Four of us had dinner there last night, Tuesday 11⁄3 @ 7 pm… We had a reservation, but it wasn’t needed as only 3 of the 20 tables were occupied. Our server, Nely, was sweet and attentive. Three of us had drinks. One beer and two wines. The wine list was a bit limited and I was not blown away by my Avalon Cabernet Sauvignon. All four of our dinners were good: two had crab cakes, one had the salmon and I had the steak, which was good but medium well, instead of medium as was ordered. Not expensive. Fair value. About $ 50 per person, including drinks, tax and tip.

We went here one Saturday evening early(6pm) and were the only ones there so got great service along with the great food(garlic soup with a poached egg, grilled asparagus, salmon on quinoa with a vegetable) and glasses of red wine, followed by decaf coffee and fresh fruit bowl for dessert. It was a perfect hot summer evening supper! The dining room has apparently been refurbished and is quite elegant. The front door is up stairs but there is an accessible entranceway and an elevator to the dining floor level in the old house.

Very limited menu. I ordered the raviolli. The quantity was so small it looked like an appetizer. We went there on a Friday night and were the only patrons in the place. That was our first clue. The food is very mediocre. Nothing to write home about. The place itself is very beautiful. Do yourself a favor. Go in, take pictures, then go to a real restaurant for dinner.

I went to the restaurant at Morrison Clark with my girlfriend for Valentines day. The atmosphere was perfect for Valentines day. It is very small, intimate, and quite. I thought the service was incredible. I really liked our waiter. Since I checked-in with the Unilocal app, we were given a free glass of wine. We had the Valentines day prix fixe menu and everything was great, especially the beef medallions. I highly recommend this place for a nice occasion.

A few weeks ago, I visited the Morrison Clark Hotel for a champagne brunch with my wife. The dining room was decorated in a classic victorian style which made me feel a little underdressed in my sweater and jeans. I’ll be certain to wear my powdered wig next time. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my wife had the steak, home fries and eggs. My meal was delicious and just the right portion. Her steak was tender and tasty despite being cooked longer than requested. The service was attentive and friendly.

Is there a minus star rating for this restaurant? WOW what a waste of time, we spent $ 100.00 each for the worst food my entire family of 8 have EVER eaten! the lamb was disgusting, the salmon was dry and overcooked(they obviously went to great extents to ruin salmon) and the whole menu is produced from chefs who might have to go back to school to learn how to cook again! don’t waste your time! p. s. the only good thing was our server, Anil.

After having a fun time at a happy hour here, my coworkers and I decided to try this place out for Restaurant Week during lunch. Now, we understood that Morrison Clark is mainly a bed an breakfast establishment, so we were surprised that they would be listed as a place that participated in RW. So we gave it shot, and a bunch of us trooped on over to the Inn. The first thing that we noticed was that we were the only people– and for that matter party there. Since our group was rather large, they were nice enough to put us all in one side room, however perhaps by seating us out of sight we were also out of mind at times too. Maybe they were understaffed, or they were not used to having more than 3 people at one time during lunch. It took a long time for them to come around to get our order, and then a really long time before our first courses came out. Our main courses took an eternity to come out, and were thinking that they forgot about us. Now, a nice professional lunch out might merit a liberal interpretation of ‘an hour lunch’, but this was pushing it a little too far. It was a Thursday, and everyone was in professional dress, so it was kind of implied that we were going to be returning at some point to the office. By the time desert finally came around, most people had to pass because they had to get back. I usually like the service that is laisez-faire, but not the point where the meal drags on and I am actually wanting to go back to office. Knocking off some stars for service. The food was still good though, so I would give it another shot, although when I know I have a good two+ hours.

We finally went to dinner here. It was good, but we did not receive the same stellar service I had in the past. The food was«ok» the Panko crusted fried oysters were about the size of a nickel and were over fried :( My bf was very satisfied with his steak but my tuna special was over-cooked and really not paired all too well with the sides(mashed potatoes and«wilted» spinach(which umm really wasn’t wilted!)). What was upsetting though, was how LONG it took. it was at least 1 hour + before we were served our dinner. People who were seated after us were done with their dinners before we even we served our appetizer! It is a cute, dimly lit romantic place though so we weren’t in a hurry but were starving! The wine selection, also, is a bit bare, we just ordered by the glass since those selections were the most appealing, and worth the price. Dessert was pretty good, the pumpkin crème brule was tasty but a little thin, the cappuccino however, was delicious!

I came here for a breakfast meeting after a friend recommended it to me. It is absolutely adorable and I can’t wait to go back. It really was beautiful – large bay windows, fireplace… it was wonderful. My two colleagues I ate with ordered the biscuits for breakfast and I had the seasonal fruit bowl. The biscuits smelled incredibly good and both ladies said that they were awesome. The fruit bowl was not that great – it is October and the seasonal fruit consisted of mango, pineapple, berries, watermelon and mandarin oranges. Now some of that may be in season, but the mandarin slices were canned. I will go back, but I’m not getting the seasonal fruit bowl again.

The restaurant at Morrison-Clark has been on my radar screen for years but for some reason I hadn’t been there until last weekend for Easter brunch. The Inn itself is in an historic building and appears quaint and boutique-ey. The restaurant seems almost like an after-thought. We waited 20 minutes beyond our reservation time and were then finally seated. The Easter brunch menu was limited(I knew that ahead of time) but still had some nice options. Service was abysmal. Not only was it slow, but the waiters were clueless and clearly haven’t mastered the English language, or even come close. Now it’s probably not entirely their fault — they appeared to be way understaffed and definitely under-trained. One waiter’s body odor was so strong it was shocking. The terse host shuffling around the dining room bordered on rude. The cuisine, once it was served, was mediocre at best. Although the wait ranged from 30 – 45 minutes between the three courses, the food seemed like it had been sitting around in the kitchen rather than made to order. After all this, the bill came with a 20% tip included(I guess our 2 year-old toddler pushed our party to 6, thereby qualifying them for the pre-determined gratuity). Don’t know what other meals are like at M-C, but I don’t think I’ll be going back to find out.

Went to Restaurant Week with my coworkers here for lunch. The food is good. I got Polenta & Eggplant with balsamic vinegar and tomatoes, basil, mozz. It definitely had a nice taste to it and was cooked well. The service, on the other hand, was a different story. We waited about an hour for our food! Just to get the appetizers! Which were all salads &1 soup. My coworkers had meetings to get back to, so they had to leave before the main course. Like I said, the food is good. But its not AMAZING. Not enough to make up for really slow inattentive service, that I might ignore at another place, but this place is expensive!

Restaurant Week! The food was spectacular. I got the crab cake sandwich which was awesome, and my friend got the salmon. It’s southern style dishes in a very old historic type place. The restaurant is small so make reservations. It has about 20 tables total that I could see. It is really expensive and I would have never gone here without it being restaurant week. But the food was really really good.

We had brunch here today with friends. I advise that you completely and totally starve yourself for a week before going here since they serve you a tremendous amount of incredible food and it’s tough to tackle it all in the 2 hours we were there. So here’s the skinny… Champagne or mimosas First course of organic yogurt with fresh fruit and almonds Second course of eggs and waffles with«sticky love bacon»(I have no idea either, but it was sticky and I loved it) Third course of lemon chess pie Service was excellent. The chef actually came out at the beginning and gave us our Carolina donuts. None of us had ever had them. They are unmistakably NOT low-fat or low-cal, and they are beautiful in their sugary simplicity. We also had a basket of breads that are unmatched anywhere I’ve been before. They beat the stuffing out of the bread basket at Sweetwater hands down. So in this basket were tiny sweet potato biscuits, miniture pumpkin spice muffins, and truly southern biscuit biscuits. The price is definitely not cheap but it would be a great place to meet friends you haven’t seen in ages and spend hours catching up in a true gem of dining in an historical setting.
