’m leaving DC and leaving Derrick. Also I lost like 24 mm of fat in a month which is somewhat insane. Would recommend Derrick to anyone (I’m a 20 year old girl, I’ve seen him with 60+ year old men) who wants to get in shape — from losing large amounts of weight to just wanting to tone up, have a dependable routine, and get definition, who wants to have a reliable check-​in for your diet and exercise, and to start craving working out. I think I worked out once in the 12 months before I met Derrick and now I work out 3 times a week and do cardio on top of that!
Also: I know this is a very gushing review — because I think Derrick is so awesome — but he’s also a serious professional. The workouts are targeted for your desires, different every time, and he is always punctual and knowledgeable about any questions you might have. A great businessman as well as trainer and personality.

I usually don’t leave reviews but this one is totally a must. I have been training with Derrick since 2011 and I would like to say that I have had other trainers before but nothing is comparable to Derrick’s work out (I mean it).
Derrick is a very motivated and fun person to train with. He is always pushing you to do your best, he is very resourceful and he always provides you with the best information that is out there regarding fitness and nutrition.
I would really like to mention that I have never feel or seen this good shape of my body as when I’m training with Derrick. It is incredible how he plans these amazing workouts which will help you achieve whatever your goal may be. He know exactly how to turn your body into the best way possible, making you feel better, healthy and motivated constantly.

Derrick is the best trainer ever. I’ve been training with him since 2011 and there’s literally no one like him. His exercises are simply out of this world: Most of involve every single muscle in your body and you see the results week after week. He combines these carefully crafted moves with intense cardio that makes you sweat and release endorphines like crazy.

I love working out with Derrick!!! The exercises are nothing like you ever seen at the gym; there is almost every day a new set of exercises and it is fun to do it. He is VERY knowledgeable guy! He knows about nutrition, physiology of exercise, and he uses all these on the preparation of the unique program he develops for his client. He gives a nutrition plan and teaches you how to follow it. On top of all this, he has a awesome sense of humor, also he is polite, professional and on time. I have been following his direction and I am very happy with my results.

I’ve used Derrick of and on for nearly 10 years and followed him to 3 gyms. I’ve tried the Crossfit and other trainers, but have always come back to Derrick. He holds me accountable of my daily diet (which he walked me through the first workout each time) and makes every workout challenging and different. If visible results are your goal, he is your trainer.

Derrick Inglut personal training is the real deal. I have worked with him for over six years. I have never been impressed with any other trainers results like. If you follow his plan and dig deep you will come out on top. No one challenges me like you do.

Derrick is an amazing personal trainer and even more amazing motivator. He is adept at setting increasingly challenging goals, while keeping each segment of the transformation very achievable. He is also a great cheerleader who will celebrate your highs, and not let you beat yourself up about your lows.
I have had very positive results with Derrick, having shed almost 10% of my body fat in a little under 3 months, while putting on a good bit of muscle. The best part of this is that with Derrick’s system (he is categorical that it is NOT a diet), the nutritional aspect was approachable and easy to keep to — despite spending almost a quarter of that period on the road.

I worked out with Derrick for about a year in 2004 when I lived in DC. I had never worked with a trainer before and was very weak from being sick with Crohns Disease. Derrick not only instilled confidence and motivation in me, he went out of his way to research what extra tidbits he could to help me in my endeavors (nutrition, exercise modification.) I can proudly say that he got me from 108 lbs to 118 lbs, which was the most I had ever weighed at the time. Since leaving DC, I have worked with a few trainers, but few have even come close to Derrick. Now I’m around 145lbs and still work out with a trainer… If i ever moved back to DC, I would absolutely return to Derrick. I highly recommend him as a trainer.

Derrick trained me over a period of two months in 2004 and again in 2006. What I learned and practiced with Derrick, both physically and about nutrition, I still practice to this day. The number one thing that stands out about his training is completely undivided attention. Some trainers are looking all around, chit chatting and saying hi to other people; Derrick gives his client full focus while training. At that time, I was given two trial sessions. At the end of the second session, huffing and puffing nearing the point of blissful collapse, I said «Where Do I Sign!?». In those months, my body underwent a significant transformation developing well balanced, healthy muscle. I have since moved out of the area, but will always recognize my training woth Derrick as a turning point in my personal fitness. I consider Derrick a lifelong friend and would train with him again anytime I am back in D.C.

If you’re looking for a trainer who will get you where you want to be, Derrick is the one for you. I know him for several years, some of his clients has traveled hours to get his training sessions. He is not just a motivator, he has skills to train for all client’s conditions & level, their needs, and what they needs to be done. The cost of getting personal training sessions are not cheap as all of us know, but his sessions are worth to pay for, and great investment for our body and health. Trust me, you won’t regret.
