Poor quality Indian food and the restaurant itself looks pretty questionable in terms of cleanliness. Chicken in the tikka masala was very dry, spinach had no flavor and frozen corn kernels in it, and naan was the worst of all… very rubbery, worst I’ve ever had. I heard they changed ownership recently.

This place is what it is — cheap, fast Indian food. It was a great deal at $ 8 for chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, rice, AND naan. However, the tikka masala was watery, the chicken dry, the saag paneer lacking in flavor. The naan was delicious though and the staff was very nice.

I had a chicken tika naan sandwich platter and mango lassi. The mango lassi was a big disappointment. I recall having one here before that was good but this time it was very thin and was more like mango milk. The naan and sauces were good. Overall the sandwich fine but not remarkable. It came with very spicy homemade potato chips that some may like but are too salty and spicy for me. If I go back, I’ll try a platter vs. a sandwich, as that food looked better than the sandwich tastes. If I want a sandwich, I’d definitely go to Roti instead.

Decent Indian food– I went on a Saturday so there weren’t that many people and literally no wait. I’ve been craving Indian food so this was exactly what I was looking for. I asked for the Chicken Tikka Masala(«butter chicken») as part of the lunch special. The naan was a little bit more thick than what I’m used to but I definitely got what I wanted. Overall, good and would go again.

Bought a groupon deal to try this place. It’s close to work and I love indian food; however, this is NOT good indian. They even try to pass off watered down french dressing as an Indian food sauce. Amazing what these places try to get away with. I guess most of the bus loads only come once. Next time I’ll go to the one in the post office pavilion or a food truck.

Really bad. The naan is good but everything else SUCKS. This ain’t Indian nor Pakistani. It’s just bland food made to fool people into thinking they are eating Indian. Flavor less. Give a miss.

I’ve only had vegetarian food here but its one of my go too’s when I’m at the food quart. They recently changed the chickpea recipe and it is really good. The lintils also have a really good flavor. I’m not use to them mashed like that but go great with naan or rice.

Good food, not too pricey. Yes, it is located in a food court, but don’t let that fool you, this is good eats!

I was really disappointed by my experience. The flavor of the food itself was okay, but problems with not having certain items, delays, and cold servings all combined for an unfortunate overall impression of a single star. So they were out of masala chips, which is one of the items that everyone said you had to get. Strike one. Then they were also out of dosa, another item that everyone said you had to get. Strike two. Then they were still cooking chicken tandoori, so it was going to be 5 – 10 minutes. Now keep in mind that this was at 1 pm. Yes, they might have had a lunch rush, but that was over and they should have replenished. Strike three. So I got plates of chicken tikka and vegetable biryani, with cheese paneer as one of the sides. For two plates, the paneer was hot, but for the third one, it was chilled. Thinking back, I realized that they had put a new container of paneer out between filling my group’s plates, so one of us got a new container that wasn’t hot(what?!?). Plus, the cheese was the size of those hot chocolate marshmallows, not dice sized like I usually get at a restaurant. Strike four! Well, other than the cold paneer and the tiny cheese cubes, the food did taste okay. I guess I shouldn’t have expected more from this curry takeaway joint. But other reviews sure had my hopes up.

This is one of my go-to lunch spots, probably the best one is the Eat and National Place food court. I like the tandoori chicken sandwich(it’s a wrap) and the mango sauce is good, as is the green one, whatever it is. The buffet Indian stuff is always tasty too, though the biryani sometimes takes awhile. And they always get my drink mixed up, the guy will try to give me four different things before I get the right one. But that kind of adds to the ambiance.

Curry chicken, chick peas and spinach was really flavorful. I just wish it was spicy. Naan was good but they didn’t put any butter or oil on it so it was kinda dry.

Chicken tikka masala was very good, the flavor was better than that of most tikka masala dishes elsewhere. Food in general was not spicy enough though. Great considering it’s in a food court!

Chicken tikka was over-cooked and bland/flavorless. Naan was good. Maybe the other items on the food-bar are better??? Also, no sauce(rita or mint sauce) came with my tikka. The salad was ok(at least they used romaine lettuce, and not iceburg). For almost $ 9(no drink or sides), I was not very impressed. I will most likely not be back…

This is the only Indian restaurant I will go to. It’s affordable, filling, and by far the best butter chicken in the city. I go here for lunch when I’m at work and the meal fills me up! Their Naan is to die for. It’s sooooo good! They are very nice and the owner always is very nice and remembers my name. The food comes out very fast and easy. The price isn’t bad for lunch it comes with one main dish and two sides plus the Naan. Highly recommend the food!

Hello, I went here for lunch around October 2010 and ordered a platter that consisted of rice, chickpea and spinach. In my opinion the food was not good. It was bland without the right level of spice. There are other Indian restaurants in the area with great food. I went here once and will not go again. The prices are reasonable and some people do like their food; however, not I.

Decent indian food for a food court. Cheap and quick. Tandoori chicken is good and salty. The rice is buttery and the naan is hot and fresh. Certainly not as good as Spices Express on Vermont Ave.

Whenever somebody asks me what my favorite food is, I always say Indian even though I know it’s only because of the bread. If I could do it without feeling like a complete tool, I would go to an Indian restaurant and order nothing but a mango lassi and a mixed bread basket and eat the whole thing all by myself. I read some reviews of the naan here being old, stale and reheated. I could definitely see this being the case. I’ve stopped by this food court between lunch and dinner before and I saw just one guy behind the counter. Today I must have hit it just right; before the busy lunch rush because there were four guys behind the counter and one guy was doing nothing but continuously making fresh bread. It was warm and pillowy and steam escaped out of the trapped air pockets when I broke it open. It was flat and crispy on the bottom with some nice char marks on the top. As for the rest of the meal… it’s mostly just something to dip the bread in. The butter chicken was good. It actually tasted like a chopped up tandoori chicken unlike most food court Indian dishes I’ve had that were all thigh meat. The sauce was a little sweeter than I’m used to, but it was thick and not overly oily. The basmati was light and fluffy. The chickpeas were mostly flavorless and seemed to be cooked in a sauce that was made out of nothing more than seasoned bean juice. The potatoes and cauliflower were OK, although a little on the mushy side and mostly potatoes. I don’t know about you, but I get so carbed-out eating Indian food; I usually come away feeling like I just ate a basket ball and today was no exception. They actually have a chicken tikka sandwich served on naan that I’m definitely looking forward to getting sometime. I almost ordered it today, but I wasn’t sure what to expect. Now that I’ve had their naan, I think it would be great as a sandwich. I would recommend this place as long as you go when you know the food is going to be fresh.

Their veg biryani was not really that good and their raita was old. The vegetables themselves didn’t look fresh(supported by the observation that they had exactly the same menu for the three consecutive days that I visited this food court). (I’d much rather get the fresh naan from Grill Kobab).

I freaking love this place, and probably like this location a bit more than the Farragut one. Why? Because it’s in a food court with damn near everything, and you an always mix and match cuisine. Well, that, and you can go next door to the pizza place and grab a beer to go with your cheap Indian food. Oh yes, and it’s not crap beer either, nor is it overpriced, and it comes in a paper soda cup, so nobody on the street knows you’re an alcoholic. But enough about booze, why do I like Naan and Beyond itself? Because while it’s not the best Indian you’ll ever have, it’s not bad, and well worth the price. You can easily feed two people here on about 10 bucks, and you’ll feel better for it than doing that with fast food. All of the meat dishes I’ve had(most of them) are pretty good, especially the kebab sandwiches — think something like you’d get at a Middle Eastern place, but replace the lettuce with cabbage and the pita with naan. The curries aren’t as spicy as I’d like, but again, they’re not bad at all. And they have plenty of vegetarian options as well, especially a pretty good channa masala(chickpea curry). We like to go in as two people and get a meat sandwich and a veggie platter, and just share, because that’s a perfect meal. The only reason I don’t eat her more often is that I don’t work downtown.

I was really looking forward to eating here one day because I am a huge fan of soft, fluffy, warm bread! I forgot my lunch one day, so I headed over to the National Place food court and was eager to sink my teeth into some naan. I ordered the Tandoori Chicken Tikka, which comes with cabbage, tomato, and mayo(the latter of which I opted out). I also asked for my mango sauce on the side, but they forgot that altogether. Oops. The chicken was moist and fresh, and the bread was soft, but overall, the sandwich was a bit boring. When I got back to the office, I added a few sprays of balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing to spice it up a bit. It was fine, but I could have made something just as good(if not better) without having to spend $ 8. I’m glad I tried it, but I most likely won’t go back.
