My first time trying out the food at this place was actually when I used them for catering. I worked with Fadel and he was really easy to work with. For the meeting, I ordered the Waldorf salad, Foresta salad, roast beef tartine, prosciutto and ricotta, shrimp salad and avocado tartine, baked salmon tartine, caprese and roasted veggies. The tartines are typically served open faced but I asked Fadel to close them up. Also, I got chips. The first thing to go was the shrimp avocado tartines, next was the salmon tartines, and the next was the prosciutto. My personal favorite was the caprese. People weren’t big fans of the roasted veggie but that has nothing to do with MASO and everything to do with the fact that these people are not veggie fans(not a shock)! After the great response from the meeting attendees and staff, I decided to try them at lunch today. I got there at 1:50 p.m. so it was just one person ordering a salad and two people ordering smoothies. I decided to get the shrimp salad sandwich which is on a toasted brioche bun. It was really good. I’m not a huge fan of celery and while most shrimp salads have celery in it, I couldn’t really taste it in this one. The person preparing my meal did a great job – he didn’t just slap the ingredients hastily, he did it with care. This place has great food and great service. I’ll keep this place on my short list of places whenever I’m looking for a place for lunch. **I got $ 3.00 off my meal for checking in on Unilocal!#WINNING

Tasty salad with a great price! I walked in and was able to order right away without any wait. The staff was friendly and the salmon caesar salad was delicious! Romaine and Kale with asparagus, potatoes, and tomatoes. All for 8.95. Great deal for a nice healthy meal.

The décor is really nice and everything seems fresh and clean. Unfortunately, my salad wasn’t very inspiring. I was looking to try something other than go-to spots Chop’t and Sweetgreen, but was disappointed — the salad simply didn’t live up, and was quite expensive to boot. I think I have been spoiled by those two places because they toss and chop the salad so it’s mixed really well and the flavors are blended nicely. At Maso they just pile everything in and put the lid on. Made for an uneven eating experience. The chicken was also somewhat bland, and the bread they include was tiny and blah. I do think I will return to try a smoothie, though!

My first time here, and I got the Salmon Caesar Salad. I loved it! It was tasty, fresh, and certainly inexpensive compared to other salad spots. I really liked the vibes of this place, I read some of their magazines while I ate. Definitely a spot I will come back to for lunch again.

That proscuitto sandwich. My God in heaven. The ricotta, tomato and arugula are the perfect blend of flavors with a crunchy ciabatta as the cherry on top. Salmon tartine, fresh, hearty salads, and smoothies round out the goodness. This place restores what is right in this world.

Warm, friendly staff. Salads are solid, but Chop’t and Sweetgreen offer more exciting options. The grilled chicken in the salad is a bit dry.

I finally came to MASO… And I really liked it. Their concept is simple. They’re a healthy lunch in downtown DC. They have salads, sandwiches, a soup special, and juices. I ordered their Forrest salad and pumpkin soup. Both were so delicious. The pumpkin soup has depth in flavor, and the notes of ginger and cinnamon really made the soup good. I like MASO more than Chop’t and Sweetgreen. Also, their Unilocal deals are fantastic! I forgot my phone when I visited, but I will definitely check in the next time!

Went today for lunch, second time I’ve been and both times I’ve gotten the same thing, the prosciutto and ricotta sandwich. It is deliiiiish! It comes with marinated tomatoes(or so) but I don’t love tomatoes like that so today I asked them to replace those with normal, fresh tomatoes and they did, and the sandwich was amazing! It’s a very nice size, and they don’t skimp on the ingredients, all of which taste fresh and delicious. The prosciutto is honestly sooo goooood. I haven’t tried anything else yet but perhaps I will give one of those tartines a try next! Very nice aesthetic, clean and friendly staff. Nice place!

Came here for lunch with my boyfriend. I work across the street and always take their smoothie samples(which are delicious), so I thought it was about time to pay them a visit! We had the salmon and roast beef tartines. Both were really good, but we both definitely preferred the roast beef. The salmon has a very strong flavor – it’s delicous, but can get a bit overwhelming. Service was quick and friendly. It worked out to ~$ 9.50 each with tax. Portions are pretty generous, I was very full after finish ½ of each tartine. I do wish there was an option to heat them up, if desired, but they were good cold too. The place is also EMPTY during lunch on the weekdays, which is a shame – hope business picks up for them!

I stopped by for a quick salad and was pleased to find something out of the ordinary yummy in what i thought would be a run of the mill salad bar. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable as well. Next time I’m in DC this place is on my list!

Holy crap love this place. Such good juju. It’s extremely small. There are exactly 4 tables outside and if you hit it during the lunch rush you may end up waiting a bit. But everything on the menu is delicious. I tried the smoothies and love them. They are not you’re boring banana or blueberry nonsense but something much more interesting. They also do a mean gazpacho. Today I ordered the salmon tartine and was blown away. Go here and try it out.

Just came in here during my lunch break after a casual Washington, DC heat wave and ordered a roast beef tartine. What appeared to be an open faced sandwhich at first turn out to be the best meal I’ve had for lunch! The roast beef, radishes, caramelized onions and crunchy bread made for a very tasty and filling meal. Honestly this place has a very chill and down to earth feel. It looks extremely clean and everything on the menu looks fresh!

Came here for the first time today– I have been looking for a smoothie place nearby that is more than a Jamba Juice. Not only does this place have the fast food approach like our typical sweet green or chopt it also offers pretty decent sandwiches that aren’t overly bready or feel like heart attacks unlike the other choices around. Also décor is cool and definitely a part of the few new places opening that are trying to push as much of this area as possible into a more aesthetically pleasing place which I highly enjoy.

Sleek and clean, MASO is trying to play the classy version of a Chop’t or SweetGreen. But beyond the look and ambiance, what they’re really banking on is people who don’t want to wait in the lines at the chains, then they’ll settle for a salad at MASO. And it worked, I recently got a salad there. Can’t remember what I got, but I know there wasn’t anything special. To be fair, I wouldn’t say that the salads at Chop’t or SweetGreen are amazing either. Without the chopping and mixing that the other spots do for you, the salad(while layered) just can’t provide the same, fully mixed bite. There are a few other items on the menu that may be worth trying, and when I don’t feel like waiting in line at other places, I’m sure I’ll give them a try.

I have tried this place twice — underwhelmed at best. I decided to give it a second shot after I knew it had been open a few months and the line outside of Chopt and SweetGreen was unreasonably long. I ordered the same salad twice(the one with shrimp_and the ingredients varied each time, despite it being the same salad. Unfortunately, I doubt this place will last. I miss Natures Table :(

Just finished eating a Caprese Sandwich which was very basic… I was pretty surprised at the menu. Everything seemed, blah… The staff on the other hand, were very friendly and polite. If I go back, it will be because of the service… not the food. sorry!

Tasty food that’s also fresh and healthy! I stumbled upon MASO while walking around Dupont Circle during lunch time and was intrigued by the name. What is this place and why had I never heard of it? Turns out it is a brand new concept and it had just opened! I was enticed by the yummy smoothie samples they were handing out, and was curious to learn more so I ventured inside. Formerly Nature’s Table, owners Fadel Escheik and Giuseppe Della Torre decided to revamp this location and create a new concept focusing on food that not only tastes delicious, but is also healthy for you. I was able to have a nice conversation with this duo and they were both very passionate and excited about their new creation. The interior is clean, simple, minimalist, and brightly lit. Tan and white seem to be the theme colors, along with their orange logo. As you walk inside, the first thing that you see is the smoothie bar and salad area. My favorite section is the seating area to the left featuring a long wooden table and chalkboard with cheerful artwork on the wall. The menu features a variety of salads, gazpacho, sandwiches, tartines(European style open sandwiches), and smoothies. Since I usually prefer to eat my sandwiches open-faced anyway, I decided to give theirs a try and got the Baked Salmon Tartine. It was delicious! I loved the different textures of my sandwich — the crispy fennel slices contrasted nicely with the tender chunks of salmon and creamy lemon dressing. It didn’t seem like a big portion but I actually felt quite satisfied afterwards. The smoothies that I sampled — pineapple basil, banana & figs, and yellow lemon — were all pretty tasty but a bit icier than the usual smoothies that I’m accustomed to. I also tasted the gazpacho, which was full of flavor. MASO is a welcome addition to the Dupont Circle dining scene offering tasty and healthy options — look out, Sweetgreen and Protein Bar!
