My experience with Keepers was phenomenal and commendable. I applied through Monster and got a call for an associate interview within the hour. I visited the DC location the next day and got an assignment for the remainder of the week. Through Keepers, I was able to get extension after extension and eventually within the short time of two months I was offered a position at the assignment.
Not only was Keepers able to provide me assignments that were 40 hours, but they also submitted my resume to several other locations for a permanent position while I was on my second assignment. The associates keep you updated with emails almost daily and do on-​site visits to see how the assignment is going.
I am so thankful to Keepers for helping me find employment and couldn’t be happier with their assistance on building my resume, experience and skill set.

This place is extremely unprofessional and lacks good ethics. If you are looking for a temp agency go elsewhere and save yourself the inconvenience of dealing with a poorly ran and operated organization. I don’t recall explicitly applying to this agency but I could have unknowingly applied through a random Craigslist ad. I received a call from a representative in their Alexandria location that contacted me about a position they thought i’d be a good fit for.
Initially, the recruiter did not identify which organization they were representing nor did they reveal which client they were hiring for even after me asking. After talking a bit, they decided to forward my application to their DC office. I was told that someone would follow up with me before COB or by tomorrow. Two days passed and no one contacted me. I called them back to follow up and I was placed on an extended hold. Eventually, I hung up and used google to find the DC location. After speaking with Sarah (who wasn’t very pleasant) I was informed that their recruiter was on the other line and would call me back later. Within 10 mins, I got a call from a pleasant sounding lady who identified herself as Valerie. She asked me a couple of questions and after «screening me» she decided I was a good candidate and told me she wanted to me come into their office for an interview.
She told me that i would need to take a skill test so she could test my proficiency and competency on Microsoft software. We spoke early in the morning around 10am and she said she would send the test to me after 5pm. I told her that wasn’t convenient for me if she expected me to complete the test before 10am the next day. She said she would sent it shortly after we got off the phone but didn’t send it until 3 that afternoon. I attempted to take the test later in the evening but the website was down. I went into the office the next day for the interview and that’s when the shadiness was more apparent. Initially Valerie was very nice and personable. Once I started asking more prompting questions she became flustered and short with me. She mentioned they had various «multi-​million» dollar companies they recruited for and placed their «associates» in high positions yet the pay range was $ 10.50-$ 13. I proceeded again against my better judgment and was told I would need to complete «in house assignment/​orientation» which I was told it would consist of three hours. After doing busy work for what seemed like hours, Valerie discussed my test scores with me and told me what my pay grade would be. After not being satisfied with the compensation, I kindly told her I no longer wished to move forward.
I can’t believe they are really trying to pay people peanuts while they bank big bucks for your hard labor. The other thing that was really off-​putting was the emphasis of the on-​call system they have in place. Basically you have to call into the office everyday to check if there is work for you. I don’t understand how this makes any lick of sense if they guarantee you 30 hours a week? Also, and most important, I heard the three women in the office; Sarah, Valerie and the «manager» Kate chatting unprofessionally about clients and other «associates.»
I would be extremely cautious of predatory recruiting tactics from this company and/​or others.

Keepers is a relentless firm who will not stop bombarding my office with calls, even though we have repeatedly said we are not interested in working with them. Kate is usually the one who calls, and there have been times when I was hung up on when I asked who was calling. Very unprofessional; this behavior certainly does not make us want to begin a partnership.

This review will reflect that one recruiter can sour an outlook on the agency as a whole.
First time I contacted them for an HR position, I went in to the office (this was probably 2010) met with the recruiter. He actually seemed great. Was straight forward, prepped me for the interview. The feedback came swiftly. Didn’t get the position, however, getting back to me is always a plus.
About a year later and still looking for a full time vs temp work. Ended up with another recruiter. Not so impressive. Yes I can be one of those difficult candidates, however I showed up to the interview with the recruiter 10 minutes early. She showed to the office 30 minutes late. No apologies. Also this was a mid level HR Generalist position. One of the first things out of her mouth was that I had to take a typing test. SERIOUSLY? Especially since I didn’t have to jump through those loops a year ago. When I asked why given the position, her answer was that the typing tests were like the SATs, no one cares really or looks at them, but you have to take it anyway.
Will not go back to them. Would not use them as a staffing agency.

I was laid off and wanted something to do until I found a permanent job. Took the test and was told I would be earning $ 10.50 an hr. i went on two assignments. The first one was great. The second was two weeks. Week two comes to an end I go to tell the client bye and it was great working with them. They give me the side eye. Once I’m done making a jerk of myself. The client says o we called yesterday and extended you for two days. Talk about foot in mouth. I call the agency. They tell me o we extended you for the week. How about I’m temping for a reason. Let me decide if I am going back. So this week I made an appt for a resume workshop and to get some stuff done. I get a call today telling me I’m no longer needed because I didn’t keep in contact with them all week and a client wanted me. First off yeah right u would have called me if someone requested me. Second u could have kept the phone call at 9 am to fire me. I’m a damn temp. Third pay more than 10.50 to good talent. Fourth how about you know what is going on between you and the client. I shouldnt have to tell you they want you to contact them. You get $ 30 an hr to do your job, give me 10, and i have to do your work too! Good riddance keepers because I am no longer trying to be kept by you. Don’t waste your time, I make more collecting unemployment. Try Ranstad, whitman, or anyone but them.

Agreed with the comments below. My problem was not with the person mentioned in the reviews; another woman was very rude to me but she is no longer there. I asked a lot of questions because it seemed like a great deal for them to guarantee you 30 hours a week and she got very short with me.
Anyway, my placement was advertised me to as a temp-​to-​perm. Never got hired permanently. In fact, they would dodge the question and prolong it for weeeeeeks whenever I followed up. Oh — here’s a good story too — the company I was temping for was looking to make some hires. The partner at Keepers called me to «check in» (so fake) AND ASKED ME if I could PUT HIM in touch with HR so that they could recruit perm hires for them.

After reading other reviews about Keepers, I was a bit skeptical about joining, but less than three months later I realize it is one of the best decisions I have made. I have worked with several other staffing agencies in the past year trying to find a permanent position at a decent company, but nothing has worked out… until now.
Back in July, I sent my resume to Keepers on a Monday, they called me on Tuesday, I interviewed on Wednesday, they called me with a position on Thursday, and I started Friday, and I have been there ever since. My placement was a typical temporary position, but I realized the organization I was with had great potential if I played my cards right. I knew I wanted to stay on at this organization, and talked both to my supervisor there and Keepers to figure out how to do this. It took some time to figure everything out, but eventually I was hired on by this dream organization.
Keepers was always great with communication and in helping me secure my new position. I am so appreciative of all the help the staff at Keepers provided me.

I just looked at my W-​2 from these guys from last year and thought it would be nice to warn others. RUN! Keepers is a joke. They «hire» you and ask you to check-​in daily to see if you should come into the office for on-​call hours or not bother at all. Nice idea if they had remotely enough contracts to garner you paying $ 12+ in Metro or parking only to come in for 2 hours, make $ 25 before taxes, and be sent home. Even worse is the daily call with Allyson who is curt and unprofessional (putting it nicely) which is a joke because you’re never assigned anywhere. After 2 weeks I found a real agency, took a temp-​to-​perm position, and have been happily permanently employed with my current employer for a year now.
Do yourself a favor: sleep in, skip Keepers, save the money you’d spend «on-​call» and don’t stress the money you won’t make. Btw, on-​call 2 week total after deductions: $ 60 bucks.

In the beginning I was excited to work with them. They seemed friendly and helpful. After a while I noticed a change in their attitude when I was getting interviews without their assistance. Even though during the orientation we were told that they understood we were looking for work else where. They were phony, impersonal and condescending. Every line they gave me was clearly rehearsed. They consistently did not meet their «30 hour a week guarantee» and no longer placed me on assignments longer than a few days. They never facilitated an interview for me nor did they ever put me on a «temp-​to-​perm» assignment.
I am thoroughly annoyed and disappointed with them and would never recommend them to anybody. I never personally met anyone who got a permanent job through keepers. Repeating a review of their Alexandria site: they are not interested in developing careers, they’re just pimps.
