Mediocre– with potential.
Ok so I really would have given this place 2 – 2.5 stars but since there are no other reviews I don’t want to hurt their business however I will make suggestions on how to easily improve if they actually pay attention to Unilocal.
The good– menu is wide range from Burgers, Paninis, custom made pasta, etc. Taste was not bad and fries were good hot and crispy. Priced reasonable however my food was $ 11 and when I used my debit card I signed for $ 12.10 which is 10% tax and I just assumed it was even though clearly he quoted me $ 11 total. When noticing while waiting for my food all customers paying cash did not pay a «surcharge». If there is a surcharge I would have preferred to be notified.
The truck is not well decorated and I can tell they are not active on social media as there was no indication as such. Most of the successful food trucks decorate and you can keep abreast of their location easier via social media if you enjoy their food. You can also spread the word that way. It was all white and you could tell it was painted over as the previous paint was easy to notice.
Another criticism or suggestion is the service is pretty slow. A food truck that took 15+ minutes to prepare your food. There was no cashier as the cook and cashier were one in the same. You can take more orders and make more money by hiring a low wage cashier to handle the money even if you want to handle orders yourself to ensure proper preparation of the food. Prepare for success by planning to do business. If they had a line they would have lost customers due to slow service. In the 30 minutes I was there orders came in but never too busy otherwise it could have been a mess.
Finally I paid $ 2 for a can of diet coke. Most of the trucks charge $ 1 but I would have been ok with the $ 2 Except it was room temp. I asked for ice and he had none. I asked for any drink and guess what not a single cold drink in the house.
So you may see the reason why I wanted to 2 star it. I will try it out once more and if it gets better I’ll leave or improve upon the rating. If nothing changes I’ll give it the 2 stars I was initially inclined.
Food is decent and so are prices so this could be a 4 star place with just a few changes. I’m ok with an unpainted food truck as long as the food and service is at a higher level. Currently what you see is what you get.
