Great food at good prices. My favorites include the Singapore noodles or the stir fried lobster with ginger.

This is a little dive in China Town. My favorite restaurant across the street went out of business so we were searching for a new place to visit. There isn’t anything special about the décor or old/bland tables. If you visit with great company, you won’t notice how old the items are. The egg drop soup was decent. The hot and sour soup was yummy. Hubby loved his cashew pork dish. The vegetable fried rice was good. No one has a sense of urgency so allow time to get your food. We collected menus on both sides of the block and checked items and prices. Jackey Café had the best value for money in the immediate 2 block radius. It is worth visiting at least once.

The crab Rangoon has no crab and very little cream cheese, the French fries are a weird chewy texture. Even drunk, this place should be a last resort.

Main entrée was bland had to send back and chicken on the stick was so salty you could see the salt sitting on top tried to scrap it off but gave up!

On my way back to NY, I stopped in DC. I went here and ordered some food to go. I had chicken lo main and General Tao chicken. The General Tao Chicken was great. It had nice heat to it and the food portion was large. The lo main was great too, with a nice helping of veggies.

We found a half inch long bug in the soup, but the good thing is they offered 20%off… hooray :(

We have an early dinner here before checking out International Spy Museum within 4 blocks away. We read the Unilocal reviews that there Peking Duck is much better than their rivials around Chinatown DC. Yes, it was yummy the Peking Duck. I give this restaurant yummy for food but the waitress was lousy. She had an attitudue serving us. She failed to bring our rice with Eggplant dish. Wait staff service needs improvement here.

This is my favorite lunch spot for Chinese food in Washington DC it has not been rated high enough but I have been going here for years. it’s also open late night the food is always good the price is always reasonable and they even make food without msg upon request. Definitely very authentic and cleaner than most of the other places in the area.

The chicken is gross here. A friend and I decided on here instead of Full Kee. Horrible mistake. The chicken was musty like it was freeze burn. NEVERAGAIN!

Food is delicious! Service is trash! One of the concierge guys recommended this spot as I craved authentic Chinese food. Came here and ordered to go. At the beginning the lady who took my order was attentive but then I was asked to move about 3 times… no! Then she came back and told me they needed my table… wtf! So you want me to stand for the next 10mins. Anywho food came out and I left. I ordered the kung pao chicken and it was yummy!

My husband and I are here in DC for a weekend vacation. We have tried 3 different restaurants for the pass 2 days. Oh weren’t we disappointed. We decided to give DC China Town a last chance. Jackey café by far is the best in terms of food, service and dining environment combine together. The food is authentic Chinese flavour, the service is quick and friendly. It is worth trying!

Never in my life have I been more fulfilled. Went in for a cheap dinner, left feeling pleasantly full! Ask for the special menu. The deep fried lobster looked delicious, but my garlic chicken was also a-okay. Perfect for families!

Pretty solid take out/dine-in spot, and hard to beat the $ 7.95 dinner special in Chinatown. Decent Chinese food, fast service, and good price. Would definitely go back for a quick take out meal for dinner.

Since my favorite Chinese place is closed for the moment and Jackey café is one of the very few Chinese places that have Beef/Pork with string beans… I’ve been ordering from here due to desperation. Their pork with string beans is hit or miss. But my boyfriend has ordered the triple delight which is always good. This review is only for the delivery. The delivery guys have always been friendly.

After looking for few places to eat while in DC, we ended up at Jackey because of their $ 3.50 lunch deals, but ended up spending more money then that… When it comes to Chinese food, I know what to get — NON-Americanized food — and even more thankful, in our group we have one mainland Chinese person… I got my typical — eggplant in garlic sauce and chicken in garlic sauce. The eggplant was good… I would get this all the time… as for the chicken in garlic sauce, while the dish was good, amount of chicken in the dish was lacking… there were more veggies unfortunately. Now, as for the price they charge you… they have lunch price and dinner price… I believe they are different by $ 2… In all honesty, I didn’t see the portion differences between dinner and lunch sizes… the egg plant was dinner size and chicken was lunch size… the plate they used were about the same and the amount of food given was about the same… when I looked at the offerings of lunch and dinner, I asked the waitress and she told me the dinner price used a bigger plates and had more food… maybe it’s a visual effect thing, but I didn’t see it unfortunately — they looked the same to me! Inside the restaurant is small, although I believe they have another room to the side… but seating area are tight and don’t be surprised if you bump into others. As for the $ 3.50 meal, it’s basically your Americanized Chinese food on a plate with ½ the plate being covered by rice :)

Not very big on this place and I’m not sure where to begin. I guess I’ll begin with the crispy intestine. Their version is just not very good. it’s rather dry, it has a very, very dark color to it and not the orange-red like color that it should have. It’s rather shriveled and dried out a bit. When done right it’s an incredible appetizer and it just wasn’t done right here. The ox-tail noodle soup is not worth getting. You get the slimmest cuts of the ox-tail in your soup. It’s almost like why bother advertising it if it’s going to be that small. The duck soup is mainly full of really thin cuts of duck where instead of juicy duck you get bones. The clams with black bean sauce were pretty solid however. It’s not worth going back to.

Wow this place was disappointing. The steamed dumplings were mealy and flavorless, my daughters bubble tea wasn’t really a bubble tea but rather a smoothy with bobala in it. She commented that it had a very chemical taste to it. The service was lackluster — the waitress really didn’t seem to be paying attention to us and the atmosphere was pretty blah. We got deceived by the«top 100 chinese restaurant» sign out front — I do to know who they are rated against — but other than my acceptable orange beef this place was awful. It wasn’t even cheap. Ugh.

One star for 2 main reasons. 1. First off, Bad service: angry servers and cannot take the order correctly. I ordered the«Garlic Shrimp» and out came«Curry Chicken». I politely let them know it was incorrect and they proceeded to give us the stank face and came back with«Curry Shrimp»…I just let it go, i was starving and didn’t feel like seeing another stank face and ate it. 2. …Brings me to my second point. The food was horrible. although it was not what i was expecting, i’ve had curries at other places and this was the worst curry I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t feed it to my dog.(I also ordered the veggie eggrolls which were edible.) –obviously I would not go back. and would not recommend this place to anyone

I went here for a quick dinner after a happy hour by the Verizon Center. It wasn’t crowded on a weeknight and I was able to sit right down and grab a table. This isn’t an «ambiance» place and is nothing fancy but has average to above average Chinese food. The spring roll wasn’t greasy and was okay but nothing spectacular. The hot and sour soup isn’t too spicy but is perfect on a cold DC winter evening. The pork lo mein was enjoyable. The pork was lean, the noodles weren’t greasy, and the portion was large. The service was quick and friendly. While this isn’t a must try in DC, it is a good place for a quick dinner.
