Nice venue and great courtyard. The variety/burlesque show is borderline stripping and not classy like I was expecting. However, you get what you pay for at $ 15 per person. It was definitely an interesting night which is what we were looking for. If you drink a lot you may enjoy it even more… at least those who were two sheets to the wind did. Lol They need to add chairs, liquor, and younger dancer’s. I don’t want to see my grandmother in a thong bikini and tassels.

I made a recent visit to Gallery OonH for a small reggae concert in the courtyard next to the gallery and had a very enjoyable experience. I didn’t walk into the gallery so don’t really have any idea what it’s like or how it’s being used, but I’m sure it will fit into an up and coming renovation of the H St. Corridor. As for the courtyard, it is a great music venue. With strings of lights adding to the ambiance when the sun goes down, you just get bathed in a sense of relaxation while enjoying conversation with friends, sharing a few drinks, and listening to some great music. I had a great time and hopefully will be back again soon to have some more.

The gallery and courtyard are a culture space frankly still evolving, an artwork-in-progress; they aim to renew and continue the traditions of this unique, timeless and ultimately humane festival to invoke the bonds of a close community in ways not matched by ways of the contemporary 21st century. I had the chance to celebrate the 2nd annual 12th night festival at OonH and it was a diverse, fun, exciting and unexpected event. We laughed, we ate, we drank, we mingled and networked and it turned out to be a great event. If you want to host a cultural event in the H street area then you need to check out Gallery OonH. It’s 2nd to none and the venue is very inviting and functional.
