Crabs are cooked well, but crazy overpriced. I suppose I would come if feeling a true craving. For anyone with a car, do yourself a favor and buy a gross(144) down a the waterfront for $ 125 rather than a dozen(12) here for $ 100.

Sorry, Feelin’ Crabby… I am feelin’ a little let down! After debating food trucks this Saturday at the Kingman Island Folk Festival(super fun!), I landed on Feelin’ Crabby, the line was short and the food sounded tasty. I went with the crab and shrimp combo sandwich with a side of potato salad. The potato salad looked good, red potatoes in a light dressing with a lot of dill and the sandwich appeared to be filled with goodness! The potato salad was very bland. Sometimes simplicity works, but not the case here. I didn’t finish it. The sandwich was OK, just OK, definitely missing something here for me and lacking a lot of flavor. I wouldn’t recommend this truck. A little pricey and you can definitely get more bang for your buck elsewhere.

3.5STARS*** I had the opportunity to try Feelin’ Crabby at the DMVFTA Saturday Night Shindig this past weekend. Although the wait was long I have to say that it was worth it! Their Jumbo Lump Crab Sandwich($ 12) was tasty! Dusted in what appeared to be old bay seasoning, the portion of crab meat was generous and had a slight crisp to it, which I really enjoyed. The sandwich included greens, tomatoes, and had a fresh taste overall. I also got an opportunity to try their shrimp and crab salad, which was decent but not something I would order. I noticed the owner of the food truck was really friendly and patient. He seemed to be working alone and considering the hordes of people waiting in line, it was nice to see him maintain his composure. I agree with other Unilocalers that prices are slightly high, but I understand that it is a food truck that serves seafood. My suggestion would be to incorporate a small side to make up for the prices. I would definitely try Feelin’ Crabby again if given the chance!

A small group of us attended the DMV Food Truck Association’s Saturday Night Shindig after purchasing a voucher via Groupon that promised tastings from your choice of three food trucks. Upon entering the Hecht Warehouse area where the trucks were gathered, we each received meal tickets which we were supposed to be able to use for the tastings. After waiting approximately two hours in the Feelin’ Crabby food truck line, our party learned that there were no tastings being offered. Instead, we had to pay for a meal, each option cost around $ 10 plus. The window worker said that our meal tickets were only valued at $ 3, so we had to shell out about $ 7.50 for three plates of food. Chips were sold separately. Wait, what? How is this even legal? Bait and Switch? A classic case of false advertisement? I’m not sure which but I do know that at that point, we were all too hungry to argue so we took our plates and sat down inside of the warehouse to eat. I have to hand it to Feelin’ Crabby. There was a substantial amount of crab meat on the crab cake sandwich itself however the meat was so cold it was practically frozen and completely inedible. I couldn’t see any Old Bay seasoning on top of the meat when I pulled it apart and neither could my husband. My sister-in-law’s shrimp sandwich was also chilled to an inedible temperature. The shrimp were small, think shrimp lomein small, and fell out all over the place. With all the hype about this food truck, I really wanted to love Feelin’ Crabby but for the cost and time wasted waiting for inedible food, I am beyond frustrated… I would not recommend them. I will say that this may just be a case of misunderstanding between Feelin’ Crabby, Groupon and the DMV Food Truck Association HOWEVER, there’s no excuse for bad food.

It was a crisp, Fall day when I finally decided to give this truck a try in. I had my heart set on a crab salad, but I knew that I was pushing my luck after 1:00 pm on a Friday in the NOMA area. That said, I didn’t flinch when I heard, «All I have left is lobster.» $ 16.50 may seem a bit steep for a lobster sandwich, but if the lobster is fresh(check), in large chunks(check) and on a fresh, soft bun(check); it seems worth every penny. A nicely presented and fully packed sandwich; there was lobster on every bite, with the exception of that tiny piece of bun that fell off(which I ate as well), and it was yummy. As I ate, I thought, «Why did I wait so long?» Yeah guys; it was that good.

Feelin’ Crabby, I love you! Their crab salad is outstanding! The crab pieces are huge and wonderful with a seasoning that compliments but doesn’t take away from the deliciousness of the seafood. I tend to be a fan of crab more than lobster but the crabster salad is awesome! Personally, having tried both a sandwich and a salad, I’d recommend the salad simply because it allow the crab to be the star. I also find the salad easier to eat(fork rather than hands = less germs depending on where they’re parked that day). That being said, their rolls are good too. I need to try their soup but since I tend to be in DC in the summer, I haven’t experience it yet. The guys are also very friendly and quick. Prices seem high until you taste it. This isn’t somewhere you would go everyday but I’ll happily hand over whatever they want for food given the flavor and quality. One of the best food trucks in DC(Basil Thyme being the other). Go there, savor the amazing crab, and follow them on Twitter; after one taste, you’ll become a stalker.

A little pricey $ 11 for two mini sliders, but the flavors were good. Good amount of seasoning, not drowned in. I had one lobster and one crab. Both were delicious. I can see why it won top food truck in DC. The line for it was super long. However, these are small sliders and for $ 11 I was still hungry.

See this is the type of experience that makes me HATE that I work in a location where trucks never seem to come. Got my first try of Feelin’ Crabby at Truckeroo and OhEmGee, yes yes yes! Got the crab sliders. Wanted to try the crabster sliders(a mix of crab and lobster) but I seem to have a love hate relationship with lobster so figured I’d be a crab purist. Absolutely delicious. Those little sliders are fresh crab salad on a tiny bun that just all melts in your mouth. Yummy. And the perfect amount of Old Bay seasoning to give it a little kick. 3 sliders for $ 13 and that’s just the right amount of food to coat my belly for the drinks. I would have doubled back but was trying to be classy. Lol. Gotta now stalk this truck and find it a couple more times this summer because I am a fan!

I’m totally being ageist and sexist right now, but a crab slider THIS delicious, has to be a grandmother’s recipe. Every bite was heaven! I was full off of two sliders and momentarily cursed my stomach for making me wait hours before I could finish the 3rd. Next time, I’ll try the lobster sliders and crab cake.

Almost three and a half stars. I liked the lobster sandwich quite a bit more than the crab sandwich, and not because there was a stray piece of chamber shell in the latter. The bits of claw meat in the former made the shredding of the crab meat more obvious in comparison. Just enough Old Bay for someone who’s very neutral about the seasoning, fresh baby spinach and tomato slice, some citrus to brighten your palate, and not too much mayo. I would’ve liked a less boring bun in the absence of a roll format, and let’s be serious… Utz chips are the Tinder of filler junk food– gets the job done more or less, but you’ll probably feel gross and/or disappointed afterwards. Lemonade was a winner since it wasn’t too sweet or overly tart. Portioning is more moderate on food than beverage, considering the cost. Service was friendly and polite, and the one-man show happily plastic-wrapped our meals on a windy day.

I like it. I get the crab-sandwich sliders – 3 for $ 17. No chips or drink included. To me it’s very expensive to break a $ 20 and get some change back standing on the side-walk in downtown DC for your lunch BUT hey it hasn’t stopped me from finding my behind standing in line to place my order for 3 sliders – has it? Nope – shole hasn’t. Fresh, lots of crab – the real stuff – no imitation. Expensive Kind staff Fast and efficient

Pretty yummy! I had the crab sliders at Trucktoberfest in Wheaton. The crab was lightly dressed and had the perfect amount of mayo — not too much! They also had the perfect sprinkle of Old Bay — again, not too much. The only thing I could have skipped was the bun, as it didn’t add anything to the crab. I also wish these were a little cheaper. Pricey at 3 for $ 13!

4 stars for food, 2 stars for price. I’ve had the jumbo crab cake sandwich on several different occasions and have never been disappointed. It’s a simple combination of lettuce, tomato, and lightly seasoned crab cake, yet still flavorful and packed with lumps of juicy crab meat. On the other hand, I don’t really understand why food trucks like Feelin’ Crabby charge such high prices. Shouldn’t they be able to price their food more competitively since they don’t have to maintain a physical store? The food is fresh and absolutely delicious, but at these prices, I could probably sit comfortably in a decent restaurant and order a crab cake sandwich for about the same price(about $ 11 – 18 for a single sandwich). The restaurant would likely throw in water and include a side as well. If I run outside for a quick lunch break and wait in line for a box of food to bring back to the office, I’m not exactly looking to pay the same prices as I would in a sit-down restaurant. In sum, if you’re into food trucks and aren’t concerned about prices, then this is a delicious option worth trying out. They have two trucks and do a good job of broadcasting their locations via Twitter.

Located at Farragut Square on Friday. I was looking for another lobster roll truck but since they weren’t there I went to this truck instead. Wait was kind of long but the lobster roll was tasty. Good portion of watermelon for $ 1. It was good, meaty lobster.

Feelin’ Crabby came to my work area for the first time, so I had to try them out. I decided to try the triple sliders of each flavor; crab, lobster, and the crabster(crab & lobster mixed). I had high expectations since these babies costed me $ 17 bucks! Presentation wise it looked small for $ 17. They were 3 little sliders. I got back to my desk and dug in. All the sliders were a mix of meat, mayo, and old bay with some lettuce on a soft bun. I wish they were fried or broiled. I felt like I was having crab, lobster, and crabster salad on a bun. The bun wasn’t toasted either. I’ll admit it had a good flavor, but for the price I couldn’t enjoy it. The cost was too high for the amount of food. I would have been happy to pay $ 10 or even $ 12 for the 3 sliders, but not $ 17. It didn’t even come with a side or a drink for $ 17. The owner of the truck was nice, but I can’t justify getting it again. Sorry, I’m not feeling Feelin’ Crabby.

Feelin’ Crabby rolled thru my work ‘hood the other day and I decided to pick up a sandwich since I was craving some seafood. There’s something about a hot summer day that makes me want to pick crabs and drink beer. I had to do without the beer part since we’re not in Europe and siestas are frowned upon! The crab sandwich delivers a large portion of lump crab without the mess of picking crabs. So. much. crab. I would agree with some of the other reviewers who are saying they need to cut down their mayo… it was a bit much. Next time, I may try the sliders to see if the crab to mayo ratio is different on those. I’ve had their cream of crab soup before which was tasty & creamy but a little heavy on the salt. I’m pretty sure they don’t serve soups during the summertime… but sometimes I wish they would!
