I actually really liked this place, but I’ll be the first to say that it has been closed due to several health code violations. The place has been reopened recently as an American cocktail bar(turned night club sometimes) called The Manor. Good news is that you happen to be holding on to an expired groupon for Fiesta, groupon will reimburse the value with groupon bucks. Maybe the new business will take better care to follow the rules.

I stopped by Fiesta in hopes to find some food to feed the alcohol after hitting a happy hour at a local spot. Well my visit to Fiesta was short! When we walked in and up the narrow staircase a very unusual smell greeted me at the door(sign #1) once we got upstairs we seated ourselves at the first available table that was pretty sticky(sign #2) and given menus that felt like someone spilled drinks all over them(sign #3) after that and noticing that no one in the room was eating I knew it was time to go. Maybe i’ll give it another try another day but probably not!

Came for margaritas and apps during a Friday happy hour. Margarita wasn’t bad, but not good either. Tried the spinach empanadas and they were yummy. Also had fried jalapeños which were the perfect spice level for me. My complaint is not with the food but the portion size. I understand these are supposed to be tapas, but $ 6 for 2 jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese seemed a bit much to me. Maybe take down the price a dollar or two, or give more food. Service was pretty spotty, our waiter was super on top of our drinks, but then we waited an excessive amount of time for the bill after we asked 2 different people for the check. Overall, I’d go back if I was in the area. But I go out of my way to eat here again.

I was more than pleasantly surprised by my visit to Fiesta. I was strolling along Connecticut Ave. looking for a place to continue my happy hour buzz and walked pass Fiesta. From the looks of it I didn’t think I would enjoy it at all but thought won’t hurt to check it out. After getting my ID checked and climbing the flight of stairs I was met by the cheesy interior, if I weren’t so lazy and not wanting to walk back down the steps I might have left, definitely glad that I didn’t. First off their happy hour is a great deal, all their tapas are 2 for 1 and since the first price is super low, you’re basically stealing food. I tried to the chicken empanadas, nice flaky crust without being overly greasy, the chicken inside was well prepared and tasty and it had just enough kick to let you know you’re eating Mexican food. The beef sliders weren’t as good but still a decent quality, accompanying fries really added to the sliders to make them slightly more appealing. The real deal is the drinks though, huge pitchers of margaritas for cheap and the bartender was not stingy with the alcohol, as I watch her pour I though when is she going to stop but was glad that she didn’t. Margarita was great and provided me with quite the buzz. Service was great, the bartender/waitress was attentive and fun, she made some great recommendations and made sure to check on me regularly. I think I might have found a diamond in the rough on Connecticut Ave and hope to come back again.

My boyfriend and I came in after walking past and seeing the happy hour specials, which is 7 days a week. We were promptly seated and given a happy hour menu. I wanted a sangria, but they only had white wine sangrias, so I opted for a margarita instead. My boyfriend wanted a blue moon, but they did not have it. They were out of a few other beverage items on the menu, so my boyfriend just got a mixed drink. After we order, our food came out hot and quick. It was pretty good too. We got the tapas as part of the happy hour special and the portions were way bigger than regular tapas. We order four dishes: the spinach and cheese empanadas which were awesome, the nachos platter which was good because everything seemed fresh, the pan seared salmon which was savory and the best thing we ordered, and we also got the chicken croquettes which were just okay, they were very dry. On the negative side, the décor is pretty awful and it’s very dimly lit. I would come back for the happy hour specials if I’m in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

This place is depressing. The restaurant is very run down and feels a little less than sanitary. The décor is so cheesy(no pun intended ;)) and very outdated. The owner and staff are nice enough, but the place is so empty you can really sense the desperation. It’s in such a high traffic area, it’s shocking how deserted this place is at night. The quality of food really doesn’t help their cause. Really gross, over processed, and far from fresh. I’d rather get an empanada next door. Final thought: This place is a great candidate for Kitchen Nightmares.

I went a few weekends ago with a group of girlfriends and the groupon voucher. I hesitated before buying it because of all the terrible reviews on Unilocal, but was pleasantly surprised by my experience. Yes the décor was weird and old, yes the crowd was odd, yes the food was mediocre, but it was definitely worth the $ 70 groupon for 4. The margaritas tasted pretty decent and I swear there was some witchcraft shit going on because my glass was NEVER empty. Actually it may have been a mug… I think our margaritas came in a beer mug… but I’m pretty sure they hold more liquid than margarita glasses anyways so fine by me. But seriously, props to our waitress because, witchcraft or not, she killed it. The fajitas took a bit long to come, but it was probably a good thing since they tasted great by the time I was 3 margarita mugs in. I kind of felt like I was drunk eating, but since it seems to have made the experience better so I’ll take it.

This place is soooo nasty! I’ve only been here during pub crawls, but I can’t imagine people actually consuming what comes out of the kitchen. They try to section off the«restaurant» and«lounge» but dude, there’s no wall, the people there are going to hear the loud and obnoxious drunkies right on the other side of the wall! the pub service is always slow b/c there’s only 1 tiny bar, they also tried to give me rail vodka, when the special was definitely Finlanda. I think the only way they keep in business is overcharging for drinks and serving rail as top shelf! we warned what u purchase here!

We tried this place out on a whim, walking by and seeing their happy hour deals. We clearly should have checked out the Unilocal ratings on this, but we got snagged by the good prices on beer and margaritas, and buy-one-get-one tapas. We ordered four tapas: grilled shrimp, grilled calimari, bbq wings, and bacon-wrapped dates. After waiting 30+ minutes we reminded our server about our order, which was then brought out… cold. Not a satisfying $ 35. Ok stop for happy hour drinks, but then scram.

Fiesta — NOTHING to CELEBRATE about. I should have looked at the negative reviews before buying the $ 35 Groupon deal for fajitas and bottomless margaritas or sangria(for 90 min). I got suckered in to buying the deal from a friend(normally I never buy any Livingsocial/Groupon deals and now I realize why). I wanted to get a bang for my buck with the drinks before going out to the bars in the area, so I decided to try it out. The waiter was super slow and took his sweet time getting our margaritas. I had only a few margaritas in the 90 min timeframe, which were awful and very watered down. I’m a vegetarian and my friend loves meat, so we decided to get the veggie fajitas with all the meat on the side. Unfortunately, the waiter REFUSED to do this and wasn’t accommodating. This is a very SIMPLE request, which I’ve done at other places. I asked for the manager and about an hour after ordering our food(it was NOT busy), we finally got the fajitas(meat on the side). They were DISGUSTING and some of our friends never got their food and left. Aren’t mexican places known for the guacamole? That was the WORST part, the guacamole was terrible. From the poor customer service to watered down margaritas, disgusting fajitas, lackluster ambiance, I would NEVER go back, not even for a penny. When Fiesta goes out of business, there’s a reason to CELEBRATE!

I saw Fiesta advertised on Groupon offering appetizer, dinner, and bottomless margaritas or sangria so I decided to give it a try(despite so many negative reviews) with a collegue and boy was I happy I did! The restaurant is located on the second floor with the bar and dining rooms separated by the stairs. I informed the hostess about the groupon and immediately the manager came over, shook my hand, and offered to seat us. We had filtered water and chips/salsa delivered to our table within 30 seconds and were welcomed by various servers who warmly engaged us and went over the groupon and the options available to us to use. The margaritas were brought shortly after. We decided on the chicken quesadillas to start and beef/chicken/shrimp/salmon fajitas combo with rice for dinner. OMG! the fajitas were to die for… so much food we didn’t even use the tortillas. Not wanting to rush we asked if we could wait 30 minutes after ordering our appetizer to order dinner and they were happy to honor our request. We stayed for around 2.5−3 hours and never felt rushed to leave. The only negative to the evening was a large party of 8 or 10 who were obviously high on their bottomless drinks and were SO loud that they were disrupting everyone else in there. I don’t know that there is much the staff can do when people are disrepectful like this but I wanted to throw that in here because this is not necessarily a quiet place even though the dining room and bar are separated by the stairs. In short I’m surprised by the amount of negative reviews posted here about this restaurant as I found the value, service, and food all above average expectations. People will treat you the way you treat them and I imagine this could explain some of the varying reviews posted on Unilocal. In the end servers are people and some are simply better at their work than others and all of them have good and bad days. Regardless I always smile, make eye contact, ask them how they are, and ask for their input. I don’t complain unless something is really out of whack and even then I’m mindful of how I’m communicating the complaint to them. Eating out is supposed to be about having a good time and I don’t allow much to deprive me of that when I’m out.

Well, I guess you can clearly tell– its all about who you get as a server here. Our server treated us wonderfully — we had a groupon and we will DEF be back! The margaritas were refilled EVERY five minutes — the moment I got halfway through my margarita– BAM! he was there to refill it. The coupon says you get the«fajita for 2» option, which is literally a huge fajita platter you split between two. We got the steak fajita and it was like the slaughtered a cow for us– there was enough steak for FOUR people on that skillet He brought us chps and salsa every minute as well, and we ordered buffalo wings. they were HOT and delish, you have to get them! The quesidillas were GREAT too Only downside– i tried to order a mojito for happy hour and he never told us the mojito wasnt included in happy hour even though we just asked«is it happy hour, oh cool do you guys have mojitos»

I really didn’t want to believe the other reviews citing poor treatment of Groupon costumers, but in retrospect, I wish I would have listened. My two friends and I were seated at the bar and, despite being two feet from several bartenders at all times, it took over 15 minutes to get drinks and over 70 minutes to get food. There were three men next to us, also at the bar, and they received their entire meal in 15 minutes. They did not have a Groupon. If a restaurant is going to treat Groupon costumers with slow and unfriendly service, then why the &#^@ are they even offering a Groupon? I would return for the fajitas and the tasty salsa if it wasn’t for this experience.

I’m torn on this place. The food was fantastic, and the margaritas were some of the best I’ve ever had(my friend agreed), despite being purchased through a Groupon. That being said, they totally treated us like Groupon customers, as three people came by before we were able to get our first pitcher. It also took a while to get our second pitcher, but after about 5 margaritas each(for two of us), we were pretty wasted anyway, so we didn’t complain. Still, the service is not good. At all. There is no hostess stand, so we kind of wandered around the restaurant until someone came up to us. They only bring you two tortillas for what is easily four tortillas worth of food, which is just shady. And we sat around so long waiting for extra cheese that we didn’t eat any of it. A shame. Based on the food/price, this place deserves 5 stars.

If I had read the Unilocal reviews first, I would not have purchased the Groupon that brought me to Fiesta. I was, however, pleasantly surprised by my experience. On the food, it was quite good. My friend and I ordered a variety of items from the Tapas menu. Standouts were the chorizo, empanadas, and beef tostadas. We also shared a pitcher of house brand maragaritas, which was enjoyable. On the service, it was attentive, though there was quite a bit of confusion over the Groupon I had, despite the fact that as soon as i was sat i was asked if I had a Groupon and showed it to the server and manager. The staff kept thinking I had a Groupon for fajitas and unlimited margaratias. Instead, I had one for $ 30 off the meal. In the end, it was sorted out without any bad feelings.

I saw this place on Groupon offering fajitas and bottomless margaritas for four people for $ 70, not a bad deal, right? Too bad they totally treated us like Groupon customers and gave us really shoddy service! One guy came over to our table and took my Groupon and we ordered a pitcher of margaritas. Then another girl comes over and asks us for the Groupon… informed her we already gave it to the«server» so she said ok and we asked her for a pitcher of margaritas too since the one we already ordered hadn’t showed up yet. Then a different girl came over and we still hadn’t received our drinks so we ordered yet another pitcher from her. After probably 15 minutes of waiting, our half pitcher of margaritas finally showed up, which barely filled our four glasses. We placed the order for our fajitas while we polished off the drinks. Fajitas probably took at least 30 minutes to come out(mind you, this place was not at all packed!) but thankfully they kept the margaritas coming, finally. Gotta say the fajitas were pretty good except that they only gave you two tortillas and nobody came to check to see if we needed more until everything on our plate was gone. After sitting around for awhile and bullshitting after our meal, one of the girls came over to ask if we needed anything else and we told her that we hadn’t got a check but wasn’t sure how that worked with the Groupon. She said she’d bring it over, which she did promptly. We sat around a little while longer talking and finishing off the last of the margaritas after paying the taxes and then a different girl walked over and basically told us to leave. Excuse me? We are paying customers you know, not second class citizens since we came in with the Groupon. She said«we need this table»!!! There were tables all around us that were empty so yeah, I take that as asking us to leave. Pretty rude and not at all called for. If you don’t want people to pay with Groupons, DON’T OFFERGROUPONSPECIALS! It’s as simple as that. Too bad too because I would come back for the food but the service was horrible so I definitely won’t be back! This place needs some serious customer service training refresh!

Stumbled in here on Saturday afternoon and of course it was quiet, it was the weekend of thanksgiving and it was freezing outside. I saw the sign for happy hour so I wandered in. I sat there for the next 4 hours as the changed the TV to my football game(Go Aztecs!), fed me delicious frozen margaritas, calamari, and quesadillas. The food was good! Thanks for letting me hang out and for a great afternoon.

I’ve been here a few times and usually have fun. No line to get in, no cover, and they’re usually advertising buy 1 get 1 free drinks all night long, even on weekends. You won’t find that anywhere else. Pretty much everything will be at least $ 10, even shots(a little more expensive than the places next door), but for two drinks, that’s a steal. In other words: great place to start your night. Around 10 or so, there’s no one in here — literally no one sometimes. But that makes it easy to sit and chat with friends while you start off. And by 11:30−12, the place starts to fill out a little. There’s a small crowd dancing, and a small crowd sitting, so whatever your preference, you’ll fit in. The issue is that the crowd is not full or energetic enough to make this a go-to spot when you really want to get down and dance. I don’t know why they can’t compete because it’s pretty big and pretty nice inside. But alas, it’s never crazy in here. That might be a good thing for some, though, especially compared to Madhatter or Café Citron. Unlike that place, you won’t be crushed like a sardine or get bumped by someone’s booty at Fiesta. For me, though, those places have the energy I’m looking for after I’ve had a few, and they’re always where I end up. Still, Fiesta serves a vital role in my Dupont night out!

Where do I even begin on how awful this place is? If it were at all possible to give negative stars, I definitely would. This is going to be long but I can’t help it. There was just so much awful in such a small amount of time! Let me set this scene for you — A friend and I randomly decided to check this place out because they had a $ 5 margarita special going on for Cinco de Mayo. Silly us, we thought, «Five dollar margaritas? I’m in there!» This proved to be a terrible decisions. We had to hike up some steep stairs and not that we minded the exercise — it was really the thought of being wasted and trying to walk back down those scary ass stairs. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if a lot of accidents have occurred at Fiesta. When we finally got up there, we had to decide to sit at the bar or go to the restaurant area. We were in the process of making the decision when the bouncer started rushing us, stating that we couldn’t just stand around. Let me clarify to you that, even though it was Cinco de Mayo, they were not busy and no one was coming up so we were not at all in the way. Furthermore, we were not taking a long time to decide. It was not that serious. So, we go over to the bar and sit. We order the margaritas… Let me tell you about these margaritas. So, apparently you can only get one type of margarita, perhaps that was part of the deal of them being $ 5. Fine, that’s a little lame but I can deal. But now you’re telling me I don’t have the option of frozen or on the rocks? I can only have it on the rocks? Okay… That’s odd… Then you’re putting it in a tiny little plastic cup, full of ice? Yes, it was mostly alcohol but it should have been give the size and ice-to-liquid ratio. To make matters worse, it wasn’t mixed at all. It was literally alcohol and some margarita mix in a little plastic cup. When it was all said and done, I felt like I wasted $ 6(yes, I tipped) on this bullshit little cocktail.(Sidebar: I will be including a picture so you can see for yourself what I mean.) But wait, there’s more! We’re sitting at the bar like normal paying patrons and enjoying our nasty little drinks and trying to have a good time when I notice the manager staring at us and whispering something to one of the bartenders. The next thing I know, the bartender tells us that we can’t sit at the bar. He says that his manager wants him to make us move. I really felt for the guy because it was clear he didn’t want to be an asshole. He kept offering to just put the stools somewhere else or trying to show us other areas to sit. I just want to know, WHERETHEYDOTHATAT? Where is it hot in the streets to tell paying customers that they can’t sit at a bar? How is that going to make me want to order more drinks when you’re making the environment as inhospitable as possible? After that, we quickly finished our drinks and dipped. Needless to say, I plan to never go back. Outside of horrible service and shitty little drinks, it wasn’t even aesthetically appealing. The only positive thing I can give them is that I heard an Aventura song while I was there and I really like Aventura. If you find yourself nearby and tempted to try this place out, do yourself a favor and go to Café Citron instead.
