I met the proprietors of the gallery, strangely, in London though we reside in Washington. Geoffrey Diner’s impeccable eye brings museum quality pieces to fairs around the world, we are fortune to have this hidden gem in DC. We’re talking major design and artwork, not for the timid, but even so Geoff is welcoming and is happy to answer any question on any level, never hesitating to reach for a reference book to loan from his vast(and on display) library. Ring ahead, they travel a lot, by appointment.

Here is where my mind is most days. When I went to this gallery the other week, I thought it was part diner, part gallery. Um, not so much. Diner just happens to be the owners’ last name. This gallery is inside a old row house. The exterior matches the interior because the Diner Gallery is one of the few places where you can purchase and see original Tiffany lamps. There is also art on display from the American and European artists. The work is mostly craft –oriented like candlesticks and other home décor. If you happen to need some work appraised, they can do it for you.
