The service was a bit slow. I waiter was pleasant however it took about 10 min for a waiter to come to us and we had to flag one down after being seated and another 10 min before our iced tea arrived, almost the same time as our food. I think they need to work on that but that being said, our waiter was very sweet and nice and got us everything we wanted including apologizing. ambiance: Very cute location right near a park in navy yard. Not stuffy, gorgeous outdoor seating overlooking the park. Cute bar on the inside and looks like they have a small room you can host a party for 20 at. Drinks: only had iced tea, which was good when we finally received it. Food: Chicken wings were good. Needs a little more of a kick. otherwise, it was done very well. Ranch dipping sauce was also good. Buratta beet salad: Delicious. Really good combo. I love beets and this was done very well. Maybe a little more burrata on the salad though is needed. Pulled pork: vinegar based. Well done. I’m just not into vinegar based pork i realized. I could still taste the vinegar too much. Barbecued corn with cotija cheese. Very good. nice twist on regular grilled corn.

After several other food trucks trying to pull off BBQ out of a van, I had pretty much given up on finding something I’d like off of 4 wheels. However, the Woodshed changed my mind. I had the pulled pork sandwich, and it tasted like it was right out of the smoker and onto my plate. Having gone to Truckeroo a few times this truck doesn’t have a line, and it should. The next time you see this truck, give it a shot. You will save your time wasted on other bland food trucks, and hit the BBQ express here. The guys running it was in a great mood and it’s because the food was so good!

The best truck-based barbecue that I have found in DC! Beats out Rocklands and all the rest overall. Some places have more variety and more varied sides, but Woodshed feels like home as they really put a focus on the quality of their pulled pork, smoked brisket and homestyle sides. I’ve only seen them when at Truckeroo(DC’s monthly food truck festival) but if they come to your ‘hood, check them out!
