Got takeout when they had been open for a couple of weeks. Very nice. Friendly staff, good food, fresh injera. I have told so many people to come here. Only request, please start making meat samosas! East African here missing home! This is as close to authentic as it comes. Thumbs up.

This is a hidden gem right in the Petworth Neighborhood for delicious Ethiopian food, affordable drinks(5.00 happy hour or 3 for 10 beer 4 – 8 everyday). Family owned by a great group of people. I am so glad to have Mignot in the neighborhood.

I live right across the street but didn’t make it here until a couple of weeks ago. Don’t know much about Ethiopian food since I’ve only had it twice before, but it was delicious. I forget the name of my entre but it was beef tartare and it was just so good. That bread that the food comes on is great too. My mom’s coming to visit this week for a night and I’m going to bring her here instead of the usual downtown/14th street restaurants I take her to. Try it out if you are in the area!

I recently discovered this new Ethiopian Restaurant in the heart of Georgia Ave. The restaurant sign is not visible but the place has been there little longer than I originally thought. This restaurant is like is a hidden treasure. The food is absolutely testy and well spiced. On my first visit I had Kitfo and Lamb Tibes and that was really delicious. The second time I went with two of my friends and this time we ordered, of course Kitfo and the veggie combination. My friends also agreed with my assessment of the place as well. Since then, they have went back a couple of time. It’s a family run business. Inside the Restaurant, the room is a fairly average size with few traditional Ethiopian arts on the wall as well as contemporary arts. As you walk in, at the far end of the room the bar is fully stocked. The delicious food and the friendly atmosphere will capture your senses when you come in the door. Don’t just take my word for it, when you are in the area witness it for yourself.

Amazing ambience, amazing food! I came in by chance, and was greeted by the friendly staff at Mignot. I walked in right during their opening night celebration, which meant they had a limited menu. However, they were super nice and made something not in the menu specially for me. They really didn’t have to as the place was packed with customers. In any case, if you are in the Brightwood, Georgia avenue area, stop by Mignot, you won’t regret it. By the way, they also sell pastries, yummy!

The food here is so fresh it’s like eating in someone’s kitchen. It is our favorite neighborhood Ethiopian restaurant! Love the vegetarian platter

Great coffee, and the Ethiopian food is fantastic — best I’ve had in DC or Silver Spring. Amazing.

A lovely new spot in Petworth! A diverse menu with European and Ethiopian dishes as well as milkshakes, ice cream, cookies, and delicious Ethiopian coffee. The owners are lovely! I’ll definitely return.
