I work at the bike shop next door and let me say the best thing about L’Hommage is their breakfast bagel. It’s the only thing I’ve ever gotten here but hey if you want to go somewhere else for a tasty everything bagel with smoked salmon and cheese for less than $ 2? Be my guest. Maybe it’s convenience… maybe it’s long hours at the shop and the carb craving… whatever it is, it is hard to beat.

The breakfast is mediocre, nothing that I ever crave or need to have. Seems like a pre-packaged breakfast sandwich every time, and never fresh. They placed bacon on my breakfast sandwich rather than the ham I ordered, so when I corrected it, the employee peeled the bacon off and slapped a cold piece of deli ham on it. The coffee isn’t wonderful either, especially with«A Baked Joint» on the same block. Overall«meh», and we likely won’t return again.

I’ve tried several times to support this business considering that I work nearby and love supporting businesses in my community. However, after quite a few visits, I have to conclude that I can no longer spend my money here. On each and every visit, the employees seem unaware of the menu, what they offer, and how to make it. Twice, I’ve received my iced drink in a hot cup(dulce de leche) without the milk and without the DDL sweetener. I’ve ordered tea, and the employee handed me the tea packet under the assumption, I suppose, that I would make the tea elsewhere. There are other options nearby that I think would serve far better in terms of service and product value when looking for coffee, tea, or baked goods.

Stopped in on a Sunday morning for some take-out pastries. Ordered four items(croissants and some twisty things with raisins), all stale. They tasted fine after a few seconds in the microwave, but I was expecting at least somewhat fresh. The coffee was good.

Came here for coffee and a lox croissant sandwich. Thanks for toasting it perfectly. Love that they gave smoked salmon instead of cream cheese lox spread!

This review pertains to the L’Hommage Bakery, adjacent to the restaurant, that serves breakfast/lunch options. Simply put, it’s an absolute joke. Maybe the restaurant’s food, staff, and menu is great — but the Bakery they’re running is absolutely disgusting. You should be able to walk in, enjoy a smattering of well-made quick eats and pastries, and then be on your way in a reasonable timeframe. Not the case. Sadly, the owners hired the cheapest, least competent, and most careless people they could find to handle the counter service. Just for example, my first time there: I ordered a bacon egg and cheese bagel and a coffee with two people in front of me in line — that’s it. No weird modifications, nothing complicated. They had to make the bagel THREE times, didn’t speak even somewhat intelligible English(to the point where it was actually an issue), and forgot the coffee twice, before announcing the cash register had broken. Never seen anything like it. The eggs were microwaved and fake, the bagel was soggy, wasn’t toasted(even though I said yes when they asked) and it tasted like plastic. Maybe the owners don’t realize there are several other Bakeries/Cafes around K St. and Mass that use real ingredients and actually try to make things presentable. If they aren’t going to make a decent effort they should close the Bakery, and just focus on the restaurant. Maybe dinner at the restaurant is life-alteringly awesome, but I know for a fact that the breakfast and lunch options at the«all day» Bakery is a complete failure. Hire some new people, create an actual menu/listing, and get a few months of training and experience under your belts. Won’t return.

Nice, small bakery. Traditional variety. Staff is very eager to serve and please. Good music and relaxed environment– great place to sit and enjoy your device:) Outdoors is very spacious and not directly on the street. This is new construction so it lacks the old DC ambiance, but it is squeaky, shiny clean.
