I got delivery, and paid an extra $ 2 for brown rice and got white rice… small, but annoying. Otherwise, food was decent. I’ll probably order again.

SUPER disappointed! Their fried cheese wontons had ZERO cheese in them and took all day to chew. I guess you get what you pay for.

Constantly good food and friendly service. Whenever I want Chinese food this is my go-to place. It never disappoints. I particularly like their steamed vegetables. Whether I get them in a dish or as a side, they are always fresh and properly cooked. I order them every time.

Living in the area, I’ve been going to New Dynasty for a few years now as my go-to carryout Chinese place. That said, I think you have to take it for what it is-a casual, carry-out, Americanized Chinese restaurant. If you’re expecting Sichuan Pavilion quality or Peter Chang’s authenticity, you will likely be disappointed. However, given the price, I’d say New Dynasty provides quality Chinese food nonetheless. Personally, I would recommend the beef and broccoli and Kung-Pao chicken dishes here(like I said, you come here for Americanized Chinese food) as they aren’t overly greasy like a lot of cheap Chinese takeout places but still pretty flavorful. Most dishes either come with white or fried rice(I would recommend the fried rice) and you can also ask them to add Hunan sauce to the dishes if you like your dishes spicy(I almost always do this for the beef and broccoli). Seating inside is pretty limited and can be pretty cramped so I usually only order here for take-out(they also provide delivery service). I usually call in advance and they amazingly have my food ready in the 10 min or so it takes me to walk from my apartment door to the restaurant. They also offer a free soup or soda with your meal if you provide a college ID, which is something to keep in mind. All in all, I would recommend this place if you’r e looking for a good, no-nonsense Chinese takeout.

We ordered delivery after coming home from a long trip. We were both super hungry and Chinese sounded both delicious and filling, despite the 1 hour estimated wait time. What a disappointment. The Vietnamese noodles were barely warm and essentially tasteless. The sesame chicken tastes like mall food court Chinese food — super sugary. We won’t be eating here again. We could have gotten a much better meal for $ 14/person(+ tip!).

Vegetable Lo mein was great! Vegetable dumplings — were not that great, not enough filling inside. Customer service was great! Very friendly and accommodating. It was quite busy with lots of phone orders and pick ups and the food came out quick and hot.

Tried the Indonesian fried rice, was pretty good, similar in taste to Chinese fried rice. I would mainly recommend the chicken corn soup and the Mongolian beef, both were delicious! Overall, thr food was good but the service was even better. The main owner of the shop was so friendly, taking the time to ask where we were from and talking to us throughout dinner. He brought out the food extremely fast, our order was ready within 2 – 3 minutes. The food was 4 stars, but the service and environment was so enjoyable that this place deserves a 5! Will definitely recommend to others!

I will put in an asian point of view. I have not seen many good chinese restaurants in the area but this place is good for what you’re looking for. I ordered their lo mein and was happily content that their beef was yummy and flavorful as any chinese restaurant should be. A mixture of different asian dishes, I personally would mainly steer towards cantonese/chinese dishes. Make sure to mention if you’re a student, they give a free soda/soup! Opt for the soup. Soda you can buy in the store! If I’m in the area again and craving chinese take-out, I would most definitely come again. They were also pretty nice, which I appreciate immensely.

So good! So cheap! This is definitely some of the best Chinese I’ve had in DC, and you just can’t beat the price. I highly recommend to anyone. The food is best for take-out, but there’s always a few people eating inside the restaurant. They have a table or two outside, as well. You simply have to try it! I had the chicken with eggplant. Seriously delicious! $ 8.95

Have eaten here about 20 times. Best part of this place is that it is cheap and in the center of Dupont Circle. Other than that, the menu lacks focus with a mix of Chinese, Malaysian, and Singaporean dishes with almost everything tasting like it came out«molten lava» hot level straight out of the microwave. So perhaps this is great for carry-out, but if you are eating inside, expect the food to be much too hot to eat for at least 5 minutes. Flavors are pretty decent so my friends and I keep coming back. It’s a great place when you are in a pinch and you can’t beat the price and location. However, I think the food is certainly at a 3-star level.

I love this place is really close to the salon I work at(thomas shelton hair deisgn) and u call in for an order and they have it ready in no time. It’s good for delivery has well live on adams Morgan and they’ve delivered to my house food always good tasty just sometimes they just use a little too much garlic which I’m not a big fan of. It’s a good place to eat in with kids I take my sister and she’s only 5 they have a TV there and they had cartoons playing for her while we ate pretty nice. Staff always friendly and welcoming!

A great lunch option in Dupont! I always order the spring rolls and the sweet and sour chicken and I am never disappointed. It is always ready when I arrive and for the price its a ton of food! Ordering the small portion is enough for two meals and they give you a ton of options in terms of sides: white, brown, fried rice, lo mien noodles. All delicious!

I went here with Amanda J. because we were super hungry. I ordered dumplings. They weren’t dumplings. They were just unfilled pieces of dough. I ordered an eggroll, and it was just cabbage with the shrimp on the bottom. Everything was pretty bland, which is disheartening because it is so easy to be a small Chinese joint but still sell some decent food. Their appetizers weren’t good, which made me think they probably didn’t put in the effort in their food. Maybe their regular food is good, but I probably won’t give them the benefit of the doubt.

Off night? My friend and I came in here after eating at Urbana because we were still hungry. I ordered two egg rolls, and they were bad. There was only cabbage and no shrimp. My friend ordered dumplings, and they were not stuffed too. Empty egg rolls and empty dumplings. :/ Maybe they had a bad night? But I wouldn’t come back to find out.

Some of the best Chinese food EVER, can be found right here at New Dynasty. Whenever I’m in Dupont Circle and in the mood for Chinese, this is my spot. While it’s not big on atmosphere, it’s a very clean establishment that serves delicious food. In addition to the good food, they also have excellent prices and excellent customer service. When I worked in the area, our office would often place a big order with New Dynasty and not only was the order always right, but it was always delivered on time. So, with good food + good service + excellent prices = New Dynasty.

In my ongoing search for decent Chinese takeout in DC, I have oddly stepped over this little place just off of Dupont Circle. It was pretty decent. Using the ma po tofu(one of the most universal Chinese dishes there is) as a basis for comparison, this one was satisfying, if nothing special. Not what you’d get at Great Wall or Sichuan Pavilion, but for a place that’s cheap and takes Eat24, not bad. It tasted mostly of black bean sauce and scallions, as it should. Their fried tofu appetizer was a nice impressive portion and an easy way to stretch an order for a few days. Their dumplings were far better rendered than the veggie spring roll, the latter basically being just cabbage. A bit offbeat for someone to joke about throwing some chicken in with an obviously all veggie order; I guess it shows they’re paying enough attention to notice. Otherwise, fast and efficient takeout. This place offers an unusual pan-Asian selection, and it was at least good enough for the money that I might try a more adventurous order in the future.
