I hired Milestone Relocation Solutions for a move from DC to Baltimore. Their service was very poor and as a result of the poor service, the quote provided was completely inaccurate. Specifically, I ended up paying double the original quote. The entire move was very stressful, which was the entire point of hiring a moving team to help me. Although my point of contact at the company, Jim Prouty, assured me that I would be given a refund and apologized for the performance of the movers, their claims department has been completely unable to address any of my concerns, respond to my emails and phone-​calls. As a result I have resorted to posting this negative review and next am recording the incident with the Better Business Bureau. I don’t expect the company to ever pay me back, but I would like others to learn from my poor experiences.
In summary – I highly recommend finding a different company that is able to stick to it’s quote and provide service as promised. Milestone Relocations is not a safe bet for your move.

I’ve moved around the DMV area more than 5 times, and Milestone Relocation was by far the easiest, quickest, most efficient move to date. The movers were friendly, speedy — and nothing was harmed during the move. Great experience. Would highly recommend!

The two gentlemen scheduled to move my belongings were ready way ahead of schedule and showed up prepared to work! They did a great job and took great care with my things. The only (minor) issue is, they didn’t bring all of my boxes up that belong in my room. All in all they did a great job and were professional and courteous.

My move was a last day move and they were able to set everything up in no time. My booking agent was very professional and made the whole process smooth and simple. Movers arrived on time and worked hard until the last minute. Definitely recommend not only because the pricing was the best of all the companies I called but because they actually care about their customer.

On July 25 2015 I was schedule to move. I use the services of Milestone Relocation Solutions. Overall, I give them 2 stars out of five. The reason for this I had minor damage: Bookcase leg broke off, four plates were damage, the new address apartment hallway walls were ‘scuff up’ with marks and when they bought in my heavy TV… they place it unbalance on TV stand then 2 minutes later… it fell. Thank goodness the floor was carpet & padded – it didn’t break… but, what if a little child had walk in front of it…90% chance crush/​seriously injured. One of the mover (hispanic) didn’t speak english to well… I ask several time not to drop the boxes on floor. I wonder did they grab him from a home depot parking area.
What was broken & damage was not worth filing a claim instead I decided to do this review. Would I recommend this Co. to my friends and family members. No I would not.
I plan to move back to my old address (aft renovation is completed) would I use this service… No Way!

Worst movers ever!!! Do not use them if you actually need to move!!! A week after we initially booked our move, they called and told me that they had to reschedule and only after a long talk did I get a time the following day in the evening (a pretty inconvenient time). Now on Friday, the day of my move, only hours before they were supposed to be here, they call to tell me they cannot move me until Sunday because another move is taking too long. And they do not even offer a discount for such a big inconvenience. We are lucky we did not have to be out of our current place like most new home buyers because then we would really be screwed. Do not ever use this company!

My experience with this company made my wife cry. We were both students in our Master’s program with a 9 month old daughter so money was tight. My wife called them because I was busy with schoolwork and they quoted her 109.99 which is absolute robbery to move 3 bedsets, a sectional, 3 flat screen tvs and 8 bins. The new place was about 20 miles away. They moved slow and made small talk the whole time, the inside of the truck was dirty, the stuff was poorly packed, there was no equipment and that is not the worst part.
When they arrived to our new apartment, their truck wouldn’t fit into the apartments garage so they had to walk roughly 30 yards to the elevator to move our things. They took so long that I ended hopping into the truck to hurry the move along which i did for at least 3 hours. They started the move at 8:24am and everything wasn’t finished until 1:40pm. I hugged my teary-​eyed wife when they told us that our bill was 659.94. All we had was 700 dollars to last us until I got paid again in 2 weeks. We told them that I had helped them, they hand-​walked a lot of stuff and used the pallete provided by the apartment complex because they did not have their own, and if they could account for the issue with the height of the truck to lower the already high price and the answer was no. The driver said «we have to account for where we have been all this time». He made no phone calls or nothing. Just took the cash, hopped in his truck with his other mover and left.
I used to work for a moving company as a teenager and I remember having to move a HUGE house and the rate was 75 dollars an hour, we came with moving equipment, and the final amount was less than this. I almost refused and had them call the police to hash this out in court but didn’t. Maybe this is how movers work but that’s not how my company was. If you choose to use these guys, make sure there’s enough money for an international flight that you can spare.

I just booked a move with milestone and not 10 minutes after the quote they changed the rate in the confirmation email — DO NOT TRUST THEM!

I used Milestone Relocation for a small move — the kind of move other services don’t think is worth their time. I was moving from one apartment to another within the same building. A lot of other movers wouldn’t even show up for less than 4 hours, but Milestone did it for 2. All in all, it was less than $ 300 with tip.
Devante (apologies if I’ve misspelled) and Eric were very communicative before the move. They showed up on time, moved everything professionally and even assembled a new bookshelf for me because there was time left. They got everything done in less than two hours, which is sort of remarkable. They said that they don’t drag out the moves to make the customers pay more because they’d rather the repeat business than to make a few extra bucks. They were extremely courteous, polite and helpful. They were very grateful for the tip, too, and seemed to be stand-​up guys.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Milestone for their flexibility, their affordability and the general positive disposition of their staff.

It took them 6 hours to move a 500 sq ft. Studio Appartment and they told us we had to pay $ 900 and sign the contract or they wouldn’t leave.
My friend was quoted 3 hours including drive time and the rate was for 3 movers. Only 2 guys showed up. They intentionally drug out the unloading. One guy was on the phone most of the time.
They snapped the leg off of the coffee table and said it was like that before the move. They also broke a lamp.
They forgot a 3 drawer chest in the bathroom and other items that we had to move ourselves the next day.
They moved the wardrobe box upside down and didn’t even know the box wasn’t made to go that way. (The point of that box, which is a commonly used in moving, is to keep the clothes hung up.)
Boxes labeled «fragile do not stack» had other boxes stacked on top of them. One of the boxes stacked on top of a fragile box had «heavy» written on it.
The boxes in the moving truck did look like they were packed in a very orderly fashion.
If you feel like baby sitting and walking with the movers to make sure they are actually working this would be the company to hire.

Used Milestone for a move within Arlington, VA. I will definitely be calling them back! They were quick to provide a quote, offered a competitive price, arrived on-​time, sincerely considerate of the time frame I received my quote for and worked hard to remain within it. Overall, wrapped and carried my belongings in good condition and a pleasant attitude. Highly recommend to others in the area!

My original estimated arrival time was between 2 – 4. Dallas and his co-​worker did not show up until 6. When they did arrive, they were exhausted and complaining about their previous customer in North Carolina.
Once we arrived at my destination, I immediately saw that my nice lamp was snapped in half. They just told me I could fix it. When we finally had about 10 boxes left to go, in which I should mention I was helping to carry boxes upstairs, Dallas told me my total would be $ 460. I was completely taken aback as just a few days prior; I spoke on the phone with a move coordinator, Edison Andrade (
) who told me if I paid with cash, my total would be $ 260. Upon hearing this, both men went ballistic. They started yelling, cursing and saying how this just f*cking happened in North Carolina. Dallas then spoke with his supervisor to which he said «if she doesn’t pay, just call the cops on her». At this point, my new roommates were coming home and they felt afraid for me.
Dallas tried to barter with me– $ 350 and even had the audacity to ask me to borrow money from my roommates, who I hardly knew. Obviously I was beyond irritated as
1) They arrived 2 hours late.
2) I should not have been carrying any boxes.
3) My lamp and bookshelf have damage.
4) They were the rudest people I have EVER encountered.
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.

These guys were professional, efficient, timely, and courteous. I’ve got nothing to say but good things about the service of this company. They moved 1000 sq. ft. in 3 hours with several items disassembled and reassembled with not so much as a scratch on anything.

Most people I know cringed when I mentioned that I’d be moving for the second time in two years. But largely thanks to Milestone, my move was stress-​free. I sympathize with everyone who posts nightmare stories about their movers. That was definitely not the case with me.
My movers were scheduled to arrive between 8 and 9 a.m. They called at 7:30, told me that they’d arrive around 8, and then arrived 10 minutes early! They worked hard, never took a break, were polite, and had the whole move completed in an impressively short about of time.
This was my second time using Milestone, and I would DEFINITELY use them again.

We have used this moving service twice… but never again.
The first time we used them (2010), they did not send a large enough truck to accommodate all of our items, so we were left transporting items in our SUVs. The movers stopped for lunch on the way to the new house and charged us for their time. They took over 9 hours, when 7 was estimated. They also barely spoke English, so luckily my color coded labels came in handy.
The most recent time we used them (2013), I provided them with a detailed spreadsheet of every piece of furniture in our house, so the truck would be large enough. Our move also needed a stop to pick-​up items at a storage unit — this was also accounted for in the spreadsheet. The truck they sent again was too small, so we had to make several return trips in our SUVs.
The movers were also SO incredibly slow that I started to help them move items out of the truck — I got tired of seeing them carry 1 lamp in the house at a time or 1 light storage bin at a time.
Although we were quoted at 5 hours, by the time we’d reached 7 hours, my husband and I didn’t care to go over our budgeted amount any further. As such, we dismissed the movers and will have to transport about 20 boxes from storage ourselves. In the meantime, though, we have been living without items that we’d planned on having help to move into the new house.
We will never use them again as, after 2 chances, they have proven to be unreliable & inefficient.

Scheduled a move for last Saturday. 2 movers, 2.5 hours. Not a huge move (500 sq ft apt on first floor) and just 10 minutes away from first location.
Richard from Milestone was courteous and helpful when we were doing the initial booking BUT… he called last week, just days before my Saturday move, to say they need to reschedule because they double booked! He said they could do it 6 hours later but I don’t want to be moving and unpacking in the dark! It’s Memorial Day weekend and it’s not easy to find other movers so now I am left to do it myself or try to find time between closing on a new home and packing to call every moving company in the area looking for one that’s available last minute on a busy holiday weekend.
Also, they aren’t exactly local. They schedule moves from Florida and/​or MA as dispatchers so you never work directly with the DC company. FYI they charge an extra 3% for using a credit card.
We ended up going with Swift Movers based in VA. They were wonderful. Friendly, on time, quick, and sweet with my dog who was having a hard time with the move.

Your guys were on time, they worked hard and efficiently. They were friendly and took good care of my property during the move. They made it easy and enjoyable. I’ve used two other moving companies prior to this one and this is by far the best in the metro/​dc/​md area. Prior to using this company the guys before took 6 ½ hours and damaged our things with scuffs. The exact move from our storage unit to our home took milestone movers 3 hours. Almost less than half the time and half the price of the previous company. Richard the sales man was the best. He even helped when we had to change the date and time last minute. I will be referring friends, family, and co-​workers in the future to this company.

I was so skeptical to hire these guys because of the bad reviews on here. But I read great things on other sites, they were the most professional company I spoke with, and their pricing was reasonable, so I decided to book them.
I was moving a 1 bedroom apartment from Washington, DC to Atlanta, GA and needed an overnight move. I had a hard time finding other companies that could do this without charging me an insane amount.
The movers (2 guys) arrived early both at my apartment in DC and to deliver the furniture in Atlanta. That gives them extra points. They worked really hard and got the work done in just a few hours on both ends.
They wrapped all of my furniture in shrink wrap and in blankets, and everything made it in one piece! I did find one broken decorative glass bowl, but that could be my fault for not packing it more carefully.
My only problem with the guys is that they complained quite a bit — «Why cant we use that elevator?» «Why can’t we open the windows and move the stuff out that way?» «This chest is too heavy.» Those kinds of things… but, they got the job done.
I was unsure about tipping… but the total cost of the move was $ 2500 so I gave them each $ 75, a meal from Chick-​Fil-​A and a bottle of water. They seemed pleased.

My pre-​move dealings with Milestone on-​line and by phone were efficient and pleasant. When I had to postpone my move because my apartment was not ready yet, it was not a problem.
But the day of the move was very different. My crew arrived at my storage unit nearly an hour late. They promptly informed me about the surcharge for paying with plastic, which had not been previously mentioned. After we packed the truck, the crew departed a couple of minutes before me. I arrived at my new apartment at least 20 minutes before they did, and they never explained their delay. My estimate was $ 297 for 2.5 hours, but it ended up taking 4 hours (including the 20 minutes when the crew disappeared), so I ended up paying nearly $ 450, even though the move was completed two hours later than expected.

I was quoted $ 200, and got stuck with a $ 1000 bill. The movers took their time and draged moving a one bedroom apartment’s worth of stuff into an al day event. One week later my bedframe fell apart, rendering it impossible to open my blinds. Brett, the «manager» told me to send an email and someone would be in touch within 6 weeks and to wait for someone to contact me to set up a repair. 6 weeks later, no one has reached out to me and I call back. Brett has the audacity to ask me why I waited 6 weeks to call back when he told me to wait 6 weeks! I have called and emailed Brett and other employees at Milestone Relocations over the past 11 months trying to seek a partial refund, but have been treated with nothing but disrespect. I am constantly hung up on and Brett REFUSES to give out upper management’s contact information, or have upper management contact me.
Now there is a new manager… I called and again tried to get a partial refund, and he is just as uncooperative as Brett… he told me that since it has been a year there is absolutely nothing he can do… I reminded him it’s only been that long since their previous manager so unprofessionally refused to deal with the situation. I again asked to speak with the owner, and he refused to pass along my information, and challenged me to take them to court, telling me people try to sue them «all the time» unsuccessfully. When people are constantly suing you, there’s a problem with the way you run business!
