This is a pizza place, so I never would’ve thought that they would sell items other than pizza affiliated items. My co-worker told me she gets an excellent egg white omelet from here, so I tagged along for a little breakfast of my own. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on croissant and a side of homemade baked potatoes. The potatoes are cut up like home fries but they call them baked potatoes… Potato… PoTAto. Call them what you want, they were really tasty! Seasoned perfectly with red onions and peppers and the skin on! The sandwich was pretty good also, but I just didn’t particularly care for the sausage. Next time I’ll get the bacon or turkey sausage. From what I could tell, they carry a variety of items: funnel cakes,(stop right there, let’s take a moment to reflect on how wonderfully delicious and tantalizing fresh funnel cakes taste. I can now resume) fresh fruit cups, wraps, breakfast foods, different beverages and of course pizza. My co-worker also told me that they do a really good chicken breakfast pizza with eggs in the morning. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. My co-worker didn’t want the bread that comes with her breakfast platter, so the cashier offered her the homemade baked potatoes to compensate her. She didn’t have too, but she did and it was greatly appreciated. Everything is made to order and comes out pretty quickly. I’m a fan of this place, for the customer service alone, but I did enjoy my food. I’m a funnel cake snob, so I’m not sure if I’ll actually partake in these, but you never know! This place is a great option for me!

I mostly come here in the morning for breakfast and besides the staff being very nice and super accomodating, the breakfast is great! I have had the potatoes, eggs, bacon(slightly greasy) toast, and the pancakes. Hearty helpings that can be broken down for two people… especially the potatoes. I am calling in my order now! :-)

The pizza is okay, but the buffalo wings and the breakfast menu keep me coming back.

In a region with few options for good NY-style pizza, the slices I got from Mamma Ilardo’s were a pleasant surprise. Cheese slices that were nice and thin, plentiful cheese with good flavor(and not too greasy) and just the right amount of tasty sauce. Most of the slice options had either chicken(a topping I feel should never appear on a slice) or pepperoni. There might have been a pie with sausage but sadly there was only one pepper-laden veggie option in the NY-style. I didn’t look at the deep dish pies, there might have been others, but what I really wanted was a nice mushroom slice and none to be found. If you find yourself wandering L’enfant plaza at lunch time give Mamma’s a try — not perfect but you won’t be disappointed.

The experience: This is the second time I’ve been to this pizza place. This time I ordered a white spinach pizza with mushrooms. It looked quite delicious, but in the end, it was unsatisfying for the price that I paid. However, the staff is super friendly! No doubt about that. The rating: I’ve had much better pizza, even delivered pizza. It wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t memorable. I’ll give it a third time around. There’s not many options in this area, anyways.

Eh, the pizza looks a lot better than it tastes… which is somewhat disappointing. If I’m craving pizza, I’ll get it, but there are other lunch options at L’Enfant I’d go to first(and there are a ton of food trucks at 7th and Maryland… only a couple blocks away!).

I tried the Chicago Slice, which was nothing like what it’s name implies other than it was thick and doughy. More like a round Sicilian pizza as the cheese was over the sauce, not the other way around. They put it in the oven to warm it up, but it was lukewarm at best. The cheese was still congealed, not melted at all. Frankly, it all looked and tasted one step up from frozen pizza for $ 3.49/slice plus tax.

And the restaurants keep rolling in. L’enfant once again has a pizzaria. I’m overcome with joy. I’ve come here for breakfast twice now and there was virtually no line. I’m an early riser. The first time I tried the breakfast calzone. Eggs, bacon and cheese baked in dough and then toasted to order. Delicious. The next time I tried the breakfast wrap. Eggs, bacon, cheese and potatos grilled and stuffed in an aluminum wrapper to keep it warm. It was a good choice and I wolfed it down with no mercy. The people are pretty friendly and display good customer service. I’ll be back to try the pizza and then update this review.
