I was here on a Saturday night and LOVED the dueling pianos! The atmosphere was energetic, albeit the venue was kind of dark, divey, and damp. However, the amount of fun everyone was having while belting out tunes really shrouded any negative notions I had about the venue. It was so much fun overall. It was also intimate so it felt like all the patrons were all singing along together and were old friends. Tons of fun! The drinks were good, slightly watered down but not terribly so. The service was quick and friendly at the bar too. I would totally come back here if in the DC area!

Actually REALLY liked this place. Cozy. Dark. Intimate. The food was kinda sad– for how great the atmosphere is, the food is kinda like a sketchy dive bar at best. Actually that makes dive bar food sound sound bad. Hmm, not sure how to describe the food — granted I only had nachos and crab dip, but it felt/tasted really«non-quality like.» Meaning, if someone said the crab dip costs less than a dollar, I wouldn’t be surprised… Lol Hope that’s helpful!

it was our first time here, atmosphere is fun this could be a place to start your night out in Georgetown, or I saw they had booths on reserve for parties, its fun to go out here when the club scene isn’t for you, we got there early for the warmup show and ordered drinks and an app my husband said the beer was cold enough but high for bottle beer almost 6 dollars I believe it was, the crab dip was enjoyable by both of us, as was the cheesecake we shared. I got the margarita it was a little underwhelming, so the show, the warmup show was eeehh .ok then the main show started a few min after 9 I believe the one guy hunter was great but he was sharing the other side with a guy who wasn’t but I wonder if we were just sitting on the side that was better than the other of the piano. the sound wasn’t great and early on we kept hearing the beep from the speakers I think cause they were to close to it all so I would say work on that and this place would be a-ok but eventually the piano guy moved things around and got the sound a little better. we left at 11 so I recommend coming a little early if you plan on getting a table and apps, ext. or else its standing room or a barstool. the booths seemed roomy enough and comfortable to host a bday party ext.

Awesome live piano music, they take requests, and the food is decent and cocktails are not too bad either. One of the few places in DC that isn’t overcrowded with consulting bros and actually has live music. Not a hipster hangout either — it finds that nice place in the middle of both extremes.

Love Georgetown Piano Bar! $ 6.50 wells on a Saturday night with wonderful live music and a fun atmosphere. Didn’t eat while there but the food around us looked great. Will be a regular spot for me when I’m in Georgetown!

This place is underneath the highway and beside the bike store. They offer contemporary Pub fare and have quite the piano player, I believe that his name is Hunter. Great place to go solo for a good time and an even better place to have a large gathering.

Enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was the fastest I’ve encountered in DC bar scene. Prices were very acceptable and the variety in beverages was very good. The paino player cracked a few good jokes making the crowd and myself laugh and the music was excellent. Next time I’ll bring a group and enjoy it even more. GPB I will return. Thanks for the fun.

We came here after an event for friend’s wedding. I’m usually the last person to want to hang out in Georgetown on a Saturday night, but this place is different. I knew from the moment i walked in and billy joel was playing. The music isnt too loud that you can’t hear your friends, and they’re songs you want to sing along to. Great addition to Georgetown.

I like this place! It’s a little more divey than you would expect, but I like the atmosphere. I’ve been here for the dueling pianos show, as well as just on Saturday and Friday nights. The crowd kind of varies based on what time you go(it gets louder and more enthusiastic later at night night). There’s always 1 – 2 piano players there. They generally play hits and have a song list you can choose from to make requests. Sometimes the crowd sings along enthusiastically, and other times it’s just me(I have no shame). I’ve been told that Spencer is the weekday piano player, while Hunter plays on weekends(they both play during dueling pianos). They seem to be the regular performers, but I’ve seen others playing there. Both Spencer and Hunter are really friendly and personable. They really try to please the crowd and get people amped up. Hunter also let my boyfriend sing a song once for my birthday and he played along with him, which was super nice! Drinks are pretty average priced for DC. They have a few specialty cocktails on the menu and then the standards(cider, beer, spirits, wine). Stay away from the champagne though. It was $ 7 for a split glass, and was the cheapest tasting«champage» I’ve ever had.

Meh. I’ve been to several piano bars and this was not a piano bar experience. While we are are ways excited to trying out new places, this was not worth it. First of all, a few of us arrived earlier than our reservation and decided to grab a drink at the bar. It wasn’t busy at all, and it took over 6 minutes for the bar tender to even acknowledge us. The bar is in the center of a circle shipped bar, so it’s not like he didn’t see us. The set up of most piano bars have the pianos as the focal point. .this was not the case. When you enter the bar there are a few rounded booths/tables to the left. There are some large pillars that block your view. There are also some small bar tables by the bar(that is also in the middle of the establishment and blocking the view). If we are being truly honest, I forgot we were even at a piano bar. Typically they are fun and you can tell you’re listening to live music. It just seemed like there was music in the background of a loud bar by the time things got busy. Perhaps it’s the acoustics, but still not worth the trip. We were there maybe 3 hours tops and decided to leave. We won’t be back.

I threw a huge 30th birthday party for my finance and it was absolutely wonderful. They roped off a section in the bar and we had food/drinks for 60 people. The food was delicious — they did a great job of keeping it coming. We had the meatballs, chicken skewers, and mozzarella tomato skewers — TOODIEFOR. They were super easy to coordinate with and even let us come in early to get organized. If you are going to throw a party — I would recommend this place. The piano player was amazing and even allowed our crazy group to do a little singing ourselves. Food — A+ Entertainment — A+ Overall — A++ Thanks so much!!!

I had an awesome time here with my friend on Saturday night! Neither of us had ever tried out this little hidden gem that you have to walk down a case of stairs to get into from the street, but she had heard it was fun so we decided to give it a try. We immediately sat ourselves down at the bar in the middle of the room and looked over the mixed drink menu that included a list of unique options with names like Elton John and Carlos Santa Rita. The drinks were good, a little pricy though… coming in at $ 11 a drink(so while you don’t have to pay a cover fee to get in, you will easily make up for it…) The music was great and the two piano players, who kept switching off throughout the night, knew their stuff and were extremely entertaining. We discovered pretty quickly that leaving the bar to see the piano and get in the middle of the dancing and singing is the best place to be, duh! One thing that made me a fan of this place is the fact that there are so many different age groups out and not just college kids, and everyone is dancing and belting out the lyrics to classics and more recent songs alike. I would be willing to give this piano bar 5 stars if my next visit is equally as great!

Meh. Don’t expect any serious piano songs from here. He’s got Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainer on the track, but Billy Joel is on the back of the playlist. My boyfriend was so excited for me to see this place, but I was left so disappointed. He claims the musicians are usually better. WHATENTERTAINERTAKES A BREAKFROM10:30 — 11:30ON A SATURDAYNIGHT?

What a wonderful find! My girlfriend and I made a trip down to DC from Philly to see the cherry blossoms(yes, this review is super late… sorry!), and we figured Georgetown is a must-see, too. Unfortunately, while it’s now hard for me to remember exactly what we did at Georgetown, this place is the one place I probably won’t forget for a while. We found this place searching through Unilocal after dinner. While we were a little hesitant about going at first(the path down to the basement was a bit uncomfortable for us since we’re from out of town and all.), it was a great decision. The bar was surprisingly crowded, the pianist/musician was wonderful, and we had a great night of listening to classic hits(especially entertaining when it’s drunk karaōke), occasionally dancing to the music, and people watching(it’s got s very diverse crowd) as we enjoyed our beers by a table on the side. Would love to come back!

I came here for happy hour and dueling pianos on Friday night and had a blast! I arrived pretty early around 7:00 to really take advantage of those happy hour deals, and there were only a couple other people in the bar. The place didn’t really start livening up until 8:30, which was to be expected. I thought that there would still be live piano music leading up the the dueling pianos, but I guess they don’t do the live piano at 6 on Fridays like they do on other nights. My disappointment was soon forgotten at 9 though, when the dueling pianists came out and gave a great show! Definitely worth coming to this slightly-hidden bar for the cheap happy hour drinks and amazing music!

Oh my gosh. Oh My Gosh. OHMYGOSH. OMG!!! Can I get a witness up in her! I didn’t say here… I said her! BECAUSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I has gotta say this place is FANTASTIC! Let me break it down for you to understand better… I bear witness, AMEN! — The groove. — The vibe. — The people. — The PIANOMEN! SWEETCAROLINE… I sing her name to the HEAVENSABOVE! Sweet Caroline it is! Or Rocky Top… or Walking in Memphis. I did all that stuff. I heard it and I did it. Walking in Memphis is kind of fun, but make sure you don’t get shot walking down Beale Street too late at night. Oh wait, let’s get back to the point of this review. What was my point? OH! THISPLACEISAMAZING!!! It’s kind of funny because this place is so unassuming. When I think of Georgetown at night, and a piano bar — I was afraid of running into the shit show they’ve got runnin’ at Smith Point. You know, the supposedly Ivy League educated, salmon shorts wearin’, Southern Republican types running around this joint. No, sir! Not at all! This place is diverse and has more color than salmon. Salmon is not a good color for anyone to wear. I am talking to you too Zoolander! Diverse, cool collected crowd with one purpose in mind — to sing along to the jammin’ dueling pianos and to have a few cheap drinks. Happy hour runs late here with $ 3 rails until 9pm. On Thursdays, happy hour runs the entire night! They offer both quality drinks and dive drinks. Depends on what you’re taste is. Either way, if you want a craft cocktail beverage that is very uppy Georgetown-ish… that can be accommodated. You’ll look sophisticated in your own mind, but just know you’re making away like a bandit because the drink you just bought is still cheaper than $ 13. IF you want a rail drink to make that really ugly guy in the corner playing with his in empty drink to seem more appealing since the date you came with only wants to get in your pants anyway — they can make that kind of drink too. At least at that point you can choose between the annoying horny date or the ugly guy in the corner. Always explore your options! Don’t say I didn’t warn you though. The place is not super huge, but it is not super small either. It can hold 150 comfortably both standing room and sitting. The bartenders know their stuff. They can make a good cocktail. Might I also mention the food is solid too and they offer a full extensive menu. If you get their sandwich; go for their house made seasoned chips versus the salad. You’ll thank me later. Will I return? Dude, I am holding my Unilocal Monthly Community HH here on the 20th. Don’t be surprised if you see me sitting on the bar belting out tunes with the pianist next time around. PS – they offer 10% off your total bill if you show them the Unilocal Check-in or tag them on social media with @gtownpianobar. UnilocalON… and FUC my review. Done.

I work with a colleague who who is here from FL on a long term contractual gig. Occasionally, I give her a ride home from L’Enfant plaza by way of the Rock Creek Pkwy. As we passed the Kennedy Center, she asked me about Georgetown. At 6:30 pm, on a Friday evening, I was in no mood to sit in M St. traffic. But, I am a good ambassador for DC, so off we went. I’m glad we did. I found The Georgetown Piano Bar! First I love piano bars like a fat kid loves cake. GPB is casual, comfortable, friendly, LOUD, happy and the BEST happy hour. Mike was our bartender. I didn’t try the food, but the drinks were great! $ 1 off beers, $ 3 rail drinks. Two rounds for a party of 2 was only $ 12! It was not crowded, the piano player was just starting his set. He allowed people to sing with with his mic(they were terrible, but he was good)! Well worth braving the w/e tourists!

While in town visiting a friend, we stumbled upon this little tucked away establishment! We walked in, got IDed, walked down the stairs and into a lounge-y area. The bar was in the middle, in like a pit, there were chairs surrounding it. There were some hightop and some lowtops around the edges. A piano player was in the back corner, playing everything from Johnny Cash to N*SYNC!!! It was fantastic. It was crowded but no one bothered anyone else. Everyone was just having a good time hanging out. If I remember correctly(LOL), the drinks were cheap. i stuck to bud light, which was about $ 3 a bottle. I didn’t even have to ask the bartender he just kept bringing me new ones! It didn’t hurt that he was cute, too! We stayed here almost all night, just cutting up, singing along, even did a little dancing. It is very dark inside, but I do know the bathrooms were clean and there was never a line! I would totally go back next time I am in town!
