Hemphill Fine Arts is part of a new arts ‘hood that has sprung up on 14th Street within the past few years. The space itself is worth stopping in — it is impressive. By looking around the work on the walls, it becomes clear that Hemphill has become a center for D.C. artists. The art is mainly contemporary that varies in media from up-and-coming artists, artists that can be classified as intermediate, and established artists. Stop in for an exhibition– the focus of these are typically either history or society.
