Hands down my fav spot in DC to hear hip hop music from the golden era and they have good drinks … I always go there and get lost in the vibe

Old Head Central lol. That’s the quickest way to describe Lounge of Three. So far I haven’t found any cover on the the few nights I’ve stopped by, mostly during the week. They have some decent drink specials and every time I’ve stopped in they’ve got henny on special, not that I drink much cognac but if you’re a henny fan maybe stop by for that. There isn’t a whole lot of space on the first floor but the music is usually pretty good, a lot of hip hop. It might switch up to a younger crowd on the weekends but weekdays the old heads rule lol. Not a bad U street bar though.

I love lounge of III. It’s easily my favorite spot in DC to just chill and enjoy great music. It’s a great atmosphere with relatively inexpensive drinks. The DJ is always on point, with music ranging from 70s soul to 90s underground hip hop.

Love it! Best low key bar on U Street. Happy hour has $ 5 wings and $ 5 rum punch. Also fries or spinach. DJ plays 80s and 90s music at 6pm during Happy Hour. Also, Happy Hour lasts from 4pm-8pm. Can’t beat that. I will be back again very soon!

I stopped by this place on a Tuesday night for a drink. You walk right into the bar area where the music is bumping loud! But with great music. I get New York basement vibe from this place. The bartender was very friendly & made solid drinks. There is an upstairs but I didn’t go. I’ll definitely be visiting the small bar again. It’s actually one block up from bens next door.

Best Hip Hop music in rotation, cheap with great pours drinks, great people watching and most of all bartenders are some of the best U St has to offer. Pros: Bartenders, location on U St great for bar hops, price, music and easy. Cons: if you are looking for fancy and fluff. this isn’t your spot so it would be a con. If you love easy, good people & chill… there are no cons.

We decided to stroll around & ended up popping our head in. Nice little pub with a live DJ spinning old school, new school R&B & Rap. It’s a tight in a good way space & we were able to grab seats at the bar. Had a few cocktails & ended up playing Blackjack. They had a game box in the corner of the bar, nice touch for the card/game players :-) A very nice mixed crowd & I enjoyed seeing that. It turned into standing room/wall leaning only by 10, so noted for the round two visit. Another DJ got on the 1’s &2’s & we played more cards & had a few more rounds & enjoyed the ambience of the cozy bar front.

Definitely an interesting place. I would’ve never gone in if my friends weren’t inside. There are two floors and we went upstairs. The music is super loud, but it’s good music that the DJ was playing. I just couldn’t really talk to anyone without yelling. My wife ordered a drink and she wasn’t very impressed with it. For a Wednesday night, the drink prices were pretty steep. There was a good crowd out and I loved people watching. I don’t know if I’ll be back.

My favorite low key spot on U street with great food and strong drinks. My girl Geri always hooks me up on Tequila Tuesday and Greg goes hard hosting karaōke. Always my go to if I’m trying to chill low key

Went back to LO3 on a Wednesday night for a birthday get together. Arrived around 6:30pm and since the upstairs wasn’t open, folks made room for me at the bar. There were a few people eating, but after they left, my party was the only one there. The DJ was playing some great hip hop, although it was a bit loud for such a small establishment. I ordered the shrimp quesadillas, and despite the bartender warning me that they would take a while because they were frozen(ummmm, ok), 45 mins later… they were delicious! Lucky for them(and me!) the food was better this time around :)

I went to this place for a birthday happy hour and had so much fun. I absolutely love it here. I like that this place is pretty casual. You can dress up and go there before you head out, or you can come to this place straight after work. Its a nice chill low key spot on U street. The music is what makes me live it most. All hip hop before hip hop music when ratchet(which I don’t hate either lol). From old school hip-hop to classic it, 2 hip-hop that was popular in the late 90’s early 2000s. The food was okay, no frills but no complaints. The drinks were decently strong and the happy hour deals were great. Everyone was cool. Even though not everyone was attending the«birthday happy hour» we were all socializing and just having a good time.

Hip hop fans only… the djs are well-versed in the birth of hip hop. You willnnever be disappointed in the song line up. Two floors, two bars, reasonable pricing. Also… the best sweet potato fries EVAR.

Hefty drinks, laid back atmosphere, great mix of old school hip hop, and ample seating throughout(upstairs)… It’s a cool little nook hidden in the heart of the city and a DC staple that has been around for some time. Lounge of Three is a fitting spot for those that love a chill vibe and a(somewhat) older crowd. Note that this is not a place to be seen or dance the night away, but rather a perfect choice to hang out with buddies, grab a few drinks and enjoy a legit DJ.

Lounge of Three is a cool little spot right on U Street. The place is not very big even though it is two levels. The area is very narrow especially downstairs with the bar area taking up the majority of the space. The upstairs provides a little more room for moving about and possibly dancing. The happy hour deal are top notch, the rum punch was strong and cheap and the rail drinks are also inexpensive even the higher end drinks are reasonably priced especially for the area. Music is probably the best thing going for Lounge of Three, great mix of old school hip hop and R and B, while I was there they played very few modern songs which is okay with me as modern music sucks. Going here was like a going back to my childhood and the dances of blacked out house parties. All in all a cool place to hit up happy hour and enjoy some tunes before moving on to greener pastures on U Street.

Ghetto Dive(Positive Connotation) I think Ive found my two favorite kinds of places mixed into one. Lo3 Its ghetto, like the wing place in my old ‘hood but its also divey like the hipster joints in Provy, RI. Its all that and a bag of chips without the«Sharkeisha» attitude.(Am I not PC for saying what everybody is thinking???) lol Cmon I know yall been to the wing place in your hood and gotten a lil Sharkeisha attitude with your wings and alize. ‘ Anyway back to this joint. So its a small bar with an upper and lower level. The drink specials were . 4 dollar rails, I believe and bites that were under 5. I’ll be back. I was impressed with the dela décor ooo we we cherie amour, bring your amour here for a cozy intimate conversation on the upper level. Ill be back!

How do you review something when you barely remember that you were there? Bwahhahaha! Like this! Alright, this place is located on the U Street Corridor, accessible to metro and what not. Small row home conversion, no cover upon entry(score)! Upstairs, strobe lights, and pretty decent music. Extremely small floor for dancing, gets crowded easily. It was fair to middling in this place for me. I need room! Personal space indeed. Three feet three feet!!!

After doing my Unilocal research for a great place to party at my ripe age, I thought this place would be great! I attempted to make this place the choice to celebrate my most recent birthday! However, this was a no go! This place had a «Black Cheers» kind of feel! People looked at us like, who the hell are you! LOL! The place is very small and very dark! There was hardly no dance floor upstairs as it was filled with people sitting on couches! Not a person in the place was dancing! This place was a complete dud! I had high hopes of this place! Definitely let down!

I like the music here, the staff is nice. The music is R&B, hip-hop and old school. The last time we were there, they walked around giving out free shots. Um, yea! :) The wings there are ok. If anything, I like this place for the music, cool low-key vibe.
