If I could give no stars I would. My lawnmower had an issue with the carburetor. I took it to Earl’s at my friend’s recommendation. Well after two weeks I called to check the status and could not reach anyone so I left a message. My call was never returned. Finally I was able to stop by the shop on my day off and Earl has closed shop. After leaving many messages he finally calls to say the mower has been repaired and he will drop it off on Friday. Well he brought it to my friend’s place and my friend did not ask him to start it. Long story short the mower still will not start and frankly it is not worth the headache of tracking Earl down. Take your item elsewhere for repair. This guy may have been great in the past but from my experience this is no longer the case.

Always always call before going there — they have very limited hours (Tues-​Fri only) and are prone to unscheduled closures. That said, I agree with all of the other reviews. Lawnmowers are their bread and butter and they do a terrific job with those. But we brought them an antique fan once to replace a frayed power cord and they had it for nearly two months. When we finally got it back, the motor made a loud buzzing sound that wasn’t there before, so much so that we don’t use the fan. So it depends what you need fixed — anything tricky or exotic might be a roll of the dice.

I had them fix my mower. I think it took a day or 2, and it worked like a charm afterwards. I think it cost about $ 80. Great service.

Earls is a gem in Brookland. They have been here for at least 30 years, are as honest as the day is long, may take a bit longer to get work done, but they will do it right and not cheat you. If you are in a hurry, perhaps go some place else, but everyone I know in Brookland uses Earls. I have been going there for 30 years.

The only good thing I can say is that after keeping my lamp for 2 months for a job they said would be done in 2 weeks at most, they refunded me the money that they charged me for the work that they never did. Take your appliance elsewhere.
