One Washington Circle Hotel

Stayed here this weekend. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Location is great. The room was massive and clean.

Great hotel! Loved it so much! The hotel was clean and had the nicest staff. After a long day exploring the nations capital it is a great place to call home. The circle suite was great and fit my family of five.

Great location close to Georgetown and easy to get to the white house or Lincoln memorial and then the mall and museums and attractions. Other reviews mention the sirens and there were a lot thats for sure. I didn’t understand how there could be that many emergencies but you will hear them probably a lot all day and night. The sirens are loud and seem to echo with all the tall buildings in the city. I would have liked to keep the balcony door open but it just got to be too much. Other than that, the rooms were a great value for the price. This place is probably due for a renovation soon as the bathroom feels a little out dated and the couch was not very comfortable. The kitchenette is a nice benefit if you are visiting for a few days. The employees were all friendly and I would stay here again if the price is right. Valet was $ 25 on Sunday and $ 40 a day Mon-​Wed. If you are visiting I would probably recommend you use Über or Lyft to get around and not rent a car due to the parking rates here and when you go somewhere. Even at nice restaurants I have seen valet charges of $ 10-​$ 16.

This boutique hotel is the best kept secret in DC! It is conveniently located quite close to the Metro & other places of interest in our Nation’s capital! The hotel is very clean & has courteous & helpful staff! My room even came with a complete kitchen! This is just a lovely hotel! I will definitely be back here whenever I visit DC!

This has been my third stay in the last year and a half. The staff here are friendly and offer assistance on several different levels. Let me explain. My first stay I had just came from my grandfathers funeral. After my first day I received a sympathy card from the staff. This was above what their normal duties. An amazing feeling after returning from my GWU activities for the day. My most recent stay I arrived with no luggage thanks to my wonderful airline. They were very empathetic and offered advice and assistance to help solve my situation from toothbrush to placing my luggage in my room once it did arrive.
In my opinion the staff at OWC did not have to do any of these kind acts.
Also, as I depart they make sure I have a cab and assist in planning my trip to the airport making sure I arrive in time.

We’ve had such a great experience here so far. We came in for Labor Day weekend with our two small dogs and this hotel is awesome!
I personally have pretty high standards when it comes to hotels and I have to experience a single issue. They even sent up a bottle of wine because we were celebrating our last trip before our wedding aka. One final stress free weekend ;)
Upon check in they met us in our room with complementary dogs beds, dog dishes, and TOYS for our boys! I’ve never seen such a dog friendly/​LOVING hotel. There are TONS of great parks in this area to walk to (all dog friendly) and we all even visited the White House which was a 15 min walk away
The rooms might not be «super» modern but they are HUGE. A full kitchen, huge bedroom, walk in closet, dining area, and plenty of room for everything.
The bistro downstairs has a very nice selection for food and they’ve been so accommodating for our poolside snack requests.
If you’re looking for a great hotel with tons of space in a perfect location look no further!

Excellent place to stay in dc!
So many pros to this hotel and we could only think of one and a half cons that ill mention at the end.
Walking from the hotel to any tourist attraction was easy. Even the zoo was a decent walk with all other locations an easy and enjoyable walk.
And there’s a lifeguard at the pool!!! At the end of a busy day, or for a break from the heat, we returned to the hotel and took a dip or watched the kids swim with the safety of the guard in the background.
The bar by the pool was fun and having a fridge and microwave in our room was great for dinner leftovers turned to breakfast.
The only cons were the sound of sirens from the ambulances to the hospital across the circle. Ear plugs helped and some nights there were no ambulances.
The half a con was on two days we left the room late and housekeeping did not return later. But we were still able to call for clean towels so its only half a con.

I was in DC for business, staying at the Hay-​Adams and I booked 2 rooms at One Washington Circle at the end of my stay so that my brother and his family and I could have a few days to tour the capital. I chose «the Circle» (official new nickname?) because of the downtown location, proximity to the White House, and its value.
The value part was immediately enhanced when both rooms got an upgrade! I don’t know what a «standard» room looks like, but since the upgrade was only one level up, I imagine they are pretty similar. And my room was great! You might think that after the luxury of the Hay Adams that the Circle would be a let down. Wrong! I’ve lived in apartments that were not as big as the room and suite. The cleanliness and décor gave the room a fresh, modern, crisp feeling. Big windows, lovely view and a gorgeous kitchen. They will even go grocery shopping for you – which is why I think this would be a great choice for a family or someone staying for a longer time. You would not have to eat out as often.
The staff was young, perky, and very helpful – recommending breakfast places and nice walks. The Circle restaurant was our first breakfast spot. Delicious and varied breakfast items in a cheery interior – with a most attentive and patient server (we had three children with us.)
The location was perfect for walks, seeing the sites, and finding restaurants and other services.
All in all, a great find! This will be where I stay for business next time! And for pleasure as well.

The location is conveniently near the train station. However it is also near the hospital. The ambulances siren goes off all day and often at night was very very very loud from our room. We stayed here several times (2+) and it was always loud from the room we were given. I start to wonder, must we complain in order to be given a more quiet room? We are not the complaining type, so we bought ear plugs. Service was great! Room was great (just like other reviewers describe).

The Washington Circle Hotel is just fancy enough to feel like you’re being pampered a little — attentive staff, a solid on-​site restaurant, comfortable living areas, a few freebees. I got in late and checked in with no problems, had a beautiful balcony view, and my bags were well looked-​after for a few hours after I checked out.
That said, it’s in a state of disrepair that would have me place it as a 3-​star hotel at best under the international system. The walls are well-​decorated, but you can see a little peeling paint here, a few chips in the wood paneling there. The TV stand is kind of out-​of-​place as it looks like IKEA furniture, and it’s on rollers. That’s a first for me in a hotel that isn’t actually a motel.
The shower and bathroom in general are kinda tiny compared to the living space and bed — but the bed WAS comfortable as were all the furnishings.
Yes, it looks a little like the 70’s in some areas, but not really the bedroom. However, the complaints about the Internet are no lie — I couldn’t even buffer my way through a Netflix video. I wouldn’t come here looking to get a lot of critical work done.
It’s a nice value compared to some places in the Foggy Bottom Metro area, and even though I didn’t pay for this trip, I can respect the price difference given the problems that did exist. That’s why they get 4 stars from me – the price-​to-​amenities-​to-​hassle ratio was very good overall.
If you want the absolute best, you can indeed pay more for it in DC.

Rooms are great so spacious and not too worn for an older hotel. I don’t think a newer hotel ever has rooms that size and we had a nice kitchen that would have been ideal for a longer stay. So the slightly worn feel is worth the trade off to me.
For the size of the room and the time we were there pricing was very competitive-​I booked directly with the hotel.
Bar was great with a nice happy hour every night. We had no problems with our internet. Staff was great all around.
The only downside, which has been in other reviews, were the sirens. It is across from GW Hospital and there’s no getting around the noise which is constant until about 3:00AM. Ear plugs would have helped I think. I had stayed there several years ago and it wasn’t that pronounced-​I think another emergency room closed and they have expanded the size of GW’s.
All in all I would recommend-​ask for a room high up and bring some ear plugs.

Hotel was in a great area. Whole Foods was really close by and we were able to get breakfast there which really helps. Staff was great and even helped us find a bar to watch The Super Bowl!

Wasn’t all that great for the price we paid. I stayed there for my bday weekend and although it seemed great, the staff was horrible. Ross at the front couldn’t explain why they charged me extra when he told me the total before I went up to my room. He kept calculating in his head and when I came back down to ask about the charge he said he was going to refund me back 300 dollars??? He still couldn’t clearly explain the charge..

Spend 3 nights at this beautiful hotel and had an amazing time from the beginning. Very close to the metro, pharmacies, whole foods, Starbucks –in short the best location. Custom service is astounding –lovely. Definitely coming back and highly highly recommend.

If you want a charming place firmly rooted in the 1970s this is it. No dependable internet… no modern communications I could find.
Staff is friendly and internet illiterate. Good restaurant and terrific bar as long as Jane is there.
I’ve been a regular and loyal guest for 30 years. If your’e dependent on internet connections forget it. A real loser.
On the other hand great service, friendly and helpful staff.
Treat your 1970 soul to this, keep expectations low. and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

P. S. This has to be the worst managed hotel in the world. Somehow it survives and thrives. My guess it’s all related to the charming, warm bar an the constantly good restaurant.

We had an EXCELLENT stay. Love that they are pet friendly. Any hotel that is amazing to our dogs is a huge plus for us. They had two dog beds with toys, bags of treats and poop bags available in the room. Each time we took them outside and brought them back they were given another toy and treat which they loved!
Now into the room. The beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on in any hotel I’ve ever been too. Pillow top mattress is a huge thumbs up. The pillows were perfect as well. Loved that there was a full kitchen with stove and microwave. Saved us money on food by cooking our own. I loved the setup with the couches and being able to watch HBO movies. The only thing that I think needs a little improvement is the softness of the towels. I felt like I was using sandpaper to dry off. Also they put a hold of $ 150 a night for a pet deposit which we weren’t told about the per night rule but weren’t charged in the end. Other than that we had a great stay and if we weren’t moving down to DC in a month we would definitely stay here again!

One Washington Circle is a mixed bag and it really depends what you are looking for in your stay in DC.
Pros: Location is awesome. Located two blocks from the foggy bottom gwu metro station (meaning you can get from Regan International to this hotel in 13 minutes for $ 3.10…that’s a great deal). The location also has tons of restaruants nearby. You are close to the white house, the mall, and the Smithsonian etc.
The one bedrooms are huge. I had a livingroom, dining room, kitchen, one and a half baths, and a nice large bedroom. The room faced Washington circle and had a nice patio to chill out on. The only downside is the noise from the occasional ambulances going to GW hospitial and the politicians and their motorcades.
Service is great. The front desk was always happy cheerful and a delight to deal with.
They have a nice restaurant attached with also provides room service.
They offer grocery shopping services if you plan an extended stay here.
They have a pool and a small workout facility.
Cons: It is an older Hotel and looks tired. Things are worn out.
Prices are not the cheapest.
The noise.
I got an upgrade (which I thank you hotel folks) but I am sure some of the rooms are not as nice as mine.

Stayed for one night Valentine’s Day. Booked a Deluxe Double (basic) room under the Date DC Romance package, which includes early check in (12pm), late check out (2pm), fresh flowers in the room, a bottle of champagne, and a cute gift bag. check site for details lol But everything really helped make the stay more special. Free wifi in the rooms is a plus too.
Upon check-​in we were given a complimentary upgrade to what I later found out was a Circle View Suite (must be our lucky day), which offered a huge balcony with an unobstructed view of Washington Circle Park. The balcony was seriously the biggest I’ve seen at a hotel, if it were warmer out it definitely would have been useful. The room was huge and consisted of a separate bedroom with a comfortable bed, a full AND a half bathroom, living room, dining room, full (and stocked) kitchen with stove, oven, fridge, dishwasher. There was a Whole Foods in walking distance, so cooking in ends up being a great alternative if you don’t want to go out.
The Circle Bistro restaurant looked very cozy and cute, heard the food was really good too. Service throughout the stay was friendly and very helpful, didn’t even mind corking my champagne to take on the road! 1 star off for a minor annoyance– expensive valet parking ($ 40) and a bit of outside noise (you’re right across from GW Hospital so, as mentioned, there are a lot of sirens.) No problem sleeping through it though. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again.

Just finished staying at this hotel. Staff is knowledgeable and courteous. A good looking front desk man gave us a room on the top floor ;). The doormen and anyone we came across were friendly and always said hello, willing to assist or answer questions.
Ordered room service. Their Circle Bistro is delicious and worth the price.
The location of the hotel is convenient and in a nice neighborhood, as it is within walking distance of the White House and Georgetown (and a Starbucks across the street!)
The room was not perfect regarding cleanliness. But it was not filthy and was overall in good shape. The beds were comfy. It is very convenient having a kitchen with a full fridge, coffee maker, oven, stove and microwave. Some missing items may be a spatula (since breakfast is commonly made?) and a sponge (we bought our own) but we could work around that.
The gym has all the basic necessities and then some. Got a good work out.
The biggest issue was the sirens but that’s a bit hard for them to control. The hotel is across from a hospital so expect many alarms. Also. Although we really enjoyed our room, it could use a bit of a renovation. However the lobby was always beautifully decorated and it was definitely a great stay!

Extra notes *** I work at a hotel, front desk. We were here for 7 days.

I cannot NOT give them 5-​stars after this past weekend I had with them. I was originally quoted $ 149 as a «special group rate» price, but then I went directly to their hotel website and noticed that a queen studio suite with equipped kitchen would only be $ 92/​night. Since this is only 2 blocks away from GWU, I immediately booked.
I was already quite happy with my purchase before I arrived, but then my level of amazement just kept rising throughout my 4-​day stay.
I was somehow lucky enough to get the penthouse suite (and my pricing did NOT increase) and my room was GINORMOUS. The bed was queen-​sized, I had a spacious living room, plus office area and a fully-​stocked kitchen that came equipped with toaster, coffee-​maker, full-​size fridge, utensils for cooking, microwave, cups, plates, bowls, you name it! The spacious walk-​in closet really made my day. I also noticed they seemed to design the room applying feng shui principles too.
They have a 24-​hour fitness center on location — it is small, but has everything that you need: one bike, one treadmill, and one elliptical with a total body workout weight machine. Their lobby area is awesome — complimentary business center and coffee (and it tasted better than Starbuck’s).
The staff members here ALWAYS took care of my needs whether it was requests for toothpaste, a wake-​up call, having transportation ready for me at a set time … apparently none of my requests were too «out of reach» for them and they always assisted me with a smile. Definitely the type of service you look forward to having when you are away from home.
Their location is central to absolutely everything — I stocked up at Trader Joe’s (only a 5-​minute walk away) and then cooked in my kitchen. I was in a rush in the morning so I wasn’t able to do my dirty dishes — what a surprise that the housekeeping staff took care of this when they were cleaning my room! I definitely made sure to compensate them well for their services, they went above-​and-​beyond my expectations (And yes, make sure to TIP your housecleaning staff at the end of your stay!!!). Many people don’t know to do this.
The only negative thing that I can say I didn’t enjoy was the constant sirens that would wail throughout the day and night — you are located about 1.5 away from 2 hospitals so this noise is very frequent.
