I accompanied by husband on his appt with Dr. Matthews and boy was i impressed. Dr. Matthews spent at least 30 minutes just asking questions about who we are, what we like to do and our general interests. We really felt like he was genuinely interested in getting to know our family. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a Dr. ‘s appt like this.

I still believe Dr. Matthews is a compassionate, caring doctor. However because of changes to the health care system (aka Obamacare), Dr. Matthews has sent a letter to all his BCBS patients saying he is no longer accepting that insurance. This is unfortunate, as he was the best doctor I’ve seen in a long time. Why did health insurance companies’ stock rise when healthcare reform was passed? Maybe because they knew it was good for them and bad for us. I’ll miss you, Dr. Matthews.

I haven’t seen Dr. Matthews in a few years, but he was AWESOME. The way I see it, treating the illness is paramount, but in doing so, informing the patients of the treatments available and the condition is more important.
Dr. Matthews is the BEST!
