We ordered for dinner from Eddie’s the other day, and boy was that a mistake. The food here was extremely bland. We ordered Kung Pao Tofu, and Tofu with Mixed Vegetables with Egg Drop Soup. Everything tasted the same — like boiled nothing. The delivery driver arrived at the apartment building, and called us from downstairs. He refused to come in and actually deliver to the door, which is what I’m pretty sure we PAIDFOR. He was also extremely rude and was yelling on the phone. When I got to the lobby, he started to leave. I had to stop him and be like WTH! Gave him exact change. No tip. Never order from here.

Good food and service. It’s our go-to Chinese place in NWDC.

One of my go-to delivery places. Sometimes it is greasy but I wouldn’t expect anything else from a cheap(ish) takeout Chinese place. I haven’t had any delivery problems yet, in fact it’s usually faster than other places. I did have a mistake once where they gave me dumplings I didn’t order. I guess someone else didn’t get their dumplings, but I wasn’t complaining.

Ordered off grub hub. Lo mein was decent. Bbq spare ribs were really over cooked and dry barely and sauce. They also didn’t give me any silver wear. Super annoying.

This restaurant is located in the cut. They have 3 outside tables if you would like to eat there. I order the beef and broccoli and it tasted horrible honestly. I am asian and the last thing I would do is throw away food and I had to. I refuse to allow my dog to eat what I ate. I will not go there again. Bad enough they charge you an arm and a leg because its located in DC. Terrible!

I cannot recommend this restaurant at all!!! Everything about my order was wrong! I ordered crispy beef with orange sauce. There was nothing crispy about this beef and the size of each of the«tender beef slices» was about the palm of my hand. So, not crispy(soggy is more like it), not tender(VERYVERYCHEWY.) and not spicy(VERY bland taste!). Now for the pad thai: nothing remotely Thai about this! No peanuts, no sauce, nothing. Just a bunch of boiled noodles with chicken and lime. Tasteless. I also asked for chopsticks and hot sauce(chili sauce). Did not get that. The delivery man was surly and rude. One good thing I can say about this restaurant is that the servings are generous. But it doesn’t make any difference because if the food is not good, I am not eating it! $ 30 down the drain… I am not a competing business… I am just a very very unhappy(not even disappointed! I’m beyond that) and upset former customer. It was my first time to order from them and it will be my last. I am in D.C. working on a project and because I don’t know anyone here and don’t have a car, I have either been walking to the nearby restaurants or ordering food to be delivered. I have ordered from two other Chinese restaurants in the last week, and one was good, one was okay, but Eddie’s Café was absolutely horrible. I selected this restaurant because of the good rating(4 stars) on Seamless. It must have been the owner’s mother and grandmother who posted those ratings, because Eddie’s Café is not worthy of even 1 star. Crispy beef is my favorite Chinese food and I ordered it from each of the three restaurants this week, so I do have basis to compare the dishes. I don’t think I have ever given 1 star to a business because I am usually very generous with my stars. So believe me when I say that the food here, based on the two dishes I ordered, sucks!!! And the customer service is horrible! The one star is for the very generous servings. Do yourself a favor and don’t eat here.

The Chinese food was a bit sweet, but the spiciness level was perfect, and the delivery timing was great.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I ordered the chicken pad thai from them last Sunday and came down with severe food poisoning that only resolved itself 5 days later(basically today). It was the worst case of food poisoning I’ve ever gotten/I was basically debating going on antibiotics. Oh yeah but my food tasted fine… so it was all worth it. I’m being sarcastic. Stay away or proceed at your own risk.

Delivery was prompt, but food was not well seasoned, seemed to be missing something. Portions were large, I guess I expected better quality in the big city.

After a long flight and day of traveling we ordered some take out. I had the Shrimp pad Thai and my husband had the General Taos chicken. Mine was okay defiantly not the best I’ve ever had but it hit the spot. My husbands was okay as well but again not the best and it hit the spot. We enjoyed the meal but I doubt we will eat here again while we are in town. It was close to the hotel and convenient so if you want something quick and close to the Omni Shoreham eat here!

Eddie’s Café has become our standard for Chinese take out. While not the greatest Chinese food I have ever had, it totally solves the«Its 8:00pm and I dont want to cook dinner» problem that we get every couple weeks or so. The portions are good and the food is alright. Takes about 40 – 50 mins to deliver even though I am a 10 minute walk from the restaurant but whatever… If im too lazy to walk there then who am I to complain about delivery times.

I was staying at a hotel down the street and didn’t feel like going out, so I decided to order Chinese delivery. This was easy to order online and arrived within 20 minutes of ordering. My husband and I tried a few of the tofu dishes, which were all great! Excellent texture to the tofu and yummy sauce to pour over the rice. I would definitely order from here again if I was staying in town.

We were in search of simple, quick, yummy Chinese food. The kind you really want after a night of drinking. It was perfect. We sat outside and tried to make a dent in the MASSIVE portions we ordered, but to no avail. Definitely worth every penny.

At first sight, with it’s location, clientele, and menu, I thought this place wasn’t going to be very good/authentic. It turns out that the food is actually pretty good. Don’t expect the menu to have any authentic China items, but more of the run-of-the-mill American/causation type Chinese food. But, still good quality food nonetheless.

My last order from Eddie’s was literally inedible. I order take out every now and then and try to steer clear of their saucy dishes. They all pretty much taste the same and tend to be huge chunks of tough meat drowned in brown sauce and served with limp, overcooked, flavorless broccoli. For some reason I thought the crispy beef with orange sauce wouldn’t have those qualities based upon the description on the menu. Wrong, wrong, wrong! It was disgusting. I doubt I will order from them again afar this last experience. There is another Chinese spot around the corner that I will use instead.

This is my go-to chinese delivery place. They’re almost always pretty darn punctual and they’re the only ones who make the general tso’s remotely spicy. Also, i think i eat an abnormally large amount of rice with my chinese food, and i find when i order from other places, i have to order extra rice. Eddie’s always gives me just enough. i bet i order from here every other week or so.

I’m upset with myself for never trying this place before even after living nearby for a year. The food was your typical Chinese fast food but the area seems to be lacking in decent Chinese delivery which is why I give it a bit higher marks than I normally would. I ordered the Beef with Broccoli and that was good but nothing special. I also had the steamed dumping appetizer. It wasn’t what I was expecting but it wasn’t bad. I’ll probably try something else on the list next time. The wonton soup is really good though. Might be a little bit on the saltier side but I didn’t mind at all. The delivery was pretty fast(about 30 min) and I got everything that I ordered with no issues. Overall, I’d order from them again.

A standard Greasy Wok Chinese takeout place; the food was fine but nothing special. I had Kung Pao Chicken, which was sweeter and less spicy than I expected but basically fine. Prices were reasonable and the food was ready quickly. A note about how I rate: It seems to me that people mean very different things by the stars they give in a review. Here’s what I mean: 5 stars means that a place is exceptional in some way, special even among very good peers; 4 stars means that the place is very good in every relevant category but not outstanding or exceptional; 3 stars means adequate – a place I would go to again but not great; 2 stars means unacceptable – a place I would not go again because it is seriously deficient in some way; 1 star is horrible, that the place was not only unacceptable in some way but that it was exceptionally, unforgivably bad. In every case my rating is comparing the place reviewed to similar places– thus an outstanding diner gets a 5 even though on an absolute scale its food might not be as good as that at a gourmet restaurant.
