If you want celebrity quality cuts/​color/​highlights this is the place to get them! I’ve been a client of owner Turgay Yavuz for 15 years (I followed him and his fellow stylists when they broke away from George at the Four Seasons) and I’d never go anywhere else. I get compliments on my highlights and cut all the time– I can’t tell you how many people I’ve recommended this salon to because of it. They have many celebrity clients (senior women in U.S. government and nationally known television news personalities) with good reason, all the stylists are great at their craft and 100% focused on taking care of their clients. It’s a lovely salon staffed by wonderful people who make you feel comfortable and welcomed each time you visit. Please see Turgay’s prestigious mention in InStyle Magazine’s Beauty Black Book for 2014 (search for «Turgay Yavuz InStyle»). This was so well deserved and I was thrilled to see his talent recognized in such a widely read publication.

Once again, I love my new hair color and gorgeous haircut. Turgay has always listened carefully to me and does exactly what I want with my hair. The best results are when I ask for his advice on color, hair style, and length. You walk into the salon one way (dry, brittle, or dull hair, too long, or worse) and are transformed by the time you leave with beautiful, shiny, and rich hair. Everyone at this salon is friendly and helpful and takes pride in being part of such a great salon. I’ll be back at the salon in a few weeks, this time to see Onder for a Keratin treatment; I won’t go anywhere else.

I hate to say it but Onder ruined my hair. He may be very talented i am sure but its very disappointing that I saw all these reviews and decided to get my hair cut from him. He cut it way too short, its even shorter than it was when i had it shaved off. I waited for 3 months to have it grow out so I could have a nice hair cut.
I do wish him all the best but its a pity that it has come to this… Once he cut it short, there is no way to fix it except return your money back. I wish he had been conservative cutting it short… Anyway he has ruined the whole experience for me and the holidays…

Turgay does the best blonde in the city. Hands down and no comparison… we are talking ideal. FAB. I am stopped on the street at least once a week. I have sent many friends and all come away with the same level of over-​the-​moon happiness. He is also a superb hair cutter and one of the nicest people you’ll meet.

Super pleased with my cut and highlights. Onder was very professional and did a wonderful job. I haven’t been this happy with my hair in years. Definitely recommend if you value quality and exceptional service.

They took me as a walk-​in no problem, were very friendly, and did a great job on my manicure. The facility is very nice and upscale. I definitely recommend this place for a manicure, and the hair stylists look like they’re doing great work (though I did not get my hair done, just watched).

Really special people here. I’ve been a client of Mariangela’s for many years and when I had a special family need, she immediately contacted Onder who right away offered to help out. He was very warm, kind and generous to my family. I know the folks here all have great hearts. And, conveniently, give awesome haircuts!

I called yesterday morning for a facial after my skincare line, Murad, recommended the salon to me (they use their products that I have been using for 5 years). I was thrilled with all the time that Linda took to get a feel for my skin. She explained everything that she was doing and gave me really helpful tips. I have been on the lookout for a good facial since I’ve lived in DC, and this is by far the best. Could not have asked for more. Will be a regular from hereon out. If you care about healthy skin, I highly recommend Linda for a facial.

I have been seeing Linda at Georgetown Salon and Spa for the last 13 years. I have followed her from Tara Salon to Toka Salon and now to Georgetown Salon and Spa (which used to be Tara). Linda primarily does waxing services for me, and is the best I have ever had. The waxing never hurts, and she takes a lot of care with my eyebrows, making sure they are even and polished. I also go to Linda for facials and massages on occasion, and both are excellent. After her facials, my skin always has a glow. Her massages are great because if you ask, she can use very deep pressure (which is my preference), but she can also be more gentle if that is your preference. I highly recommend Linda for all three services.

This place was so disappointing from start to finish. I called in the morning to inquire about an appointment for a manicure that afternoon and also inquired about the cost of removing gel polish. The girl who answered the phone was very nice until she asked if I was a current client and I let slip I was visiting from out of town — I suspect my entire experience was altered at this point, though I’m not sure why. When I arrived for my appointment, she had marked me for both a manicure and pedicure, which is fine except when she questioned about it -«Are you sure you didn’t ask for a pedicure? I could have sworn you did.» No, I’m pretty positive I only want a manicure, but thanks for attempting to make me feel like an idiot.
The woman who did my nails was pleasant enough, though I wouldn’t call her friendly at all. She had quite a time getting the gel off my nails, as it seems the normal place I go to at home uses far superior products to what they use– she even basically admitted that when we discussed it. I had elected just regular polish and the manicure seemed to be just fine after that, though she allowed zero drying time between coats — more on that in minute.
Upon attempting to pay with a credit card, I learned you couldn’t leave a tip on card– cash only. But, good news! There’s an ATM right here and it only charges you $ 2.50 to get money out. Super sketch.
Back to my nails. I didn’t leave until the woman doing my nails checked them and determined they were set and ready to be on my way. They were ruined within two hours since they never really hardened because she just slopped three wet coats on top of one another. I made the decision not to go back to have them fixed because, honestly, I had no desire to deal with the attitude I would have surely gotten had I gone back. Maybe the hair stylists are worth going to this «spa», but don’t bother if you’re a newcomer, I’m sure there are dozens of better places in Georgetown, and probably less expensive.

My friend and I won a gift certificate here at a silent auction. It’s a more upscale spa than some, but not as fancy as I expected which isn’t really good or bad to me. It’s clean. I got my first facial which I GREATLY enjoyed. I was kind if confused because I was told facials were actually not really enjoyable, but mine definitely was very relaxing. So I don’t know if that it means it won’t have the effects it was supposed to or not. My friend got a massage but said she didn’t go for the whole time and stopped 4 minutes or so short and didn’t focus on the areas she asked her to focus on where she had tension so she was pretty disappointed understandably. We both got pedicures and manicures. I loved the fact that they had Deborah lipmann polishes to use! I’d say it wasn’t the best quality nail work but also not the worst. My friend’s definitely turned out more sloppy than mine so again, disappointment. No one also told my friend about the cost of removing the shellac but they didn’t end up charging her for it in the end which was very nice. The receptionists were both very friendly also. I’m not sure I would come back again given that I could probably find these services offered for a more affordable price but maybe. I also chat comment on the hair salon services they offer but when I walked our there did seem to be a bunch of women with great hair!

Ondar has been my hair stylist for 7 years. His work is by far the best I have seen throughout several salons in the United States and Europe, including Paris. Extremely detail oriented and TALENTED. The entire team of the Salon is very polite and accommodating. I have only heard positive comments from all clients.

My mom and I have been going to Onder for some time now. He moved to Georgetown Salon Spa almost one year ago from the Four Seasons and we followed (we would follow him anywhere!). Onder is the best in the business for color, cut, updos and blow outs. It’s rare to find a hair stylist that is fabulous at all of those things. Beyond his skill level he has a super warm personality and is always 100% focused on the clients satisfaction. He will do anything to make you happy. If you aren’t 100% satisfied, tell him, he will make it right.
If you’re influenced by celeb hair Onder has done, you won’t hear about it from this humble stylist but the list is notable.
The salon itself is bright with lots of large windows and natural sunlight flooding into Georgetown Salon Spa. I haven’t tried other stylists here or the spa services but the spa area looks inviting!

I had my hair cut and highlighted here, and I am very pleased with the results. I’ve visited a number of salons in the DC area, and can confidently say that you can trust your hair to their masterful hands, and that its worth every penny. The color blended beautifully with my existing and grown-​out highlights, which doesn’t happen very often. Great find and I will be going back!

Turgay is amazing. Earlier this week I has a horrible cut at a different salon in DC. Having seen Turgay’s reviews on Unilocal,I made an appointment with him to see if he could fix the damage. He was great — he really listened to what I wanted, carefully cut my hair, and along the way paused several times to ask if I liked what he was doing. I came to him for a fix, but will definitely be returning for regular hair cuts! Highly recommended.

I’ve been a client of Turgay’s (one of this salon’s new owners) for about 10 years during which time I was an on-​air correspondent for CNN. Without a doubt, he is one of the best in the business! He is superb at color, blow outs and giving beautiful hair cuts. I always knew I’d look my best when I’d have an appointment with Turgay. Since leaving television journalism, I have continued to see Turgay for color and cuts and his nephew, Undar, to get my hair professionally straightened. The latest non-​toxic product Undar uses (much improved from the Brazilian treatment) is super fast — the whole process only took 90 minutes — and my hair is as soft as silk. I highly recommend this spa and Turgay and Undar to anyone!

Best salon in DC hands down. I’ve been going to Turgay and his nephews for 7 years, when they were at another salon, and they are the best stylists in the city. I won’t go anywhere else for blonde highlights because there’s no one I trust more than them. Now that the spa is under their ownership, the experience could not be more delightful — wonderful atmosphere, excellent customer service, and the addition of great spa services that were previously missing. I would recommend this spa to anyone.

I called last minute to make an appointment on a Saturday and the stylist was able to see me early in the morning. I arrived 10 minutes late because of a race but he still greeted me with a big smile. Receptionist and staff were very helpful and courteous on the phone. I love my color, the efficiency of the service and my haircut was exactly what I wanted… Which never happens! I highly recommend this place.

I made An appointment for a cut and blow dry and got a call back from the salon to confirm it. When I arrived there seemed to be confusion about my appointment (weren’t able to find it?) and who was available to cut my hair. As this was my first visit, it did not make me feel confident about my decision to come give this place a try.
I finally ended up with a gentleman who had formerly been a stylist at the four seasons across the street who recently moved over to this salon. During the cut he seemed distracted by the other clients in the salon and people popping in to say hi. I was unsure of what this would mean for my hair. However, despite splitting his attention, my haircut was spot on. One of the best cuts I’ve ever gotten.
Conclusion: I gave this visit 3 stars because it was so bumpy from the get go, but there is a lot of potential for a better experience next time. The salon recently changed ownership, so I would expect that it takes some time to work through the issues I encountered. The actual haircut was so good that I would suggest this place to others, but with fair warning about the service and the high prices.

I had my hair cut here (can’t remember the name of the stylist, unfortunately). I said I wanted a trim and she cut off around five inches! Additionally, I asked for a heat protectant spray and they sold me a $ 57 bottle of hair oil. I should have checked the packaging before I left, but I was ready to go and I trusted that they knew what they were doing.
The two stars are for the shampooist (sweet and AMAZING scalp massage) and the hair styling itself. My hair looked beautiful when I left, so I didn’t realize how much she had cut off until I was home.
And let’s talk price. I don’t remember what I paid, but it was WAY too much (and I’m used to paying a lot for my hair).
I won’t be going back.
